How do you want them to handle armor and equipment in DA4? Any kinds of armor you want to see? New ideas?
I personally want to see some nice plate armor. I like playing as knight style characters and I like to look the part. Inquisition felt a bit lacking in that regard.

I want a return of some of the styles that were in DA2.
More variations in robes for mages. Do get me wrong having actual armor for my mages was nice but I want more variety than just three.
The ability to craft any armor in the game including those that NPC's wear.

Adding to this: The ability to craft, dye and wear masks. Also, a toggle that allows them, fancy hats, hoods and other helmets to be visible during cutscenes. More elegant outfits like Vivienne's character-specific armor styles for all classes. More makeshift outfits like Sera's character-specific armor styles for all classes. More outfits with scarfs for all classes. Trenchcoats with sleeves for all classes. Spoils of the Qunari-style armor for all classes.

Add more variety to the ones in dai, and we're good. But I definitely want the robes Alexius and Felix had

I quite liked the styles of armor in DAI, especially the layering different materials together (metal/leather/cloth). Looking forward to seeing what styles they come up with in Tevinter. I'd love to see proper cloaks in DA. They look great and emphasize motion. I especially like the off-the-one-shoulder look. They were also experimenting with tarnish shaders in DAI, but never implemented them. It'd be great if they implemented this in a "battle damage" kind of way. Right now we have blood splatters & materials getting wet, but I'd like to see more - scorch marks, dirt, dents & scratches, cloth and leather getting damaged, etc.. You would then get that cleaned up in camp or at your base.

My main problem with DAI's armor was the lack of variety. And the ability to tint should've been there since the start (still, there wasn't even an actual black color, which was frustrating). And honestly the few armor variations that we did have didn't look that great to me, specially the ones for the ladies. It certainly doesn't help that, with most of the armor, you can see Skyhold's horrendous PJ's. Thank God for mods that let the female Inquisitor use Sera's and Vivienne's armor. For some reason Bioware always gives the protagonist the most plain armor, while companions have the best styles. My ideal lady armor would be something along the lines of: (Nothing too revealing, but feminine nonetheless. I want more plate and leather armor. And leather that actually looks like leather and not plastic. Also, class restricted armor sucks. Either remove that completely or give us an easy way to unlock all armor in game.)

I generally loved the way it was handled in DAI, though I would like to see a couple more variations per character.

I like to have Flemeth's armor
I like to wear the same armor as what the companions wear.
Maybe be able to craft jewelry, rings and amulets, in the next game. Heck, lets get crazy. Craft a crown for the main character.

Starting with having the ability to wear actual full plate armor would be nice.
I didn't like the DAI armor style. I didn't like its variety, which was lacking especially in heavy armor, and the colors where not really impressive. The variations were basic and the lack of an actual black color was evident, or at least, darker than "obsidian".

More armor for non-humans, holy fuck. Especially qunari, but really, elves and dwarves also have a smaller selection than humans... it's irritating. Literally the only armor I really love on my female qunari is the Stone-Bear Armor, and that's DLC.
I hope they keep the companion-specific armor style thing, though. I LOVED this feature. It takes most armor and makes it look in-character on any given companion without it being completely static and boring like DA2's everyone-wears-the-same-thing-for-seven-years armor system.

Tbh, I would never turn down more options for clothing, hair, armor, or other kinds of personal adornment. Would be nice if we could add tattoos in game at a parlor, or equip jewelry that shows up in game on the character. Like you find a ring of critical chance and it turns out to look like brass knuckles or something. There would still be the Black Emporium, but that would be for full makeovers.

I liked armour crafting in DAI but in da4 I'd like if instead of having bonuses based both on material tier and schematic tier they just do away with schematic tiers and have the stats based entirely on materials used to craft it.
That way I can pick whichever one I like the look of instead of feeling like I have to use a tier 4 when I think a tier 3 looks better etc. Then have more unique styles instead of having a slightly different variation on the same one for each tier.

I think that the concept of what Inquisition tried to do, in terms of having a base armor and then having modifications that could be added to it, was very good in theory.
In practice I don't think it quite worked, neither from a mechanical or a graphics standpoint. But I think they're on the right track and I'd like to see them continue with it.

I would like to see mix of DA2 armor (it had probably the best heavy armor design in the series. And don't forget "biker-mage" Hawke) and some DAI design (I liked coats on my rogues) and possibilities (crafting, changing colours, etc.). I would also like to make all armors wearable by anyone if they have enough strength (or any other needed atribute), with advantages (better protection, other bonuses) and disadvantages (fatigue) like in Origins.

I'd like an option for the PC and their companions to always wear their default armor, as well as a transmog system. Being forced into ugly armor for the stats makes me sad.

The kind I rip off the dead bodies of my enemies. The gorgeous cosmetic overlay outfits coming as rewards for doing MAJOR quests in the story-line. No penalties for those who does not want any crafting. If I wanted to play a farmer, an artisan, a tailor and a smith, I'd be playing Sims.
Also, an option of Vitaars instead of helmets for all races. Just face it, BiOWARE, helmets are never gonna look good in these games, so can we have the awesome face paint that actually works and looks awesome instead?

It might be nice to see more ancient elven armor and weapons. I'd imagine they resemble what the Tolkien elves use. More of a high elf aesthetic as opposed to the dalish's wood elf aesthetic.

I think the crafting system in DA:I was THE best on a Bioware game. It was simple and it had a nice variation.
However, I would still like to craft gloves and boots as well. I liked the armor set bonus in Origins/DA2 and I like to make my character wear different pieces of clothes. I would really like if we could add some kind of crest in our armor, like The Inquisition symbol, the Grey Warden symbol, dragons, wolves, whatever. It would add a personal touch and making every armor look different Imagine NPCs calling you for different nicknames depending on the crest you're using. "Ser, because of your armor (a dragon) and the fact you're an elf, they are starting to call you the "knife-ear dragon" (ok, that was stupid and I'm going too deep into it, but it would be nice)

In the Dragon Age universe, armor can protect against magical attacks so... to help them deal with magical threats. Sorry, I couldn't think of a better way to answer this without sounding like a smartass. Enchanted armour would do the same, AND it would be lighter. Plate was used as a method to turn away metal, slicing swords, piercing arrows, and in the later period early gunfire (which is why later period plate was thicker than early period plate.) One of the ways to defeat plate (apart from stabbing at the joints at the armour with a pointy stabbing thing) was to trap the person in the armour and do damage to the body underneath (like with big hammers for example, won't break the plate but will break the bones underneath the plate.) Precisely the sort of thing magic would be excellent at. Just sayin' I seriously question the design choices of any word where plate is the best armour they could come up with against magic

No class/race restrictions would be a good start.... I actually would like to keep some race restrictions. At least the ones that make sense. Like Orzammar, Carta, LotD for dwarves. Dalish, Ancient Elvish for Elves. But Adventurer Armor? That sounds like a universal armor to me. I'll echo the general "more variety" request though.
