Kaiden was added bi for the last game, probably by popular demand just like Garrus and Tali were. Apparently bi romances for him and Ash existed but were never fully implemented in the first game.

J-a-c-o-b is a weird way to spell "Garrus."

I liked ME1 Ashley. My favourite Shepard only got into the full romance with Jack after the suicide mission so I had the scene with him still looking at Ash's photo. In fact he was still feeling guilty about having let Kaidan die in order to save Ash, so wouldn't commit to anyone else that might compromise his decision making. Then in the euphoria over everyone surviving the mission he let his guard down. He might have gone back to Ash except by ME3 she wasn't the Ash he remembered. Then when he went to see her in hospital she made some snide comments about Jack and that annoyed him because he felt she didn't even know her. His response pretty much ended any chance of reconciliation between them on the romance front but he still cared about her as a friend.

I like Ash as a character, but I was really disappointed by how little content she got in ME3, even just compared to Garrus. It just wasn't that romantic of a romance, if that makes sense.

On the other hand, when my Ashleymancing Shepard kissed Miranda in ME2 (just for the heck of it, really), the scene gave me warm fuzzy feelings, so I hope the rest of her romance will be fun to play as well.
