Give us a fucking claymore already. The Claymore sucks balls with no reload cancelling. It's better they don't add it, so you can keep the rosey glasses on. Maybe, but it would rock with turbocharge. So i rest my case.

Turbocharge has a 20 second cooldown meaning you can only access it 2 to 3 times per wave. It's kinda balls. Would not do the Claymore justice.

I swear its just hurricane and dhan all day long... unless your "shyts and giggles" mode, there is absolutely nothing else. There are actually 5 useful guns don't forget Rozerad Shorty & Shadow The last two additions - Silhesh and Shorty - have been monsters. Shorty outclasses everything else at or near equal level. I've been incredibly lucky and have it at IX, despite still having one original UR unmaxed (Piranha VI). It's light (weighs 25 at IX), has very high damage, low recoil, reasonable accuracy, and a high enough RoF to prime very quickly. I only have the Silhesh at II, but it's comparable in practical damage output at that level to the Rozerad and Hurricane, which are both maxed.

Hurricane out performs every single auto fire weapon in the game, rozerad and shadow are "ok." Dropping enemies wise, in any speed test. The charge up for rozerad just takes to long (yes 0.5 seconds is still 0.5 seconds of an enemy not being dead), and the shadow only even matters if the enemy is so far away (and standing still for headshots...) for the hurricane to not matter. Realistically, as in gameplay wise though, if the enemy is that far away, they barely have any effect on YOU even with 1000% accuracy and damage weapons.
The best weapon in the game hands down is the dhan. Not just because I like it. (I like it because its the best). Single shot weapon with fast reload, decent RoF and shield/headshot bonus. No other gun drops enemies faster with proper shooting. The only "drawback" of this gun is its travel time to a target. But its worth adapting, the only other gun that even potentially comes close is the Black Widow on a headshot/weakpoints master.
Silhesh gets beat out by the hurricane in pure damage and rof, its the "middle lane" between it and rozerad. Even with tracking, which is just bullet delay, the hurricane is doing damage that 1st to last bullet. Shorty, is not as good as everyone is saying it is...compared to dhan-hurricane it still falls shorter.
Take into account every situation where you would use a gun, distance, damage, rof, accuracy, enemy health~weapon damage ratio. With all those things taken into account, the "best" weapons for overall all situations are the dhan and hurricane.

I went through a long put-the-Dhan-on-everything phase, and I have two of its variants, so I'm well acquainted with its strengths. It is very good.
It's still outclassed by the Shorty.

Gentlemen, it appears we have a tie. They're both great guns but only one can be the BEST. Let's go to the tie breaker round. Here's a picture of the Shorty: Now here's an in-game picture of the Dhan: I think we have a clear winner here folks. I'll be sticking to the Shorty.

Whatever feelings you guys have about the shorty are more than likely because of preference. I know from what chickenchamp is saying comes just from boredom. But no, in game wise and paper list wise, the dhan is still "overall" king. Can Be viewed in its entirety here. The shorty drops enemies, there is no doubt about that, but the shorty can't hit shit at max "shockwave distance" and all 3 burst must land to even be concidered. Dhan is a plasma cannon that shoots 1 accurate slightly tracking cannon ball. With weakpoint bonus. Dhan is the champ. Green Dick picks lie...

Scattershot > shorty > dhan fer real. On Vanguards the lack of a need to reload is a huge bonus, so I'll acknowledge it's particularly competitive there. But overall? Not remotely close, IMO.

Dhan is a plasma cannon that shoots 1 accurate slightly tracking cannon ball. With weakpoint bonus. Dhan is the champ. Green Dick picks lie... While I acknowledge I have nobody to blame but myself for the presumption that I'm trolling, in this instance I am not. I'm on my way into the office, and so have too little time and far too much sadness to engage properly in a math-related debate. Perhaps the Dhan wins marginally by the numbers, but in practice I find the Shorty both more effective and more satisfying to use. The very fact that, as you acknowledge, subjectivity can skew so many to favor the Shorty, or even to consider them "tied" -- by which I am not presuming everyone here agrees with me, but I can say that everyone with whom I have both played and discussed comparisons of the two has -- entirely belies your argument that anything but the Dhan and Hurricane are useless save for "shyts and giggles." Also, as Joe pointed out so eloquently.. I don't have an iota of homophobia, so while it doesn't bother me, you have to admit it's a bit weird that the extremely-dildo-shaped gun also happens to ejaculate a packet of plasma with a distinctive "splort" sound. None of the other plasma-based weapons share this characteristic, so methinks it was intended as a bit of a joke. In any event, it's not nearly as satisfying as the Shorty's percussive "BLAM-BLAM-BLAM, BLAM-BLAM-BLAM, BLAM-BLAM-BLAM." All else being equal, the gun that's an old-school Batman panel come to life is gonna win out over the jizzumblaster every time.

Quality of life:
* improve the UR drop rate - seriously, just reward those of us that are sticking with the game. Double or triple it.
* elemental ammo packs - a resupply pack with one of each consumable and one of each elemental ammo, and with random ranks for the ammo's. Price it fairly.
* lower mission fund prices. Commons for, oh, 15, Ucommons for 30, rares for 45, URs for 360. Consumables for 2. Specific boosters (all rank 3) for 6 (including ammos, of course).

I am just sad that people are not really playing this game anymore.
Just try to find a lobby on PS4. Not very easy at all anymore.
Patch 1.09 store update ruined this game permanently. I doubt if any news or change will improve this game to extend its life.

I agree that the scattershot Siphon is the best for any kit without munitions training, at least if you don't have the Siphon variants of the UR shotguns (like me). It has absurd sustained dps with its generally high damage per shot for its RoF, huge clip, and super low refresh time (the entire clip comes back almost instantaneously, and the time it takes to begin recharging seems shorter than most reload times, happens while stagger/running).
On munitions training kits I usually take hesh Siphon instead (8 pellets trigger debuff more quickly). Would take shorty Siphon if I had it, but probably wouldn't take plain shorty over hesh Siphon.

It saddens me to hear so many people on this board talk about using Siphon variants of weapons. We can't complain about the loot pool explosion in one breath then praise and recommend these lore breaking, vampiric bullshit weapons in the next. Bioware keeps data on weapon usage, so unless you guys want to see the same thing happen in 2032 when the next Mass Effect game comes out, I'd recommend boycotting the variant guns that we all claim to hate. The game's more fun when there's a bit of challenge anyway.

The game's more fun when there's a big of challenge anyway. Acknowledging that they're the most effective weapons isn't at all the same as representing that they should have been added (especially in the manner implemented) or that they're fun or good design. If BW determines that the variant shit was fine because the telemetry data suggests that one variant is used frequently (especially when they're all strictly better than the base version), notwithstanding that the player base took a nosedive immediately after the loot dump, great. Let their next game crash and burn as well, and let this nonsense die in the fire.
