Hi everyone,
recently I have observed game freezes (with sound stuttering) in Mass Effect Andromeda. It can happen everywhere, even in the main menu, sometimes several times in sequence. The complete PC freezes and I have to make a cold reset. I checked the system with several benchmarking programs (Prime95, memtest, 3DMark11) during many hours and there were no stability issues.
System stats:
Win 10 64 But
I7-2600k
8 GB DDR3 @ 668MHz
Asus P8P67
Geforce 970 GTX (385.41)
Asus Xonar DX (Uni Xonar Driver 10.0.8.1825)
Could this problem be possibly related to the virtual memory (page file) settings? Which values would be recommended?
Cheers,
lead

Did you change the Page File recently since this started to occur? Have you updated any drivers: Motherboard, CPU, Sound, Graphics drivers and this started happening? Have you installed anything recently since this started happening?

I believe this forum has an expert in sound troubleshooting.
He starts with making sure that.... Nevermind, he just randomly gives advice and will also tell you that your Intel/Nvidia setup is the root cause of all evulz.
If I had any good advice I would share it, our rigs are similar.

Thanks for your replies so far.
I am not sure, I might possibly have found the culprit: maybe it´s the unixonar driver. I removed it and installed, instead the standard Asus Driver. I have been playing for 3 hours now and so far no freezes. By the way, all drivers are up to date and earlier today just went through a 6 hour memtest session. No errors.

Always suspect the device driver first then suspect installs of programs next. Congratulations on a running game again. Welcome to Mass Effect AndromedaAll games have troubles and glitches. Mass Effect: Andromeda is no different. Troubles and glitches that are a lot less now than at launch by far for ME:A. If you want a glitch ridden bug fest of a game try Deep Black Reloaded, Codename: Eagle or The Great Escape. To say this is fact with ME:A is not even an excuse -just more stereotypical emotional vindictiveness to a game based on anticipated desire that didn't fulfill wantonness based on a previous game title.

And this is why we get shitty bugged games at release like Assassin's Creed Unity or Batman Arkham Knight for PC: fanboys that try to find excuses to lazy and lame work (especially this stupid excuse of "every game has glitches", because it seems you're so fanboy you can't understand the difference. Imagine a critic appointing the bad things on a horrible movie, and a fanboy like you say "Well, every movie has bad things, that's just stereotypical emotional vindictiveness!". Seriously, go to school.

Seriously, go to school. What school? High school? College? University? Sorry been there. If you are saying I am Fanboy of glitchy games? If so then you bet I am Assassin's Creed Unity or Batman Arkham Knight were bugged and unplayable seriously? I didn't really have any problems playing them at launch -especially BAK the first launch before it was pulled -I guess some had issues -not me though. I consider a game to be released an accompaniment unless you can write the game yourself in machine code and get it right the first time the only thing that counts as a success. To me nothing is bad if the story they want to tell is achieved be it game or movie.

To me nothing is bad if the story they want to tell is achieved be it game or movie. Well, then the game is a double failure. Well again that is dependent on if the story they wanted to tell is what we truly got with Mass Effect: Andromeda... Also on that side note while some may not like the ME:A story -I like it. So is ME:A a failure....?...... well for me Mass Effect :Andromeda is not a failure at all.

If you like MEA it's a failure Oops sorry I go out How is liking the game a failure for me? To me it is a benefit -a science fiction story that for the first time in a RPG game that has actually tried a colony story. What is the oops for? Go out for what? Sorry don't get it. First part was humorous because like you I don't think the game was a failure Second part, must be badly translated by me, in my native language it means "I just said something idiot, I leave you alone and go away" Morality, a good joke in my own language is badly received when translated. Sorry and my apologies
