I’ve noticed that ammo/grenade boxes periodically replenish to full during a long wave (i.e. when I’m soloing). Does anyone know how long the delay is?

I've never noticed that. I thought it was always just no resupply until end of wave, but every player has their like own supply whereas me3 was shared.

In my quick tests a while back for Platinum, I noticed that the Ammo crates would restore approximately every 5 minutes after being used. I could be wrong on the exact time, but it does restore within the round/wave if enough time passes.
:: edit ::
OK it looks more like it's around 3 minutes per refresh. Normally far longer than any wave/round would take so most won't notice it.

I am not the fastest soloer, so I will need all the grenades that I can get if I want to complete a Platinum solo with my scrubby Angara Avenger. Just hide, throw grenades and repeat.

3 minutes was my gut feeling as well. It *may* be shorter on easier difficulties, but I haven't tested that.

I thought it was based on the number of boxes emptied. If you spam grenades while running a lap and you take from all the ammo boxes on the level the first will instantly refresh so you always have at least 1 box with ammo

All ammo boxes supply 4 (individual) grenades and ammo once?
Also, I have/had no clue about them replenishing DURING a wave. I don't solo, and if any single wave is taking over 5 minutes, even in platinum, its time to fucking leave.

Yeah, one "load" is 4 power cells, and full ammo of whatever weapons you have, either one or 2. I think it takes the most depleted one into account. So if you have weapon 1 with 50% ammo left, and weapon 2 with 75% ammo left, the crate should deplete 50%, while refilling both weapons. It can also refill 2 weapons that were completely out of ammo, consumming it's full charge.
And yes, they definately replenish during a wave, noticed it several times.
