I just restarted a trilogy playthrough, and as good as the good moments are in ME1, the boring moments are even more boring. Finding Salarian tags, long elevator rides, jogging around the Citadel and trying to avoid the boring quests. It certainly has its moments, but finding Salarian tags and Matriarch writings is pretty lame. And as much as I love Garrus in ME2 and ME3, he's just an incredibly dull guy with daddy issues in ME1.

I play it because I just don't like starting with ME2 and I can get through it fast. As a stand-alone though, I wouldn't be interested in replaying it.

Maybe you would not, but seeing how a lot of remaster/remake games we have seen this last generation and how they keep continuing at it, it's because is succesful, and it's guaranteed money, so no point for companies not doing it if they want to.

Yeah, I kind of punished myself when I made my main trilogy run. I reached level 60 and found *everything*. Never again. I need to find a quantum drive to store that save file on. It’s more precious than element zero.

The thing is, it doesn't matter what happened or what fans may think, or if it will be a welcome thing or not, if a company sees that can obtain money in a cheap way to do it, they will, so basically to summarize, if they want it, they will do it, justified or not, they don't need any reason or opinion on the matter.

Even, ME3's harshest detractors, and I'm proud to consider myself one, will admit it had sections where the magic was still there. I think it instead was a more gradual progression of the issues that eventually all climaxed in MEA. Sadly I think the "point of no return" was the DLC cycle in ME2.
