Twitchy Questioning 20: Doomtwitch [final thread]
On 27 April 2017, I was having a terrible day at work, so I decided to take a long lunch to watch the Bioware Twitch stream and ask a few questions. Thus began a five month journey that expanded to 20 threads, more than a dozen salads consumed, hundreds of questions, and (I hope) entertainment and enlightenment for all. This is the final Twitchy Questioning thread. I won't be asking any more questions, but perhaps we can use this as a way to gain some closure. AcknowledgementsI want to thank Nat In The Hat, JuggerNuggss, and paunchycyclops for encouraging me to continue the Twitchy Questioning after the first one-off thread. It was their idea that I serve as a spokesman and punching bag for BSN. I want to thank all of you for reading and contributing questions! What We LearnedThis shit is hard. It's hard to write good questions that are concise, polite, and not loaded. It's hard to gain consensus on what is important to a community. It's presumably hard for Bioware to know which questions to respond to, and how. I am *astonished* at the number of questions fielded by Fernando Melo (DiscoBabaloo), Bastiaan Frank, and Billy Buskell (before he departed). And I am grateful for their patience. Thread TitlesThe first thread title, Twitchy Questioning, was simply a cutesy title that I tossed off. Every title after that was a play on words on a movie or book title. Threads 2 through 10 are movie titles, and threads 11 through 20 are book titles. Originally I tried to stick to sci-fi and fantasy movies and books, but I eventually expanded to other genres when I started to run out. Here's the entire list: 20: Doomtwitch (Doomwyte, Redwall series by Brian Jacques)
19: Le Gouffre Aux Twitches (Le Gouffre Aux Garous, 19th in the series La Compagnie des glaces (‘The Ice Company’) by the French writer Georges-Jean Arnaud)
18: Commander Shepard in the West Twitchies (1636: Commander Cantrell in the West Indies, 1632 series by Eric Flint in his recommended reading order)
17: Death Draws Questions (Death Draws Five, Wild Cards series by George R.R. Martin)
16: The Questions of Darktwitch (The Winds of Darkover, Darkover series by Marion Zimmer Bradley) (totally overlooked that I already used this series for #11, d’oh!)
15: The Masterquestioner of Pern (The Masterharper of Pern, Dragonriders of Pern series by Anne McCaffrey)
14: Questions in Flux (Flinx in Flux, 14th novel chronologically [not counting short stories] in the Commonwealth series by Alan Dean Foster) (OK, I had to twist the counting to get this to be #14, but this was too awesome of a title not to use)
13: Questionmatic Twitchmunity (Diplomatic Immunity, Vorkosigan Saga series by Lois McMaster Bujold)
12: A Twitch of the Horsequestions (A Woman of the Horseclans, Horseclans series by Robert Adams)
11: The Forbidden Twitch (The Forbidden Tower, Darkover series by Marion Zimmer Bradley)
10: The Question from U.N.B.S.N. (The Man from U.N.C.L.E. 10)
9: War for the Twitch of the Questions (Planet of the Apes 9 War for the Planet of the Apes)
8: BSN Questions Manhattan (Friday the 13th 8 Jason Takes Manhattan)
7: Questions Are Forever (James Bond 7 Diamonds Are Forever)
6: The Undiscovered Question (Star Trek 6 The Undiscovered Country)
5: Attack of the Questions (Star Wars 5 Attack of the Clones) (the 5th movie released)
4: BSN and the Goblet of Twitch (Harry Potter 4 ~ and the Goblet of Fire)
3: Return of the Twitch (Lord of the Rings 3 Return of the King)
2: Twitchier and Questionier (Fast and the Furious 2: 2 Fast 2 Furious)
1: Twitchy Questioning
ConclusionI know there will be those who will take this opportunity to rage at Bioware, heap scorn on the developers, and make fun of me. If puerile message board ranting is how you choose to present yourself in public when you are upset, go for it. For everyone else, I hope you got something worthwhile out of all these threads. - JRandall0308 Asker of Questions

Thanks for all your efforts and for trying to get some clarity about some of the many many issues this game unfortunately has. I just wish the game was better and we could then have had a longer period of support, a growing instead of declining playerbase and therefore also more dialogue with the devs.

Thx again, JR!
O, and I found this piece of ancient remnant literature which I think foretold all this. A small excerpt:
And through the salt the late Montreal Did send a dismal Fiend: Nor sync of men nor beasts we ken- The lag was all between.
The sync was here, the kill was there, The Fiend was all around: It cracked and growled, and roared and howled, Like Asari-induced swound!
At length twitch cross, J Randall's posts, Thorough the fog he came; As if he had been a Quarian soul, We trolled him in Geth's name.
He asked the queries ne'er asked, And round and round he spew The salt did split with a combo-fit; BSN steered us through!
And a good debuff sprung up behind; JRs question's did follow, And every twitch, for food or play, Came to the developer's holler!
In hate or love, on-host or off, He camped for vespers nine; Whiles all the night, through snap-freeze white, Glimmered the white Moon-shine.
'Geth save thee, ancient Questioner! From the Fiends, that plague thee thus!- Why look'st thou so?'- With my Sandstorm I shot:

Ok, it's late a bit, but still...
What if Bioware makes a special support crew (3-4 men) which could -- in theory -- expand MEA:MP on a paid basis; I mean, through something like Kickstarter. Of course they never doind so, but it would be interesting to know their opinion about it.

Thanks JRandall0308 for asking the questions. I think you have a talent for that sort of thing and, if it didn't pay so terribly, I'd recommend a career using those talents.

Thanks Randall, these were good threads. I mean, there was no mention of buying a wood chipper and putting a dog in it due to hatred of Adhis but still quality. Well, I'm off to be a contributor that everyone can be proud of and find a thread to post some girl shaking her ass.

Thanks for your efforts, JRandall0308!
It's too bad the devs didn't put as much work into their answers as you put into the questions.
(Also, the poem above is not from Coleridge; it is paraphrased/developed from "The Jabberwocky" by Lewis Carroll, who is also a great author and poet. Great post, Scathane!).

Thanks, everyone, for the king words!!!
Anthem looks like a Destiny clone in which I have zero interest. However, I do have two "gifts" for the Anthem fans that will be revealed at the appropriate time. Let's just say I have a long memory.
Dragon Age: the more I (try to) re-play these games, the more I realize that Bioware is still designing CRPGs like it was the 1990s. I can't play those games any more; they are too fiddly and require too much OCD. (I fully realize the weirdness of me being the one to complain about OCD!) So again, no interest in DA4.

JRandall0308 thank you for the effort you put into this, I really apprecieated it. People like you make this whole foruming stuff worthwhile. I'm not sure if you're feeling like repeating thread like this for the future bioware games (if they will twitch stream them), but I think you did very good job here and I would enjoy another go. Cheers!

Thanks angrybobh . What do you think is the best way to list these skills on my résumé? Maybe anti-BS vision and resistance to forum fires? Or maybe just 'ability to use brain'. You know, that is becoming an uncommon trait. I think turning some of our screaming and whining into some really good questions has to be a skill of some use but, I don't know how you would word that on a résumé.
