Funny, when I was starting my second playthrough, a good portion of me was thinking, "Oh god this is going to suck so much." The first few hours were quite slow and yes the dialogue was quite laughable at certain bits. After Eos those, I felt that the game really got a lot better. GOTY material, depends on who you ask, not my GOTY, besides, I rarely buy new games all that much.

Wish I had your experience, because, I really liked some parts (Kadara, especially meeting with Reyes Vidal). But I got anxiety even before the game started with Alec dying and the first Vault... I just had too much claustrophobia (yes, I really did, I am quite sensitive) and realized I can not go trough them and can't continue the story. If I could somehow only do one vault, I think I could play the game again. I enjoyed the free roaming and the fighting style, and I liked the angaras.
I believe the only required vault is the one on Eos. The rest can be skipped. Doing the final mission turns them on, from what I've heard (haven't played it that way myself).
Edit: there is a cutscene in another vault that you can't avoid but no combat or running around involved. Just a conversation.
I admittedly wish that turning on all the vaults and getting at least 70% viability would get you the better ending. (Or 80%, 90%, or even 100% depending on the difficulty level)

*uh which way to say something negative about Androm....*ahem*...oh..uhm..nvm*..... ......A look back? I still feel the same way i did when i first played this game. It's a mediorce experience....not bad, but not great either. That said, this game's visuals are amazing...... during certain parts of the game, i just stopped and appreciated the artwork. I Also thought the loyalty missions was crafted well......just the overall story and characters lacking. Regardless of that tho...eh, i still felt the game warranted at least some form of DLC. Even if EA wasn't happy with the product, show your employees that you at least stand and support them since y'know you are partly to blame for releasing that thing when it wasn't completely ready yet.....to meet your fiscal year commitments.

This unexpectedly wholesome thread makes me want to finish my 2nd playthrough that I never got around to completing...but I have exams and and still need to buy D2...but I will play again at one point.

Another alternative for getting through that one vault would be to use the skips inside the Eos vault used by the speedrunners of the game. www.speedrun.com/masseffectandromeda/guide/ssq2rAfter you're done with that one, you don't have to do any more vaults. ... Or if playing on PC and willing to use mods -if you would not consider that cheating... And use the IRON MAN mod and just fly through the vault. Sounds fun! : D But I don't own a PC just a couple of laptops and an Xbox 360 & One. If I recall right I remember that the Vault on that Safari map Havarl was quite important for the story. That was the most frustrating one.

That was the most frustrating one. Yeah. Harvarl with Iron Man mod is just crazy. I tried flying high and ran into the multiple invisible walls. The vault however -i think it was one of the biggest??? in the game. Iron Man'd it ... took me about 30 mins to complete the whole quest versus the 3 hours it originally took. Your laptops could not handle ME:A? Sure one could if everything was loaded to minimum... Unless they are Intel... could not say there. ME:A listed requirement Intel Core i5 3570 or AMD FX-6350 Yet a computer with an AMD FX 4350 Quad Unlocked Core Processor 4.2GHz Black Edition and a Zotac GeForce GTX 760 AMP Edition graphics card. Will work just fine...if jags a little then lower the resolution scale to 90 then superfly.

It's not bad, really, just maybe slightly above average if not average. Yet to play again for a third time, thinking about wrapping up Mankind Divided and then trying it again.

Yeah, I just started my 2nd playthrough and am really enjoying it. Probably more than the 1st playthrough since the learning curve to navigating the world is a little steep, and I know where to go and I know what quests are fun and want to go after.
Also, I'm having a lot of fun with this Backlash/Charge/Flamethrower build.

And yeah, knowing what the game is really like is why I don't preorder often, I remember buying RE6 and I personally didn't like the game, the gameplay features were frustrating and there were way to many QTE's.

ME:A got rightful criticism for the poor state in which it was released and some other things that weren't quite up to snuff, but so much of the other complaints surrounding the game are hyperbolic at best. As of the latest (and last ) patch, v1.10, the game is not only good, but great, imo. ME:A wasn't as good as ME2 or 3, but it was actually enjoyable for me, (unlike ME1... ugh) enough so that I will actually replay ME:A in the future. ME:A wasn't up to par with the OT, but the people 'round these parts that act like it is the worst game ever are delusional at worst and trolling at best. 8/10, needs some improvement, but still a game that will remain on my fastest SSD.

I do like the game. I haven't played for a while but I will be going back to it soon. My biggest gripe was the announcement of no SP DLC. I had just finished my first playthrough and that announcement turned me off to the game for a bit. You and me both, bud.

I just got back into the game after taking several months off to do other things, and I'm enjoying myself.
While the characters aren't quite as interesting as I would like, none of them are bad, and I actually prefer Ryder to Shepard.
Combat and gameplay are fun.
My only real problem with the game (and it's one I share with DA:I), is that I'm a crazy OCD person that needs to literally run over every square foot of the game. It kind of slows things down. Despite being about 130 hours in, I'm only at 25% completion.

I just finished it, and I'm now thinking of doing the N+ mode because the new augs I got just open a whole new room of possibilities from the get-go, the gameplay is just so smooth. I think this game is worth it for this stuff alone considering the narrative isn't as good as HR, and that one is masterpiece of a game. Needs more orange filter Yeah I'm certainly not pre-ordering anything Bioware related anymore, I used to put too much trust in them, last one so far was The New Colossus. Did you get RE7?

Not yet, saw a bit of gameplay footage and found that it was much better than RE6. I'll admit, I liked RE6's artstyle, the enemies were grotesque in a good way and as a gun nut, I liked the design of the franken-guns. (From a gameplay perspective is where RE6 sucked for me) Like the Elephant killer. Considering the gun uses .500 s&w magnum ammo and it's quite massive, it's got quite a lot of influence from the s&w model 500 (I held one myself and good god that thing was heavy, just imagine the recoil). It's overall look and it's break open design is similar to the s&w model 3 schofield revolver.

Andromeda has nice combat gameplay and they have a MAKO that actually works, minus the turret.
The terrible pacing and slow start to the game did not help, and neither did the constant wisecracking and juvenile dialog. It never *felt* as desperate as the situation should have been. And there was no tension to the story, or to the squad relationships. Every time something looked like it might get interesting? Instantly defused and never brought up again.
This felt like a prequel to a real game. A prequel that stretched out about 45 hours too long.

I still don’t understand the “juvenile” dialogue. The game got serious when it needed to be.

I still don’t understand the “juvenile” dialogue. The game got serious when it needed to be. At times no. Bad fanfic dialogue written by socially maladjusted people who apparently have trouble interacting with other human beings. Liam's quest and the first cutscene before the final mission of PeePee's mission have inappropriate and at times childlike humor, much like the horrible and glaringly unprofessional flirt dialogue between femRyder and Suvi.

I still don’t understand the “juvenile” dialogue. The game got serious when it needed to be. Like when meeting the Archon for the first time when going to Aya and you have the "Now I'm Mad" dialog option and Ryder's twins sound like wimps? And plain fools? Heck, the Citadel DLC dialog when Shepard talk to the clone for the first time in Elijah room looks like something on par with Shakespeare or a line from a pulitzer book compared to some dialogs in MEA. "You need a bigger hammer, the last guy that trash talk to me was a few kilometers taller than you".
