I don't have all that much experience on Andromeda MP compared to the likes of, say, RayLuc. But I'm a ME3 veteran returning to the MP scene. I've seen pretty much everything on ME MP - from marriage proposals to death threats (I could write a fanfic on that stuff).

Beware of Yzaraz. I've spotted them a few times on gold and silver; they proceed to hide behind a crate/cover, don't fire a single bullet and just die out. In short, they're just there to earn the credits. The last I saw, they were APEX 600~. Last time I saw them on a silver match performing the same leeching antics they'd done on a gold, I sent them a message after. Well things got a little bit nasty. I'm not going to use the kind of language my parents raised me to refrain from, but you get the idea. Anyways they used some excuse about having five children and not being able to sleep all night.

Really, if you're playing a game then why not play? I'm not going to fall for sob stories like that - everyone has their own sob stories anyway. How much money and time has this person cost people in real life (that goes for in-game and real life)?! One person sitting out and leeching off others just makes it harder for the other honest three people playing. It doesn't matter what difficulty level; the principle is the same!

So be on the lookout for Yzuraz.

I don't think it was ever confirmed. The function description doesn't say anything about it either: "Blocked Origin users are unable to see your profile, check your online status, send you gifts or send you messages. You won't be able to message them either."

The new Origin invite system obviously doesn't work as per the aforementioned but I'm still unsure if it also works that way in-game. Depends on whether the game's match-making system has some link to Origin online status or that it just looks at players trying to connect to lobbies, I would guess.

@op: There have been several of late, as you may have read. Annoying, there's really no other word for it...

To be fair, we don't really need a block function because most people on PC aren't complete douchelords. Probably because public platinum pugs are so hard to find now even leechers don't want to spend 5 minutes sitting in a lobby by themselves . :-/

I did actually run into Yzuraz (on PS4) tonight in a Platinum lobby. I landed in said lobby accidentally - I have next to no desire to play on Platinum! I hated it in ME3, and I've only played the one Platinum match in Andromeda (needless to say, I can think of less painful ways to torture myself!).

But why I saw this guy/person on a Platinum match, I'll never know. His/her argument to me was that everyone is entitled to give kick votes. When playing on Bronze and Silver, you're almost certainly playing with less experienced players who don't know that they can actually issue kick votes in-game - I know that I didn't to begin with. Yzuraz is taking advantage of players who don't know that it's possible to kick people mid-match. And if only two out of three people issue a kick-vote, he/she still doesn't get kicked.

But by playing on higher difficulties like Platinum, he/she's inevitably going to run into people who are more experienced with the game and who know how to kick - and will definitely use said power if someone isn't pulling their weight.

When I ran into Yzuraz tonight, he/she was Apex ~ 2500 or so. All that free money from leeching has enabled him/her to advance that much. That just doesn't sit well with me. It's not right, and it's not fair - not to all the people who pour their heart and soul into every match, and who put their all in - even when times are dire. People like Yzuraz should not be allowed to flourish.

I've definitely been annoyed at scrubs hiding under the shrub of shame on Paradox, but if I was gonna call anybody a leecher, it would be Andromeda and by proxy biower sucking off the trust earned from ME123. I still can't believe I got conned into preordering the super deluxe edition. $30 for ~6 ranks of ultrarares spread out over 4 months. I've just dipped into the new Gwent game and bought the $5 start kit and got 20 useful cards for the game including a couple of top tier goodies.

God this drives me nuts!

I had a player in a silver round play the first two rounds, completely drop his controller and stand idol up until wave 7. Then he magically returned right at that time and died 3 times before making it to extraction. (2 of which I had to pull a superman to get him)

After the game I called him out and he came on the mic and explained that his ps4 "froze" and unfroze right at the beginning of wave 7.

Possible? yes. Likely? NOOOOO.

Another point would be that the game gives character level recommendations for bronze, silver, and gold. Not by their own fault, this gives newer players the idea that if they have a level 20 character but only an 800 apex rating they can jump into a gold match. We all know how that usually goes. I don't care how good you were in ME3, Andromeda is a completely different beast. I wish the character level recommendations would be omitted.
