Ever since the great weapon bloat of 1.09, ammo drops at rare intervals. It seems that it doesn't matter what pack you buy, there is just never enough ammo to equip the character to benefit from ammo buffs (at least the ones that work correctly, not like cry ammo.) Now that I have all my rare characters to XX, they need some ammo, and all I have is a bunch of level 1 cry ammo and no way to get enough to use regularly.
Are there any strategies to getting more ammo, or are we doomed to wait and see/not see what develops after Fernando's comments last week?

If your concern is priming rather than the damage boost - i.e. if level I ammos are acceptable rather than III-IV - Jumbo Supply Packs will meet your needs. I don't know if they always drop ammo, because I stopped even turning the cards over a long time ago, but if you throw 100-200k credits at JEPs you'll be set on ammo for a while.
I haven't played in a while, but I had a habit of buying a JEP after about every fourth Gold or every other Plat. Mostly because I was usually running low on ops packs, but it had the side benefit that I was never short of ammo even though I equipped one probably 60-70% of the time.

Thanks, that is exactly what I do now, and the only ammo I currently have in inventory is level 1, or cryo I-III. Equipping level 1 ammo only works with the Hurricane; it doesn't give enough "bump" to make a difference to any other weapons. I just don't get enough drops of level III-IV ammo to be able to use it as an effective primer with higher damage weapons. Higher level Disruptor ammo would be a benefit to any Biotic or Combat Power character (or any character, really). Just wishful musing at this point, I guess.

I could be wrong, but I don't believe the priming rate varies between ammo ranks. The only different between, e.g. disruptor I and III is the greater damage boost from the latter. I routinely used rank I ammos in both Gold and Plat.

Thanks for a well designed game, biower! Love the cryo ammo that doesn't work and screws up other effects, btw...

I don’t see how you could run out especially after amassing a stockpile from Advanced Packs to max out Uncommon gear. Unless you’re using ammo every game, for whatever reason.

I don’t see how you could run out especially after amassing a stockpile from Advanced Packs to max out Uncommon gear. Unless you’re using ammo every game, for whatever reason. Funny how that worked; I did exactly that. Somehow I ended up with large quantities of boosters I never use (e.g. 75 Ammo Capacity I, 55 Ammo Capacity II, tons of Cryo 1 ammo, lots of Experience Enhancers, etc.) and very few boosters above level II that were actually useful. Then 1.09 weapon bloat took over, and I started getting weapon variants and few boosters. I do use boosters every game, but I have never had enough ammo to use it every game...

Those Ammo Capacity mods actually come in handy when using a Thokin or Hurricane, I’ve found. Moreso with low-grade weapons of course since they have less spare ammo than maxed guns. Or stuff that dumps ammo pretty quick.

Some classes I don't ever use ammo for because they already have enough primers as is (vanguards, adepts) but some classes like the 35% weapon damage engs and some soldier classes I almost always use ammo for.
Just have to accept that the game is over... :oki:
I mean, unless bioware somehow dumps everything desired on last day, (when there will literally be NO ONE online because destiny 2 will be out)

I'm just ready to spend my 3 million creds, the Artificer needs to be released this Thursday, otherwise, I'm really buying Destiny 2, not just renting it. And next month it's Battlefront 2 time, so I really don't know why they are still holding the last kits back, when the game now puts me in my own empty lobby, even when I search for U/U games. And I have no idea how this connects to your topic, but I had to get it out somewhere.
