Yeah it was bad luck, that gerva investigated me first night, after scoring two more or less useless characters for us agents and with DA a downright dangerous one, because DA gets always voted off early.

I would scratch DA tbh, because whoever gets that role really has no fun playing. They have to vote whomever they are told to vote for plus they get voted off early on most times.

I think most abilities work exactly on dark as on light side, apart from the two that are explained on the first page.

With regard to which roles should be in the game, perhaps it would be an idea to have a core group who are always potentially present and then a pool A and pool B of roles that are only present if the others aren't in order to balance out the advantages to heroes and villains. We talked about this with respect to Grunt, Mordin, Miranda and Kasumi when the first two were introduced.

However, if the spies land two roles that are not particularly helpful to them, it does make it less serious for the heroes. So, for example, if the spies get Dr Chakwas and Emily Wong then they have only limited usefulness to them unless certain criteria are met; three spies in the game for Chakwas to be useful and at least one spy still alive for Emily Wong to be helpful. By contrast, as I pointed out last game, an evil Mordin could be potentially lethal to the heroes, provided the spies play his ability carefully (although it still requires the non Mordin spy to survive longest), so is equally useful to either side.

Did you all realise that Romice landed Miri for the last few rounds? I couldn't believe it when it went to her again this round.

Yeah, dragon and fylimar definitely got unlucky this game considering not only did fylimar get checked N1, but dragon was also Allers which meant she couldn't really do anything when her accomplice got checked.

Now if she was my role, Legion, that could have been very interesting since she could have at least killed gervaise in a very dramatic fashion. .

Instead of scrapping Allers entirely however, why not just make her the classic executioner role? Instead of rolling a random target each round, the classic exe randomly rolls a target for each game, and they don't necessarily have to vote for their target each round. In order to win, they just have to successfully vote off their target once.

If the target dies during the game, Allers will have to roll another target again. And having Allers with a target for the rest of the game will also make it less obvious that they're Allers. Not forcing Allers to vote for their target each round will also make it a bit less obvious that they're Allers. Also, why not just make her a Neutral role as well since Evil or Good Allers is not much of a team role in general? So when she successfully votes her target off, she wins and then she can decide whether to help the Spies or Heroes for the rest of the game.

Also, I definitely do think the spies have to at least have one powerful role within their team simply for balancing reasons. For example, Mordin, Legion, Garrus, Wrex, Miranda, etc.
