Ok this is a strange one but I just started a NG+ and my armor in the opening lvl on Habitat 7 is black and red. I know it dose not really matter but this is buggin me to no end. I want it to be the white and blue normal colors... is there a way to fix this?

Once you board the Tempest, go to Pathfinder's quarters, to your left should be a control panel that'll let you dye your armour and outfits.

Colors on new game plus carry over from the customization of your last save (so do casual outfits, I believe).
If you want default colors, just choose those on your finished game, save, and start a new game plus from it.
If, however, you're using default colors already, it may be that default colors for the suit you're using are black and red (N7 or pathfinder). If that's the case, and you wanna start with that armor in white and blue, then again, customize the color to your liking on the finished game and start NG+.

See now this is what I don't get. I played Sarah and my armor was colored Orange and brown. Now in new game plus I am using Scott. His casual outfit is the normal white and blue but when he suits up in the default but high lvl armor for the Habitat 7 mission is is black and red. Just seems strange I don't know why Scott got set to red and black.
And yes I know I can just change it latter and like I said in my first post I know this is not a big issue it is still bugging me.

You could put your PC back into default casual gear and armor (in default colors) and save that to use for NG+. Just to be sure...

I had this happen as well on my latest PT, the Sara that I used ended the previous PT in pink armour, but when started again in ng+ was wearing the red & black colouring, also, the colours from the casual outfit had rest to white, I'm not quite sure what cause it though, nor do I know how to correct it.

This happened to me as well. From a previous thread, posters said that the armor would be red and black if the game save used for NG+ did not have Ryder in default armor. I do not know if this will fix the armor of a genderswapped NG+, because Scott's armor in a Sara game is dark/N7 armor and can't be changed to default.
This makes me wonder if default armor was originally supposed to be red and black (see the McFarlane statues) but was changed to blue and white to be as little like Shepard as possible.
Let us know what happens.

So original intent would be to have Ryder match Alec's color scheme rather than the rest of the unit? Maybe.

Ok yeah I went back to my first game and changed Sarah's armor back to default color. Now Scott's armor is the white and blue again.

This happened to me as well....i had to customize the colors of my armor all over again....not a big deal as everybody has stated, but i thought it would cross over with the NG+...

Having done a lot of experimentation with this, I can shed some light on how it works... Your Ryder's colours are tied specifically to THAT Ryder sibling. If you play as Sara, change her colours during your game, then use that game as a NG+ but play as Scott, he won't get Sara's colours because he has his own. As for why Scott appeared in black & red - those are the default Custom Colours, hence them being what your sibling sometimes wears during a certain mission towards the end of the game (if you yourself have custom colours selected, I believe). If you set your own custom colours and then use that same Ryder sibling in a NG+, their starting armour will be coloured to match. You can actually fully manipulate what colours your sibling wears by creating them as a player-character Ryder in a different playthrough and exporting their appearance, then reimporting it for the game you want to play. An interesting note here is that your sibling's casual outfit on the Hyperion - and your own in Alec's flashbacks - are dictated by the armour colours, not the casual outfit colours. I managed to get Scott's clothes looking more or less like the default AI uniform by colouring his armour grey, blue & white before exporting his appearance for use.

I actually liked that the armor was black and red, but then came the scene with the broken helmet and it was ruined by the default Ai color for that piece alone.

I actually liked that the armor was black and red, but then came the scene with the broken helmet and it was ruined by the default Ai color for that piece alone. I thought it forced default colors for Habitat 7 for this reason, then gives you your preferred colors once you board the Tempest. Perhaps we are talking about different update versions, and it changed at some point?

This annoys the piss out of me, too, jasonpogo . I likewise hated how the protagonist gets Ai colors in a NG, but the sibling gets red/black. That being the case, I created a pair of siblings wearing Ai colors (white/blue armor and grey/blue/near-white casual) whom I import for every game. If you change back to the default face while in the CC, he or she appears to switch into black/red. In-game, though, they retain the edited color-scheme. Just as OrbitalWings says, the options are limitless if you're willing to spend a few minutes tinkering with Tempest's CC/editor and save exporting.
