In Aya's Docks (where the Tempest is parked) there's an incomplete part of the world which isn't loaded by default. When forcibly loading it via modding, it spawns a new terminal in the corner of the Docks, the Nomad behind closed doors, and two giant rock walls way below the ground. Everything else is broken and doesn't work correctly ingame. However, in theory, you should be able to interact with the terminal, open the doors, and use the Nomad to travel down to the planet's surface using a lift. This transitions to another level, called "Aya_hub_unc", which unfortunately in the final game is nothing but a shell of what it should look like. A cave with pink (untextured) walls, a lift to Aya's Docks, and a strange looking Monolith in the open space. Interestingly, the Forward Station is an old version of itself, where it allows you to "Refill" ammo/health/power cells on demand.

Every single one of these files is EMPTY (nulled out) Outposts, monoliths, quests, vaults, enemies, etc. etc. etc. Completely cut.

Looks like we were supposed to be able to explore Aya's surface at some point... what a waste.

I would have hate to have seen the game if they had another world to explore it felt like there were too many in the release version let alone adding another.

We were supposed to explore it. There are references in the Master Strings file to a mission to deal with a crashed kett ship on Aya.

Blimey. I wonder what else has been cut. There are strings referencing numerous cut weapons, missions on aya, three krogan trading posts on asteroids, heretic kett, a quarian historian, many many cut tasks, many cut planets to land on... a lot of stuff.

I've wondered if the Turian Ark was another example of content cut, because they ran out of time. So much lead-in ... for something that was just perfunctory in its final version. Originally a Turian Ark story that was on par with the Asari and Salarian Ark stories?
If Aaron Flynn had directed the restart 6 months earlier, perhaps they'd have time to finish the content that was cut and fix the various problems the game had at release. Better fan reception, better game sales and probably two DLCs would have followed. Even MP, given additional time, might have had more maps, better weapon differentiation and probably fewer bugs upon release. So much of what might have been and what now will never be.
Leadership matters. As does the lack. Just ask Apple.

This stuff makes me so angry. I've been quite critical of MEA (and still am), but my bottom line has always been that the combat is excellent and it's great fun to explore. Now we find out that massive swaths of the game were cut, and we'll never see them. Swaths that would have played to (imo) the game's strengths.
And the low-gravity moon was one of my favorite environments in MEA. There could have been more???
Just talking about the situation (and NOT the game), this whole thing - from cut content to changing project leadership to canceled DLC - has to be one of the most colossally fucked up messes I've ever seen. And it's probably even worse than we know.

Its just seems to be the bigger the scope of the game the more content gets abandoned along the way because they need to make sure they ship a complete game. If they left all this stuff in the game it might have taken additional years to complete and would have been in a lot worse trouble then what it was.

Honestly, I thought the game was too big as it was. I think the game was big in the wrong areas. I'd say that Eos, Elaaden, Kadara and Voeld were all too large. I would rather have all four at half the size, with 4 more planets to run around. I love the fact that the terrain goes on for miles, but I don't need to explore that.

Content is cut from games all the time, this is nothing new. It's what gets cut from games that often leaves one scratching their has to what the project leads were thinking when they made the cuts. Often times the stuff that gets cut seems as though it would be better than what was actually left.
As far as MEA goes. I don't think they cut near enough. Maybe if it would have been half the size they could have had more time to work on story, characters, and dialog. The things that made the OT great.

I think it is always going to be "the grass is always greener" aspect of what we can do, for when we just have ideas from very small aspects of what has been cut our imaginations make it seem better then what we have fully flushed out for we can see what is bound by the limitations of what is possible. Aya for example might have been exactly like Voeld except lava and volcanoes instead of ice and snow, to me that wouldn't have been much better if it was rushed to make the release if it was the least completed area.

Interesting for sure.
Perhaps they could have done the "Inquisition Approach" so to speak...make worlds that are smaller in comparison, which I think is the way to go with these type of semi-open world games BioWare is used to.
Keep the areas smaller and more varied/numerous terrains, it would have been a lot easier to deal with.

Keep the areas smaller and more varied/numerous terrains, it would have been a lot easier to deal with. I personally would have been fine if the designs were along the lines of how they handled the Fallow Mire in Inquisition. It gave some open world aspects, but at the same time it felt like it has some focus. The thing is you could also say something similar with H-047c for it had a more narrow focus you just had to drive a little more to get to those areas.
