Would Bi Jaal have existed if Andromeda was a success?

And it's not just everything that was already missing, like no M/M alien romance and no M/M squadmate romance. I think Gil's storyline had a negative reception on the internet - places like Tumblr and Twitter that are very interactive with the developers - maybe not a majority but enough so that it got attention, and Reyes barely has content and is also...kinda skeevy (I quite like Reyes' romance but he is not a nice guy). So, yes would be my answer, to the OP's question. Even if everything else in Andromeda was perfect, that would still be a big black mark on the game.

I haven't researched his original conception nor do I care to, so I don't actually know if Jaal was always bi or if this is a similar situation to Kaidan/Ashley in ME1 where they either recorded the lines because originally same sex Shepard could have romanced them or they recorded the lines just for flags and K/A were always meant to be straight (by that I mean bi-Jaal coding being there for purely gaming purposes and not actual story content), but I think after the specific reaction to M/M romances, not Andromeda in general, Bi Jaal would have come into existence, if he was not already there in the first place and just not fully integrated into the game. If it was done right it would be the answer to most of the problems/complaints, and from what I've heard it was done right.

Given how far they stepped backwards from the previous games, I'd say yes.

If I could have made it so that every single person who contributed to the Romance discussion thread, myself included, never saw the light of a bi-Jaal romance, but everyone else who bought the game did, I would be happy with that trade
