So I played this a bunch at release and thought the game was fine. But coming back to it now without all the outside noise and my own preconceptions getting in the way. I really like this game. The party banter makes driving around the big open worlds fun. The story and characters are fun. So yeah just thought I would throw this out there as if anyone cared what I think 😉

I like it too. I just may have really liked it with further higher quality DLC, and I don't love it like the trilogy. But sure I'm not with those hating it and considering it abomination. Its flawed and inadequate to my expectations. That doesn't mean its just bad. I would have forgiven most things if the patching cycle was more substantial (including changing asari), there was a quality DLC cycle, and a new and improved (but not overly ambitious again) game set for, say, 2020-2021 soon enough after DA4. Instead the patches were just okay, the DLC cycle didn't happen, and we have no news of the future (but that's more expected so far). Its good enough for me to still occasionally play my NG+ Insanity SP playthrough, and continue to grind Bronze/Silver matches to fill out more Uncommon/Rare rewards in MP. Maybe I'll go further with SP next year. Maybe I'll grind into Silver/Gold and Rare/Ultra-Rare with MP next year. Maybe not. Its a 7 , which along with my attachment to the franchise, means I keep playing. Just without the gusto of before.

I do like the game. I haven't played for a while but I will be going back to it soon. My biggest gripe was the announcement of no SP DLC. I had just finished my first playthrough and that announcement turned me off to the game for a bit.

I like it too. It is a shining example for BioWare to reflect on what could have been. Playing the demo, there were times I did find myself having actual fun.
I still didn't like it overall, but that's not the point of your thread.

I like the game as well and will probably continue to enjoy playing it for some time to come yet. I really like the nomad banter also. I am still triggering conversations I haven't heard yet quite frequently. It would be even better if it weren't quite so buggy. Sorry, I just had a very interesting conversation between my squad mates start up OK, but then one of the squad mate's lines failed to trigger so the other squad was talking to themselves through the whole thing... so I only got half the conversation. Now I can't get that conversation to trigger again. It's left me a little frustrated.

I've just come back to it after a little time away myself. Sure it's buggy and it slightly drags in the middle, but damn it's still fun to play!

Wish I had your experience, because, I really liked some parts (Kadara, especially meeting with Reyes Vidal). But I got anxiety even before the game started with Alec dying and the first Vault... I just had too much claustrophobia (yes, I really did, I am quite sensitive) and realized I can not go trough them and can't continue the story. If I could somehow only do one vault, I think I could play the game again. I enjoyed the free roaming and the fighting style, and I liked the angaras.

Gosh - claustrophobia in vaults that open up into being huge spaces with expansive views... and the squaddies keep referring to how big they are? Could it be more the lighting/darkness of them? Maybe try turning up your brightness setting just while you're inside the vaults.

It's a fun ride, or at least I always thought so. I suspect coming back to it, after a few months and all the patching is done, playing the game is very different.

I believe the only required vault is the one on Eos. The rest can be skipped. Doing the final mission turns them on, from what I've heard (haven't played it that way myself).
Edit: there is a cutscene in another vault that you can't avoid but no combat or running around involved. Just a conversation.

There's always one that needs to come in last, for me it was ME:A, i never found it bad just no good, wee got a game that tried to emulate the OT to much instead of just being it's own thing in the ME universe, for me the biggest mistake was basically bringing the milkyway to Andromeda an then all the been there done that politics, Andromeda shoulda been human only an if they wanted to include all the other races then they shoulda simply stayed in the milkway an maybe dealt with the aftermath of the reapers, yes by making destroy cannon. For me going to Andromeda offered so much an yet delivered so little, thats the biggest disappointment.

I started playing at the beginning of this month. I was very conflicted to start my playthrough, because of all the bad rep this episode got, and the no dlc and hiatus announcements. I played the previous episodes for hundreds of hours, multiplayer included, so i decided to finally start playing, thinking of just take a look. I am now 72 hrs into the game (at 47% game completion), and while I agree you can say it's a flawed game, especially in some departments, man... I'm surprised but how much I'm enjoying it. I can see my self playing for at least another 30/50 hrs, and I haven't even touched the multiplayer. I get why this game got such a bad rep, from what i saw and read, the launch wasn't very smooth and the game was too buggy. Also expectations were probably over the roof for this one. So far I'm having a great time, i love exploring the planets and vaults, the gameplay is very solid, and once you get the crafting, it is very interesting to setup many different builds. I still have to see the story, i've seen many complaints, but so far it isn't that bad, I'm actually enjoying it for what it is, definitely a different vibe from the trilogy. I've encoutered few bugs here and there, but nothing game breaking.

I never hated the game but it is thoroughly average. It feels like Mass Effect by committee. There were some bright spots and characters I liked but it could never reach the heights of the last trilogy and maybe that should have been reason enough to do a new IP.
Still, despite it's flaws, it's not an awful game but I understand the harsher critics. You put Mass Effect in the title and standards are automatically set higher.

I had some issues with Skyrim also when some dungeons took too much time or I got lost. More realistic means really too realistic for me, in some occasions. I need to see a clear sky from tome to time otherwise I kinda panic or get weirdly frustated. Darkness adds the impact, yes.

Funny, when I was starting my second playthrough, a good portion of me was thinking, "Oh god this is going to suck so much." The first few hours were quite slow and yes the dialogue was quite laughable at certain bits. After Eos those, I felt that the game really got a lot better. GOTY material, depends on who you ask, not my GOTY, besides, I rarely buy new games all that much.
