I like you all as GM, but since it would be great to have dragon back, maybe contact her. Reed, you are the only one, that couldn't loose, because you were Liara and spy

It was fun, even with all the drama Reed, you aren't the only one to blame, I'm pretty nuch just skimming through most of the posts for now, as I'm still running around the Cit... I mean New York, trying to see as much as possible Plus, it seems I can never fool pela into thinking I'm innocent. I'll be willing to play both versions of the game, as long as it starts after the weekend, I'll be home then.

Hah! I had a feeling you two were working together! Also, don't worry about it flyimar! You got the right person, and I managed to figure out who Evil Legion was! Although I'm a bit confused about who killed romice. ETA: Looks like the GM did due to Legion being outnumbered!

Basically since the only two roles still in play other than Legion were Miranda (proven good) and Jack (always good) I decided to write Legion's demise into the narrative to save prolonging the agony. So technically no one killed Legion but in my narrative Jack ripped his innards (wiring) out having seen him take out Garrus. I thought Jack was badass enough to do that without waiting for Shepard's okay.

Good news. A new game with the new rules is likely to be up and running in a few days time, if you'll bear with us (Dragon and me that is). Can I assume that everyone who finished the last game would like to be a part of the new one? Please let me know if that is not the case.

ehhh, I'm not sure if I will or not. This is going to be that new version Dragon was talking about right?
I'm not so sure it sounds like as much fun as the original. Seems the important roles go from everyone with powers to... Shepard and the captured person. I mean, I suppose the people with other powers can still opt to snipe this person or protect this person, but without the voting rounds in public, it all relies on just two people.
Idk.

Every role still has the same powers as before, it is just that instead of just random voting, you can question the sleeper agent to help you decide what to do. The other main difference is that voting is in secret, a bit like the first two rounds on the latest Skyhold game, except you are voting based off information gained and not completely in the dark. At least I think that is how it works. That is why I asked for Dragon's help because she knows better how she envisaged it. A lot seems to depend on the person who is designated "Shepard" but that is still fun. I think it is a case of "let's try it and see" but I don't think you are any more likely to get randomly eliminated than currently and it may even be less down to chance than currently. After all, at present people make claims, people decide whether to believe them or not and people vote. The new version will be the same except with the extra element added in.

Not really worried about random eliminations... that's gonna happen in all of these games. It's part of it. I'm more worried about basically the whole game relying on two people. But the more I think about it, it's really just the person playing as Shepard. They're like a mini-GM. It kinda seems like they can just do whatever they want in regards to questioning the spy. And if that's where our information for who is a hero/villain is coming from since voting is in secret... I'm not seeing where all the normal discussion and alliances and such are going to come from. Then there is the captured spy who seems like a, "not-so-fun" role for whoever gets it because all they get to do all game is type yes or no and they have to answer. At least, that's how I understood it.

It seems like instead of focusing on voting pattern, this game will have the players rely on the questions Shepard has asked the agent. This sounds interesting and I'm definitely in, but my main question is what incentive will the agent have in telling Shepard and the Heroes the truth? Shepard can get voted off, but it seems to me that the agent can pretty much lead the Heroes astray and there would be no reason for them to help out the Heroes .

Well, the Heroes will be expecting the sleeper agent to lie, so he/she will probably have to use a half lie/half thruth strategy, or something like that. I think this game type is interesting, but we need to try it to see if it actually works in practise.

If you look back to the run down of the rules I re-posted on p.115 Dragon suggested that whilst the Sleeper Agent could answer ambiguously if the question was framed in such a way that they could, they weren't allowed to outright lie.
So in the case of a Y/N question, if the answer is "yes" then the Sleeper must say so. If asked who voted for X the last round, then only people who voted for X can be given and none may be omitted. If asked who Y voted for last round, again it must be answered truthfully. However, the question cannot be "Is X a Cerberus agent?"
Dragon also suggested that perhaps the answer should be checked with the GM to ensure it is not breaking the rules. Obviously if the question is not allowable then the GM will just say so.
A maximum of 3 questions are allowed per round.

That part where the agent can't lie makes for a boring role I think. But if they can ALWAYS lie then it's too easy too. I think how they answer needs to be reworked. Or give them some type of ability and give an interrogation paragon/renegade power to shepard.

May be it should be a case of saying that the question cannot be answered with a simple yes or no. That would allow for an ambiguous answer.
Or instead of saying that X, Y voted for Z, they can only say that X and Y voted for the same person.
Or if asked who X voted for, they can only say they voted for the same person as Y without saying who.

Maybe the locked up agent should know who the other agents are but not be allowed to talk to them in pm? I don't know if that's necessary.

How about a 1:2 ratio of lie to truth? It would give the good guys more of a guessing game, and let the sleeper agent have some decisions to make.

Popping in briefly to address stuff. I was going to suggest that the captured agent be allowed to lie to one of the three questions asked each round, but no more than that. So, the 1:2 ratio romice suggested. Ambiguity could still be allowed for the other two answers, just not outright falsehood. I've got to reread my own suggested rules to see what other problems we have to work out. sgtreed24 what sort of renegade/paragon power were you thinking of?

I just meant that if the agent had the ability to lie then Shepard could have a one use ability to makes the agent tell the truth that round. In the write up it could be paragon or renegade version.
