Here's a different platinum build for the architect. The ones who have tinkered with this guy would notice that he appears to have puny damage output for different builds (elemental tech, no barricade, etc). The following build will give you the highest damage output. In addition, it is a more versatile build for those who wanna mix up the playstyle a bit.
Build:
Remnant VI, Rank 6: Rank 4 - Recharge Speed, Rank 5 - VI health, Rank 6 - Missiles/detonation
Barricade, Rank 6: Rank 4 - Number of power cells, Rank 5 - Weapon damage, Rank 6 - Electric defense
Incinerate, Rank 6: Rank 4 - Burning, Rank 5 - Impact, Rank 6 - Detonator
Offensive Tech, Rank 3
Support Systems, Rank 5: Rank 4 - Duration, Rank 5 - Health/Shields/Tech Construct Health
Equipment - Multicapacitor (You will get tossed around like a pinata without this. Don't go into plat without this specific piece of equipment)
Weapon 1 - Hurricane Siphon
Weapon 2 - Hurricane Bulwark
Ammo: Disruptor Rounds
Playstyle:
- With the above mentioned build, you have 2 primers (barricade & disruptor ammo equipped weapon) and 2 detonators (Incinerate & Rem VI). This results in a constant flow of colorful tech combos, which will brighten up your life.
- For the remnant VI, You need recharge speed and +200% health boost on platinum. You need recharge speed because the VI won't last the barrage of attacks in plat even with the insane health boost and self healing capabilities. The Remnant VI is stupid and disobedient by default. So, you gotta use the tap power button to constantly remind him to attack specific targets. It also keeps him from roaming off into dangerous waters and getting himself killed. When you've gotten the hang of controlling this guy better, he's a deadly and useful ally.
- Barricade gives you a significant % shield regen delay reduction. Couple this with the delay reduction from multicapacitor and your squishy ass will manage to stay alive on plat. Once you GIT GUT (figured out how to slip and slide diagonally across a war zone without dropping, your VI should help with this), you can jump into crowds, pop a barricade, group stun and detonate with incinerate. If you haven't GIT GUT yet, don't bet a hero, sit back a bit and pop the barricade down as needed. You will quickly get overwhelmed with all kinds of creatures in your face on platinum anyways.
Priming/Detonating
- When you see a shielded enemy, tap the vi's attack button once and unload hurricane on enemy. Detonation timing on the VI will generally work out such that he'll land the missiles right as you're done hurricane priming.
- You may have ammo primed (or barricade primed) and detonated a target with incinerate. Your incinerate will be on cooldown now. If you want to maximize incinerate's DOT, point the VI to another nearby target so he doesn't end up detonating your incinerated target (ending the DOT). Quickly ammo prime the nearby target that you just asked the VI to attack.
- There are times you may want to double detonate the same target as well with incinerate and the VI and finish him off.
- Once you get the hang of this (GIT GUT), you should be constantly hearing tech combos and all kinds of vermin should get stunned/caught in your combo fields. It will be music to your ears and candy for your eyes. Once they're caught, go batshit crazy with your 2 hurricanes and even wham a coupla ice melees on them suckers for style points.
Other: The VI does attract a lot of aggro to keep your squishy ass alive. But, you also need him alive so the two of ya can be a force to reckon with. So split the aggro with him a bit. Put some thought into they type of enemy you want him to attack in a crowd so he stays alive. To survive and do well on the score board with this kit, your playstyle needs to be a bit more sophisticated than with other kits. But, practice makes perfect fellas.
