This is not new content.It's been in the game for months. Every character mentioned in the blog post was datamined in early July, meaning they were included in the 1.09 patch and kept under lock and key until now. No, Bioware did not continue making MP stuff after the plug got pulled. No, EA did not contract another team to create these characters. It's more of the same shit that they pulled during the support cycle for MP, add a marginal amount of new stuff in a patch and then keep a portion of it time-gated so they could have a drip feed of content. What does the physical location of the bits have to do with anything? The post you're quoting quite literally addresses time primarily, not location...

Exactly so.
OTOH, it does matter for discussing when Bio worked on the content. But if they hadn't pushed the content to us already -- they could have left it just sitting on an EA server someplace until the release date -- we wouldn't know what the process was. What we've got is actually more transparent.

I was really looking forward to MEA MP. The trustworthy and consistent feedback I saw made me stay away. I'm on PS4, so I have to pay-to-play. I would've done so for another ME3 MP. By all accounts, MEA MP cannot compare. I tried ME3MP, I even wanted to like it, but alas. Already spoiled by MEAMP... its so good & fluid for me. I really enjoy MEAMP on a casual level. If EAware offered at least real support anymore for it, I might even be inclined to do the occasional microtransaction, but since all we're getting is the already done timegated stuff I feel the 40 bucks they got from me for the game on sale around 1.09 is all they deserve. Sadly in light of them pulling the plug on support, lobby queues for bronze and silver hardly ever fill even during primetime now so there's even less incentive to drop the occasional 5-10 bucks on andromeda points. Way to leave money the table, EAware.

Oh, for FFS, MP is just as dead as SP. They put a few kits in in July and put them on an automated lock-down timer, so it's just made to look like continuous support. The balance-changes aren't more than overwriting a few numbers, and we haven't had that in months, and they haven't announced anything about it, except "yeah, soon -- we'll see".

Because they are already there, and cannot be fixed by a patch while also never being tested by the playerbase - let's be honest we are their beta team. So, you have old content that cannot be patched, that everyone knows exists due to datamining, being introduced as new content. It is akin to selling milk past it's date by simply putting a new date sticker on it.

Ah. Gotcha. I'm pretty insensitive to those issues -- I don't MP enough to know or care about balance -- but yeah, zero iterations is just throwing something up and hoping it sticks.
