Even if you identified a cause of a problem right now, and even if you supplied/emailed ea/bioware with the information about what they need to fix.. the problem will still remain due to no patches coming down any more.. support has officially been withdrawn. And then, the question has already been put forward to the devs. Billy Buskell answered it on May 25th: "It is a larger bug that relates to Frostbite (the game engine underlying MEA) and they have reached out to the Frostbite team for help."

Turbo Boost is not the cause of the missing sound bug I can confirm. It's Bioware's sloppy game code that is to blame here. And since they can't be bothered to support or patch their game anymore, we're just going to have to accept that it will never be fixed.

This has absolutely nothing to do with the Turboboost feature on Intel CPUs. This is simply shoddy troubleshooting.

Hmmm... I have never been banned, from these forums. Also, I don't remember your other thread. I don't take pills, I smoke weed idiot. Edit: and your hand waving mansplaining of technical jargon lol is funny. The people that have responded to you in this thread have more knowledge about computing in their toilet after a shit than you do on your best day. Troubleshooting without a clue is called searching for a needle in a haystack with a construction crane. Good luck. LOL, did you just admit on this forum about your illegal consumption of a illegal drug? Uncle Sam, 20 years hard labor for this crook. It may be illegal where you live. In most of the world, it is not criminal to grow a plant, and then smoke or eat it. Interestingly, your choice of words is so mocking that it seems like you probably hit the hash pipe every now and then. Either that, or you really ought to.

I've already had turbo boost off for months but I'm eagerly awaiting the third installment in your series Likely it's something along the lines of disable Hyperthreading or forcing your AGP port to x4 or something. You sound like the more informed one on this thread. Its hard to tell if if some of these illiterates even know what's on or not in their PCs, or could be vindictive enough to report the opposite even if the suggested fix worked. I have pretty much narrowed it down to disabling audio enhancements (sound acceleration) alone. Turned all other hardware acclns on. I am able to reproduce and fix the sound bug by toggling ONLY audio enhancements on/off. control panel/sound/ pick your audio device/ properties/enhancements/disable all enhancements. If you have a dedicated sound card, flip to integrated sound and do the same. see if this works for ya and confirm.

Well, no one really knows because EA haven't revealed anything about their engine and it was never licensed to external parties. That being said, I can easily find web reports about the sound dropping not only in MEA but in Mirror's Edge Catalyst, Battlefield 1 and Star Wars Battlefront as well (experienced it in SWB myself too). So, one does wonder why EA Dice haven't been able to fix this...

The problem is that I don't play at the moment, and even if I did, I'm not able to reproduce the bug in order to try this workaround, since I could go for months without being affected and then one night it hits me, seemingly out of the blue. Disabling audio acceleration, the most common and one of the oldest suggested fixes for sound-related issues might work, but just like reverting to directx 9 in certain games instead of dx11, it wouldn't be the most ideal solution. Oh and I'm not fond of my on-board Realtek-crap by the way... PS: It's good to hear it's finally worthwhile again to go (back to) AMD. I'm not exactly the biggest Intel nor NVidia supporter... I'm not really sure about Crossfire (or SLI for that matter), since it's great if it works well, and frustrating if it doesn't. Especially since multi-GPU support isn't much of a priority in developer's minds, which is counter-productive considering power-hungry gimmicks like 4K, VR, and 144+Hz (and thus fps) are a "thing" right now.

I think many people got used to UE3's texture pop-ins (since it's much worse in id Tech 5), or the fact all of those games have a similar 'look' to them. And that the PS3 had performance issues with it compared to the 360.

Nvidia/Intel fanboys really want to live in a world where Nvidia/Intel can decide how much they can charge for their product and how much more performance you get each generation without any meaningful competition. Just a reminder, right before the advent of Ryzen and the threadripper class of CPUs (16 cores 32 threads on the 1950x for a thousand bucks), Intel was selling a 10 core CPU for about 2000 bucks, now it's half as much. Before Ryzen, a 5+ years old Intel i7 2600K would still be comparable to a new 7700K, now we're about to get 6 cores Intel consumer CPUs at the cost of 4 cores ones. It's against Intel/Nvidia fanboys' own interest if AMD fails, but li'l do they know. I bother to use my workstations primarily for FEM when i work from home. My last Intel fkstation only cost 5000 bucks (facepalm). My new AMD beast cost less than half of that to build. The threadripper suite of CPUs bitchslaps anything Intel can throw at it. Crossfire's a gem if you tweak a li'l bit friend. My Radeon 295X2 from 2014 (that i bought for 650 bucks back then) still troll beats the fucking 1080Ti. Bwaahahahaa. A Intel/Nvidia fanboy is kinda like a Trump supporter who lives in a trailer park.

IF it works... What I meant that more and more games are released with zero or half-assed multiGPU-support where half of your 295X2 would be useless. Quite often Crossfire support is added a month after release of certain games. And 'nvidia'-sponsored games usually remain problematic in this regard. I must sound like a traitor but I traded my dual R9 290X for a single 1080. And altough I think the nvidia control panel sucks ass, I don't regret the change performance-wise... I'm not getting involved in (foreign) politics.

Interestingly, your choice of words is so mocking that it seems like you probably hit the hash pipe every now and then. Either that, or you really ought to. FAT CHANCE, its legal wherever the fk you live. Nothing new here boys, tis just the regular crack dealing crook (mirror mirror!) trying to defend his crime, trying to let others know its no biggie. Uncle Sam's onto ya a. He already tracked your ip, found out who you are, where you work, etc. You'll be getting a "random" drug screen at work, which you won't pass and lose your livelihood. On second thought, you kinda sound like a jobless dope dealer who sells dope from home (never had a job). Well, guess what, Uncle Sam's comin to your house boy, putting an end to your life of crime and your attempts at corruption of civil society. Your dope life is so over. Wait for it....wait for it...Yep, just like i thought, MirrorMirror's pissin his pants, starting to get panic attacks boys (like a crook very well should)......Bwaaaahahahaha.....
