I started a new ME3 playthrough to see if it was possible to get all the ME2 Squadmates available for the Citadel Arena.
The problem as I see it is to get certain characters to appear ingame, others have to be killed off. For example, getting Tali and Legion aboard the Normandy requires Mordin to die. And getting Ashley results in Thane dying. Might also kill off Legion as well.
So I think I should try to go through the DLC right now, where everyone is still alive. I'm at the point where Mordin is doing genophage research. Since I don't want to play the Citadel DLC several times over to test this theory, does anyone know if my goal is achievable? Or if the DLC is even accessible at this point?

Mordin doesn't have to die, if you kill Wrex in ME1 he can survive. Thane will always die however and before the Citadel DLC is playable, so I don't think you'll ever get him.

It's not possible to play it this early. You can only access it after Priority Citadel II, so Mordin and Thane are dead by then. Legion is also not playable.

For example, getting Tali and Legion aboard the Normandy requires Mordin to die. Really? Who told you that? Mordin has nothing to do with those two characters. The only way(s) he dies in ME3 is if the player shoots him in the back or he cures the genophage Incorrect. Thane dies, at least stabbed, before facing Ashley. Thane will die later on in the hospital It will always be destroyed in ME3 Can't play the dlc until after the Citadel coup mission Legion and Thane will never be avaialable for the dlc no matter what. You can, if you visit Thane in the hospital before he dies, invite his son for a get together to remember his father. Mordin, if alive, will have an audio log that the player can listen to. If wanting all squadmates possible, play the dlc after completing Sanctuary. If you want Wrex in the dlc, Mordin has to die and the genophage has to be cured. All other squadmates can show up except Legion and Thane for obvious reasons

In order to get to Tali and Legion, I was told the Tuchanka mission has to be completed, which in my version, always results in Mordin's death as he cures the genophage. Well, before the big explosion that removes him from the game.
But judging from all the information learned here, I'll just give up and load the savegame from my previous playthrough, where all the possible squadmates are available. I see no point in playing through the game again if I can't change the outcome.

Mordin doesn't have to die, if you kill Wrex in ME1 he can survive. Only if Eve also dies. Besides, since you screwed the krogan and they believe Mordin to be dead, he won't journey to the Citadel.

Legion is never available in the Citadel DLC. Thane is never available in the Citadel DLC (although Kolyat will provide you with messages from Thane if you invite him) Mordin will only have an audio log at the end of the party. Mordin will never be available as a squadmate in Armax Arena.

While it would be pretty bizarre for Shepard to give the crew shore leave after picking up Tali and Legion but while the rest of the geth and quarians are still blasting the crap out of each other, it's also pretty bizarre that if Shepard did do that for some reason, Legion would just stay on the ship. I mean, I get why he wouldn't go all over the Citadel (even though nobody cares in ME2), but he'd be fine in Shepard's apartment or going to the Archives with the rest of the crew. And I could imagine him having some amusing interactions with Glyph.
