The Game Awards nominees revealed: MEA gets ZERO nominations

Well most publishers are about metrics and big data. Things like sales, reviews scores etc....things that can be physically measured. I bet you that despite all the hate against MEA, if it matched or beat DAI in sales and/or had superb review scores and a slew off GOTY/RPG of the Year awards, I bet you we would have already played our first SP DLC, impatiently awaiting the 2nd DLC....with the possibility of a 3rd DLC sometime around/shortly after E3 2018 and talks of a MEA2.

There is not a single performance in MEA that deserves any sort of recognition, I can't speak to Aloy as I didn't play HZD, but MEA doesn't deserve any recognition in this department

Now I understand what this thread is about. I was wondering, because I don't think that anyone expected MEA to get any nominations, but your hypotheses that this could influence EA in their decision to greenlight another ME game is IMO an interesting point worth discussing. You should add that as question/context to your OP. Otherwise people will probably just post stuff like: and? Why is that thread worthy?

To answer: I doubt that it'll influence whether they stay in Andromeda or not. That will probably simply be a question of how interesting the next part of Me's story is that BioWare presents to EA. There are some pretty interesting options in Andromeda, so I'm sure it'll still be on the table.

I'm completely shocked. Of course i'm kidding. Of course it didn't. I was heavily on social media during the time Andromeda released. Even fans of Inquisition largely disliked it. Most Twitch streamers didn't even finish the first planet. Streamers like Lirik used the excuse "i'm just not interested in a sandbox game right now", but we could see right through that and knew that he was incredibly disapointed lol. Hell you can look at the lack of artwork for Andromeda characters and see that many just didn't care enough. Andromeda characters can't even get recognition on Rule34 for the most part ha.


And of course it doesn't get any RPG awards, it's less of an RPG than Inquisition actually. They took away companion customizations (who the hell does that in an RPG heavily involving squadmates). Something that imo? made me forgive Inquisition for a lot of it's shortcomings. There was something very enjoyable about customizing your companion with different buffs and items to make them a monster. It gave us choice, because we weren't forced to only take along certain companions because they were the strongest. We had the ability to turn any one of our favs into absolute beast with the right combinations. It was a blast seeing how all those different combinations played out. Something that's severely missing in Andromeda. Hell we couldn't even so much as control what abilities they used. You'd think games would go forward, adding even more depth to companions, Andromeda actually went back. I mean hell even New Vegas from years ago had companion customization and the ability to give them commands instead just "attack this person, maybe you'll use an ability".

On an unrelated note, it is a bit more challenging to find the right gif if one skips past those that feature celebrities accused of sexual misconduct.

Instead of fixing aspects of the story or adding on to it, they gave us a new romance option. That alone deserves all the awards. 


Horizon Zero Dawn's plot wasn't much better though. It actually suffered from the same problem Andromeda did especially in terms of being a bland semi-open world with nothing in it.

I never said it did, neither does Aloy's performance. I'm just saying some of the performance where better than Aloy's. That doesn't mean they deserve an award, because they don't.

I hope Divinity Original Sin2 gets best RPG. In my opinion, hands down, the best game that came out this year.

I'm not surprised MEA did get zero nominations. It's average. Neither good nor bad, so it swims with the crowd.

Game of the Year awards only count when The Witcher wins them, silly.
