My Ten Hour Thread

Hello, errbody.

I haz downloaded and installed free Origin trialware of the MEA.

I now for make the journal of my experiences for you all to see and have the feelings.

Day 1 (this past Monday) - bored shitless, I click download. 1 hour and 43 minutes later, game is ready. My body is not, so I fed the Lord of Light two kittens and some havarti cheese and then mashed play.

I see... A black screen. It is epicly black, and flashing briefly where I can see my Shadowplay trying to tell me Alt-Z to show the world your derp! but I couldn't see it, because lol flickering screen issue.

The Googling Device tells me that this is a common issue (lol) and after a few searches I found the answer.

First impression - everything looks a little cartoony, and a little plastic. Cora sure has a pretty smile, but she wares it like it's her favorite t-shirt.

In fact, all of the facial animations in general look janky to me, and maybe the trial isn't a patched version of the game, you tell me - what sticks out in my mind is that it seems every character's mocap and the modeling done from the lidar scans, are representations from a smiling face. Like everyone is on Paxil, placid as Hindu cows.

I get to the planet, floaty rocks, and I gotta say - all the Frostbyte fanbois are drunk... The game does not, in anyway, look amazingly better than than MET, and at times looks cheesier and less cutting edge than old ME1. The "amazing graphical fidelity" is a farce, it is another engine that apparently is hard to work with.

Out of the rocks come the enemy, I am guessing the Kett. Their heads explode with my M3 pistol until it is out of ammo, then reflexively roll the scroll wheel and unleash the deadly Avenger at full auto. Heads disappear satisfyingly, despite being a little spongy and making no sound that makes me feel cruel and special ;_;

Then, I hit escape and saved.
