I would not be surprised at all if Mae ends up being a Romance nor would I be mad at it. As long as they do it right and not make the romance solely about her being trans it should come off as well as they write the character. She will probably be one of the extra romances for males.
Calpernia is one romance I personally hope they go with. I have no doubt she will be in the game and can be a more enhanced version of when loghain was our companion in origins. That would make Calpernia the 1st full villain turned companion and romance in the series.

Calpernia can be dead. I doubt she'll even show up in the game. They only showed Calpernia jumping. Besides Dorian and Harding, I’d say that she’s the one with highest chances of returning. |

Potentially dead characters don't generally play a major role in future games, and as far as I know have never become LIs. Well, except Jaheira and Viconia, I guess, but their potential deaths simply weren't carried over... |

She's just fine for DA4 But yeah, probably. Even ignoring the ingame stuff, there is the fact that she became a favorite among some of the writers. I just hope we aren't forced to have her or let her get away with all the atrocities she committed. |
