IDK, maybe an off host problem but I tried that sandstorm today on turian soldier. The gun is really bad and can't hit no head off host. And it were outlaws on steroid as usual, so, no, thanks, but no, it is no saber, does not hit like it, does not feel like it, just another bad gun in massive pile of garbage.

.... And it were outlaws on steroid as usual, ... Major point that turned me off the game.

On console, I have found sniping in general is much more difficult in MEA over ME3. Enemies move much quicker and are less predictable in their movement (i.e. sharpshooters). If you’re willing to try the Sandstorm again, use it against the Kett; with their larger heads and slower, more deliberate movement, they are easier to hit, even when off-host. The one or two shot build only works if you load up on boosters and equipment. If you’re trying it without them, I can see how you might not like the weapon.

Kett are my favorite enemies for that exact reason. Big squishy heads.

Well ME:A is not based on IRL and that scope pretty much bring Sandstorm to Sniper Rifle direction, and there are many sniper rifle that perform better at this point. Nvm, i just gonna try modding the weapon FOV at this point.

Well ME:A is not based on IRL... Sure it is, it just has a lot of fictitious stuff on top of that as well. As far as I can tell, humans, Earth, the Sol system, the Milky Way, the Andromeda galaxy and Isaac Newton (to name a few) all serve as framework elements for the ME universe. So why not AR scopes? In fact, isn't RL exactly what you based your statement on, albeit wrongly? Or am I to take it you feel ARs shouldn't have scopes solemnly on your gaming experience?

Based on my experience, Sniper Rifle is the only weapon that has default scope when using aim mode in all ME series. If this is other game, then i wouldn't even bother talking about this.

Dudes, it has nothing to do with RL reasons. It's probably just that the designer like the design or felt the gun should have more accuracy and be used at longer ranges.

Sandstorm's scope is present to make it feel different from the halberd (originally). Otherwise they were nearly the same terrible weapon.
I've come to like this gun. Not enough to use it in platinum (mid-range dps), but enough to massacre gold with it. The accuracy is there in every situation, plus it does have the 25% headshot and the clip is so big that I can mod for wall piercing.

I hated it at first, because I hate scopes - or anything that severely limits my FoV in general - but once I realized it's accurate enough when hipfired to consistently land headshots at close-to-midrange I didn't mind. I just mostly hipfire it now.

Wow...this weapon instantly become one of my favorite after i remove the scope UI. The 3rd person aim view make it very easy to swap between target or getting quick headshot while floating in midair.
Most likely it's because im avid Mattock/Saber user on previous series, still im begining to love this weapon even more right now.

Tested this gun the other day on platinum. It's dog shit thanks to its slow rate of fire. By the time you've unloaded a full mag, you'll have been head butted 3 times or forced to run for your life before the clip was empty.
There are far better weapons than this to be used.

Ye, it's godawful. I just get impatient and get it "mitten in die Fresse" instead. No thanks. What good is a gun that doesn't shoot when you need it?
What is it doing actually? Is it gnomes who have to crank some mechanism? It's just there to bloat the loot with its uselessness.

The Sandstorm is good for medium to long range combat, but I'll admit it's not the best for close range combat (hacks and uploads when enemies are rushing you). That's a good enough reason to use that other weapon slot.
All that said, if you don't like it, you don't have to use it. For those that like the new Sandstorm, we'll keep using and enjoying it!

Why do people keep saying that.... the gun is better for sure, but its in no way any saber. I think you guys need to go back to ME3 and see how much damage the saber actually put out. This gun isn't even performing half of that. Inferno has Higher RoF and is behind by 42 damage per shot. +80 RoF more than makes up for that. Ok if you don't have the inferno, then yes I can understand this overestimation, but no sandstorm is still mediocre in this hurricane/dhan reality. And dude, how the hell do people endure that shyty RoF on the sandstorm. I'd rather have it at 300+ with hella compensatible recoil. Still no reason to use most of the mods... I think when you account for the glitched shots that did no damage, the Sandstorm is at least comparable but definitely more reliable, from what I remember.

I remember that happening with the ME3 Crusader, especially early on, but I never heard of it with the Saber.
