DISABLE TURBOBOOST IN ADDITION TO DISABLING ORIGIN OVERLAY (Sound bug fix)

Dude, i solve some very important problems for some very important folks out there for a living. My mind goes to the moon and back many times a day. Somewhere in the middle of that, i suppose i forgot to check if i "dumbfounded" you by posting in a different thread. (?!?!?!?! why the fck does it matter dude?)

IF All your games snail out without turbo-boost---->its time you upgraded your PC.

IF you're just overwhelmed by the thought of getting into your BIOS for trialing such a simple fix, let's dumb it down a tad bit more.  Just install some program like Throttlestop and you can create keyboard shortcuts to toggle turboboost on or off. You wouldn't have to do anything scary.

IF it was was narrowed down to a Turboboost issue, i can email the simpletons in EA/Bioware and let them know exactly what they need to fix. After they fix it, you can turn your turboboost back on ( ) and celebrate the performance enhancement. Turboboost almost feels like feeding your flaccid computer some Viagra eh? Don't worry, don't worry, we won't kill its performance for too long, just long enough to trial this goddamn sound bug fix. Soon after, we'll let that PC get its boner back again. We'll make your PC great again...bigly.

We'll wait till many others get back after they trial the fix and establish consensus after that. Your answer alone can't be trusted too much (i'm sure you know what i mean, that's how it works in the test world).


BTW, How's your Volus uncle doing? the one who gave you 73 million credits one fine day.... Is he in good health? 

Even if you identified a cause of a problem right now, and even if you supplied/emailed ea/bioware with the information about what they need to fix.. the problem will still remain due to no patches coming down any more.. support has officially been withdrawn.

And then, the question has already been put forward to the devs. Billy Buskell answered it on May 25th: "It is a larger bug that relates to Frostbite (the game engine underlying MEA) and they have reached out to the Frostbite team for help."

OP, on one hand I applaud your drive to try and help out the community.

On the other hand, as a fellow Person who solves important problems for important people^TM and occasionally creates problems for them too (my new job description in my CV btw ), you should know that you're going about it all wrong.

The fact of the matters is - there is a something wrong going somewhere with Frostbite (let's call it a bug). What you're essentially trying to do is eliminate conditions that may (or may not!) help trigger the bug. But as Frostbite is so top secret we have no idea really what triggers the bug's code path and have no good way of finding it. So we're going in trying to fix it look for a workaround completely blind!

I see people go about the same thing every day. We find a bug, we want to fix it for them. But no, they insist they don't want the patch and the issue never happens when they spray salt on their server, dance three times around it, and then send a prayer to Cthulhu. I mean fine, if that's what floats your boat, I guess you'll live without the patch.

The only difference is... no one is going to patch this for us.

The fact of the matter is - i moved this game to my new workstation (16 core Ryzen Threadripper, Radeon Vega Frontier Edition Crossfire) last night and did some tests. LOL Nvidia/Intel fanboys are so fucked, Rock on AMD!!! But, but, back to the game, back to this game. My previous tests on my older rig and my new workstation indicate that this game is need of a few optimization tweaks. It would appear to the average player that this game is unsually hardware hungry and I understand that the average consumer may not have very powerful rigs. But, I'll have to skip the technical jargon here. In any case, This would be more time intensive for Bioware to do on the engine itself. There are simpler ways to take care of this



For now, refer to my comment on the audio acceleration tweak above and see if it worked. Bye.

You may have missed it - the mods deleted it and a couple of other posts - but in his "Klan" thread a fee days ago he had a meltdown and asked the mods to ban you and I from posting in his threads.
