Nier Automata > Andromeda how old are you ? Nier with its metrosexula BULLS..T story and juvenile characters and panties and 100% fetch quests and one button mash combat and NONSENSE story and moustache twirling vellains (adam and eve LOL) is nothing like an rpg. Also fyi i platinumed the game. So me liking a game is juvenile now? How old are you? Your mental fortitude seems equal to "I don't like that game so no one else should". Did I pin you down right?

And thats fine. But stuff like this matters to the big wigs who decide to make sequels or not. I do not believe ME is dead. There WILL be a ME game in the future. What I think is dead is the Andromeda brand and news like this just reinforces the idea that MEA isnt as liked/respected the same as the MET. This could influence EA to go in another direction with ME and not pursue a MEA2 featuring Ryder. That is possible. A GOTY means more news coverage, more leverage, possibly more funding down the road, the 'it' product so to speak. But it may not, its one award. Also may not mean its a good game either. Yeah I hope they do a MEA:2 down the road. Any ME would be good. Well most publishers are about metrics and big data. Things like sales, reviews scores etc....things that can be physically measured. I bet you that despite all the hate against MEA, if it matched or beat DAI in sales and/or had superb review scores and a slew off GOTY/RPG of the Year awards, I bet you we would have already played our first SP DLC, impatiently awaiting the 2nd DLC....with the possibility of a 3rd DLC sometime around/shortly after E3 2018 and talks of a MEA2.

Okay, even I know nominating Aloy's performance is... ridiculous. Yeah that's the biggest joke. Some of the performance's in Andromeda where honestly better than Aloy.

Its unfair against MEA. They could get nominations for;
Most useless fetch quests award Most useless choices award Most boring(endless driving around) open world game award How to ruin a franchise award
I´ve started another playtrough of heavily modded KOTOR game, it just pains me to see how shallow their games have become as RPGs when i play it. A 15 year old game is still much more engaging than this mess says a lot IMO.

Get what your saying and being nominated or wining is good for the studio/company. But really don't care about awards when it comes to enjoying games or movies. I mean seriously The Titantic won best picture in 98. I enjoyed MEA and it not being nominated will not change that. Do you really want them to make another ME game though? They will destroy it just the way they destroyed KOTOR by making that MMPORG crap.

Does this mean we're dismissing all those awards Inquisition won in 2014? Well, even if we did, the game sold quite well and got 3 big DLC's, which sorta speaks for itself.

I was wondering, because I don't think that anyone expected MEA to get any nominations, but your hypotheses that this could influence EA in their decision to greenlight another ME game is IMO an interesting point worth discussing. You should add that as question/context to your OP. Otherwise people will probably just post stuff like: and? Why is that thread worthy? To answer: I doubt that it'll influence whether they stay in Andromeda or not. That will probably simply be a question of how interesting the next part of Me's story is that BioWare presents to EA. There are some pretty interesting options in Andromeda, so I'm sure it'll still be on the table.

I'm completely shocked. Of course i'm kidding. Of course it didn't. I was heavily on social media during the time Andromeda released. Even fans of Inquisition largely disliked it. Most Twitch streamers didn't even finish the first planet. Streamers like Lirik used the excuse "i'm just not interested in a sandbox game right now", but we could see right through that and knew that he was incredibly disapointed lol. Hell you can look at the lack of artwork for Andromeda characters and see that many just didn't care enough. Andromeda characters can't even get recognition on Rule34 for the most part ha.
And of course it doesn't get any RPG awards, it's less of an RPG than Inquisition actually. They took away companion customizations (who the hell does that in an RPG heavily involving squadmates). Something that imo? made me forgive Inquisition for a lot of it's shortcomings. There was something very enjoyable about customizing your companion with different buffs and items to make them a monster. It gave us choice, because we weren't forced to only take along certain companions because they were the strongest. We had the ability to turn any one of our favs into absolute beast with the right combinations. It was a blast seeing how all those different combinations played out. Something that's severely missing in Andromeda. Hell we couldn't even so much as control what abilities they used. You'd think games would go forward, adding even more depth to companions, Andromeda actually went back. I mean hell even New Vegas from years ago had companion customization and the ability to give them commands instead just "attack this person, maybe you'll use an ability".

Yes, people can dismiss this thread as spam, but that doesnt take away from the impact that this will have for MEA going forward. I'd say it is more indicative of your obsession with MEA, and how poorly it performed. The only thing I am surprised about is that you haven't managed to bring CDPR into it yet, but we are early days.

There is not a single performance in MEA that deserves any sort of recognition, I can't speak to Aloy as I didn't play HZD, but MEA doesn't deserve any recognition in this department Instead of fixing aspects of the story or adding on to it, they gave us a new romance option. That alone deserves all the awards. Horizon Zero Dawn's plot wasn't much better though. It actually suffered from the same problem Andromeda did especially in terms of being a bland semi-open world with nothing in it.

I hope Divinity Original Sin2 gets best RPG. In my opinion, hands down, the best game that came out this year.
I'm not surprised MEA did get zero nominations. It's average. Neither good nor bad, so it swims with the crowd.

Yeah, wasn't surprising. Seriously, 2017 was a strong year for RPGs and games in general, there is no way on this green and radioactive Earth (possibly playing too much Fallout) that ME:A could hope to compete against the likes of Nier, Nioh, and HZD. My friends rave non-stop about Nier ... personally couldn't stand the game because I suck at action.
Let's see who got nominated for 2017 best RPG.
Persona 5 - Touted by many as the best pure JRPG in a decade. Nier - Yeah not surprising. Everybody's raving about this like it's the second coming. Divinity Original Sin 2 - DESERVES ALL THE ACCOLADES IT GETS.
And then you include HZD and Legend of Zelda into the Game of the year category and holy shit, Strong, STRONG year and Andromeda was the weakest game from Bioware since ... well, Sonic.
