I still like MEA a lot. I've made peace with the insane manifest and just play for fun. The actual game is a lot of fun. Some of the best Mass Effect combat ever, and no need to sit through conversation wheels to get it. It's still pretty easy to get a game too, at least on Xbox. I'm in the same boat regarding the manifest. My "only hope" is to get the Silesh so I can try all the weapons. I know I won't max it in this lifetime. Now I'm focusing on challenges (maps/weapons/powers) and fun.

It's not worth. The loot pool flooding is absolutely atrocious as well to the point it was easier working from the ground up in ME3MP after years of DLC, and that this 4-gun variation, and 20 of the same character card BS looks more like an intentional 'fuck you' to us poor saps who gave them our money.
Even if I did buy this game for less than half price, the gameplay itself doesn't keep me playing nearly as long as ME3MP did before SOMETHING bothers me, usually in the form of reloads getting canceled when sneezed on, and the poorly-thought out enemy-swarming to counter camping to the point that it's just not fun if you're not running, and gunning all the time.
Basically, I play like 2-3 games every other day, and stop.

Not sure really with regards the loot-pool flood.. the variants only unlock once you max a weapon, so each time you rank X a base weapon you then unlock 3 more variants to the pool, so it doesn't really become arduous until you've unlocked a good number of them. As for veteran ranks, well tbh what is not to like about the stat increases for vet ranks... so long as you don't mind the fact that its the same stat increases regardless of what character you play that is.. meaming that some characters benefit far less from those stats than others.

"What's not to like about the stat increases" is that the devs took MONTHS to finally reach a game balance that felt challenging and rewarding with 1.08 only to destroy that balance the very next month by making all powers 40% stronger for no other reason than to string us along for longer in the hopes we would buy more packs. I currently search out shitty, low level players now on gold just to return some of that challenge.

...they also chose the wrong stats to boost. Rather than boost power damage they should have given the bonus to power recharge speed since that's what we've been asking for since day one.

I played a bunch of MEA when it launched but due to disappointment with the state of the game at launch and real life issues had to put Mass Effect and gaming in general on a backburner for a while. Now that things have stabilized a bit and the game got patched more I was thinking of getting back to some MEA. Wanted to ask how the game has changed since 1.06, since that's when I stopped playing, and what is the state of the playerbase? It is fantastic apparently. I also took a break shortly after 1.08, but now it seems better than ever. Greatly enjoying my recent platinum builds
