I mean, common, there have been a few changes across the board. Best example Flemeth, going from Classic old hag in the woods To more of a Naughty America version Elves going from more younger looking, slim humans to DA II weirdos... luckily they toned it down a bit in DAI, but they ended up looking more malnourished instead. Qunari grew a pair of horns ( Vitaar was a good addition though), think they could have went with more "alien" facial features ( of all the races, their faces are closest to human). Dwarves remained pretty much the same though.

There's inevitably going to be changes based on technical issues, player feedback and engine changes. For instance, they always wanted qunari to have horns but they couldn't make it work in Origins.

They're probably gonna continue tweaking elves until they get that ethereal/otherworldly/moderately disquieting effect they're clearly going for. I applaud the attempt if not necessarily the execution.

I doubt they'll make anymore huge changes now that they've got a handle on the Frostbite engine. I feel like they've finally hit the sweet spot with elves, where they're not humans with pointy ears but they still look like they belong in the setting.
It's possible qunari foreheads will get a little craggier as a nod to DA2, but overall I don't expect anymore extreme makeovers. They didn't even bother changing Morrigan's outfit!

I like where everything ended up in DAI as far as racial looks (wow that's not something you'd get away with outside of the internet XD). I'm glad they didnt stick with DAO or DA2. Flemeth was a strange change but I guess Mythal is vain and uses magic on those breasts? Old ladys tits on are not that perky!

I applaud the attempt if not necessarily the execution. I don't think dragon age was ever going for that look with the elves. The otherworldly part yeah but not the ethereal part. Especially with them trying to differentiate themselves from the tolkien sterotype and if they really wanted to, they probably would of made them look that way in inquisition. However, they might look better in DA4 only because of the updated graphics or maybe better hair(wishful thinking) I just hope they fix the bodies on both genders. I dislike how unproportional and scrawny they are. You could make a beautiful or handsome male or female elf facially, but their bodies are way too skinny at least imo. They clearly were going for lithe and graceful but they came out looking lanky and awkward. Hope they fix it in da4 or at least give us a choice to choose our body shape. Other than that, I think all the races look pretty good. I don't mind minor tweaks but I hope they don't do anymore major changes.

The Orlesians nd Antivans had such thick accents it bordered only silliness. Try watching videos of Fenriel's father or Ninette's husband. The Dalish elves had irish accents suddenly. Qunari looked completely alien. Dwarves were all portrayed as rich business men. The stereotypes were a bit too much for me. Gypsie elves, Jewish dwarves, etc.

I think they could stand to give male elves something closer to Solas' physique. Beyond that I'm pretty happy with what they've done so far.

I think as they are now the character designs don't need to be changed. Elves certainly don't need to be made to look etheral. Of course you could go full weird and make them like divinity's Isn't Flemeth in a brand new body in DA2? Why should she look the same? Not everyone kills her.

Just one more time, so the Qunari won't look like fat cows anymore and elves' heads will be proportional to their body size.

I just hope they fix the bodies on both genders. Agreed. I think all games screwed up elves in some way, in my opinion. I liked that they were way shorter than humans in DAO, but then they looked like tiny humans, there was nothing special or different about their faces. In DA2 they looked a bit weird to me, too cartoonish maybe, but I think that's has more to do with the engine than anything else, but they had the right idea on making their faces look more unique and elfy. In DAI, I feel like they nailed the faces (you can make some pretty good elves in the CC) but not the bodies, not only are they almost the same height as humans, it looked like they hadn't eaten in weeks. I'm bitter that they gave Sera and Solas a regular body while the Inquisitor looked like a scrawny teenager next to them. If races can have different body types (which they clearly can, Iron Bull is another example of that) then yes, they need to give us body sliders in DA4. Or at least let us choose from skinny, normal and bulkier. I also hope they will improve the qunari, if we'll get to play that race again. I honestly didn't like how they looked in DAI (the lack of hair didn't make it any easier). And I felt like most of the times their heads were too small for their bodies. Or maybe their bodies were too big for their heads. I prefer how they looked on one of their concept arts.

I dont mind slightly reinterpreting the design if they were limited by older generation technology previously. But I absolutely hate major retcons for no choice.
I hated DA2 when it came out for changing the darkspawn, elves, and qunari so much.
Thankfully DAI fixed the elves and qunari. But we are still left with stupid looking darkspawn when we had badass blighted orcs in Origins.

Or maybe their bodies were too big for their heads. I prefer how they looked on one of their concept arts. Yea I totally agree. I didn't mind how the elves looked in origins, but I didn't like how short they were. I really appreciated what they tried to do with them in da2, make them look more unique but the excution was poorly done. They definitely looked unique and more like their own race, but most ppl hated their redesign and I didn't find them attactive, with the exception of some.( I did like their nose bridges though) They looked pretty in the concept art but ingame not so much. Inquisition's elves should of had Solas and sera's body shape. Contrary to popular belief, most people think they gave solas a different body type but they didn't. He actually has the same body type as the male elves in the game but his defualt armor and skyhold clothing disguise it really well. If you put him in the same armor as the male elf you can see they have the same body type, so it seems like the devs knew it was a problem. They pretty much reused most of the body models for the races from da2 maybe they wanted to change it but didn't have enough time idk. Sera on the other hand, her body shape is not the same as the female elves, so she either got the human females body but like solas, they used clothing to disguise it or gave her her own. As for the qunari, I did notice that as well but mainly with the male qunari. Their heads are definitely too small in most cases, even iron bulls head is too small for his body. Bioware really needs to work on the elves and qunari a bit more at least body wise. Overall, it seems like not everyone is satisfied with the default models for every race. I heard some ppl complaining that the human male was too bulky. This issue would be solved if they just gave us body sliders or set proportional body models to choose from.

Yes. Because the Qunari head is not alien enough not proportionate enough. And the hair types are baaaaad.
And the elven people are still a bit off. I feel like the reason we've seen three versions isn't just because of engine changes, but because they can't settle on what they're supposed to be. I think they did get close with Sera, though.
