and you paid too much for it, its part of EA's Origin Access program now, where for $5 a month iirc you can get MEA, DA:I, BF1, 4, 5 Battlefront and whole host of other games.

I work at a major electronics store atm.
We have Mass Effect: Andromeda marked down (on sale) at $14.99. It's regular retail price at the moment? $19.99

Yeah I saw that on another post. I don't have EA Origin access, and frankly given the kind of company EA is I don't think they deserve any of my money. Will likely be only buying their games used. I regret buying Madden 18, unfortunately my friends convinced me to get it

You need to read the forums here to get the best deals... we've known for days that Andromeda is free on Origins. The bottom line here is that you did buy it. If you don't think it's a game worth owning or playing... why get it at all? I don't understand why anyone buys things they don't actually want... just so they can complain on the internet about it?

But if you stop paying it you lose the games right? I wasn't sure about that when I posted because I don't play on PC. I just confirmed that on Suikoden's thread... the games you acquired from the vault become unplayable if you cancel your membership. With owning the disc, you've got access to the game as long as you don't start using the disc as a coaster. I've gotten a few games now through Xbox Live's "Games with Gold" program... and I'm honestly not sure whether or not they will stay playable if I cancalled my Live Gold membership. I can currently play the ones I've acquired completely off line, but I'm not sure if that's any indication or not.

Is EA Access actually worth it? My problem with it is that it wouldn't pay off for quite a while. There isn't enough stuff in the program that I'd play and don't own already.

Yeah, I don't care if they chuck a "free superpower of your choice for use in the real world, go wild you young rascals" in the vault, there's no way I'm supporting EA directly. I'll buy Games under their Publishing umbrella, I'll buy them at 200 bucks, but EA themselves can go to hell and they can take their Origin platform and Access with them.

I really don't - buy what you want, don't buy what you don't... and leave me to do the same. It doesn't change my notion that EA's assumed motivation for making this move may not be because ME:A sold so terribly (as some are assuming here)... but that it's instead one way they think they can make their vault program seem more worthwhile - by putting a game they think has some value into the program (like selling a great loss leader item in a store... it draws people in the door).

I have two copies. Xbox one deluxe for fifty and standard for PS3 at 40. Then fifty total in online loot stuffs. Then 3 funko pops. Around 170 bucks invested in Andromeda or Andromeda related products. Wait! I also have a Drack lithograph from the Bioware store. Around 210 bucks probably. Probably closer to 400 for the original trilogy, though. What can I say, I'm a fan.

I can currently play the ones I've acquired completely off line, but I'm not sure if that's any indication or not. XBL Gold = You are granted the licence for games given away as long as you are an active paying member at the time of the promotion, and have completed the purchase process (you don't have to pay extra, but you do have to click "Buy" or "Get This" depending on which menu you're in.) Because it uses the "purchase" function, you get the licence without paying extra (it isn't "free" because you still paid for it.) EA Access = Glorified Rental. Pay them money every two weeks (or whatever the pay period is) and you will receive whichever games are currently part of the package, subject to change. The rental ends unless renewed, so you are not given the licence by this program. Games rented via programs like this are referred to as "Streaming Games" and PSN has an equivalent program that works the same way. As to OP: $9 is a good deal for the ME:A licence, assuming you get at least a few hours of enjoyment out of it. Even if you don't end up liking the game, it should be easy enough to walk away from it knowing you didn't spend $60 or more.
