"Shepard. I have eyes on the target."
"Good, sooner we get them squared away the sooner we can wrap up this mess and get everything back to normal."
"You sure about this Shepard. He did take down Wrex. The security footage showed Wrexes eyes lit up like a christmas tree."
"I know, Jacob, but better safe than sorry."
"As you wish, ready to move in."
The squad burst into the long hall. A barricade had been set up at the far end. Their quarry waited patiently, in cover, sniper rifle ready.
"Back off, Shepard. I'm trying to help." Garrus said, his rifle trained on Shepard's chest. "Don't make me do this."
"Maybe you are, maybe you aren't. " Shepard replied. "Wrex's turning was well known once we hacked into Liara's feeds. You could be one of them, ordered to remove a liability."
"You're wrong, Shepard." Garrus sighed. "I can't hurt you though. Fine, take me in, and solve this thing." He folded his sniper rifle and stood up.
Eliminated player:
Romice: Garrus

Well, unless three spies are still in play, it seems the next round will be the crucial for the Heroes to get a spy in order to stay in this.
I've personally been going over a theory that one of the spies could have had the same voting pattern as me before I got offed. With romice being Good Garrus after all, this could be true...
ETA: IF romice is Good Garrus. We don't actually know yet!

You don't have to worry about managing squad armor, and you will be prompted to choose their weapons when you take them on missions. When you pick up upgraded weapons, they will be automatically equipped to each squadmate who can use them (though you can switch back to a previous weapon if you want). I haven't figured out entirely how the controls work. They still have the alien feel. I'd have to agree that occasionally (even in Inq) upgrading armour and weapons for every single team member repetitively can be too much work. I can't say it bothers me, but if the squad armour gets upgraded automatically I wouldn't deem it a bad thing. However, they should have kept an inventory window at least for the main character. Loot is an element of rpg. While it can be a hassle, I like comparing stats and choosing what to sell to the merchant and what to keep or hide in storage. So far I found the terminal where I can view which weapons my squad members have, but it's useless because it gives the weapon description without giving its stats. So, I haven't the foggiest which one is better to equip on the team member and whether they're using/switching all weapons listed or only got one of those equipped and the rest are junk (and if there is any junk I don't know yet whether I can sell it to the merchant or it just magically vanishes and gets replaced once something better gets picked up). Having no inventory is confusing because I'm not used to not having it and having computer decide what's best for me rather than me deciding. Incidentally, mods are available to auto-win the puzzles and to make planet scanning go faster, if you are interested. I haven't used any mods so far because I'm plain afraid of breaking something if I go messing with the game. Also, if there is a mod, I imagine it does more than just auto-solves puzzles for you. I would rather not change the game much, but it would be useful to solve some of the puzzles. When it comes to the matching one, I don't find it too much trouble. However, I've encountered one which tells me to select the similar text pieces I find it to be extremely cumbersome. It certainly would be good to have it auto done so I don't waste time with it - if this can be done with some minor, uncomplicated change without influencing the rest of the game. there's something to look forward to! The praetorian! Joy. Usualy I do a bunch of little quests before I do that one too. I wish somebody had told me to do all those mini quests prior. That was one of the first things I had the fortune of trying before I even figured out I can replace pistols with better one from the inventory (or rather I figured that menu out after dying five times). My Shep went to do one of the hardest missions in the game without pants. Same, I play for the RPG parts. Sadly, as you noted, they really stripped out a lot of rpg elements in order to appeal to the 'cod' crowd. Or something. ME2 is still a fun game if you take it as the main focus is meeting all the characters. There is this saying about trying to sit with one arse on two chairs at the same time.... What I adore about both ME and DA is the ability to recruit interesting companions. And both stories adhere to my natural preference of blah blah save the world, wack a big evil guy dead. I like this sort of stuff. I can't wait until I find my good pal Garrus... :amirite: Yeah and M doesn't open the map. Because there is no map. In most places anyway. The hubs have a map iirc. Yea... I definitely need more help to get lost because I've got this great sense of direction... The biggest change to ME2 from 1 was the near abandonment of interesting world building for the 'rule of cool'. Every rper loves being surrounded by endless grey boxes and more grey boxes and OMG oh look there are grey boxes! The surroundings don't inspire the sightseeing so far.

If romice was good...for fuck's sake, heroes. When you are under suspicion, answer the questions you are asked rather than throwing up your hands and saying, "whelp, I guess I'm getting voted off and there's no convincing you!" Refusing to explain your actions just makes you look suspicious, as we saw with Tittus and Moonae, and now maybe with romice.
Stop being secretive!

Like I said in the post further up, the mod auto-wins puzzles and scans an entire planet with only one probe, so you don't have to spend time physically scanning each planet. It saves quite a bit of time. Joy. Indeed! I can't wait until I find my good pal Garrus... It won't be too long Yea... I definitely need more help to get lost because I've got this great sense of direction... The lack of map threw me my first time through also. The hubs do have maps (Citadel, Omega, Tuchanka, Illium), but anywhere else, pressing M just gives you a pingy arrow. It takes getting used to, definitely.

Sorry, I was a bit confused as of when we knew the alignment of the player who gets voted off. I forgot it was until the next day! I honestly hope Romice is Evil just so I can write in a couple of players on the Good side for good. Plus things will be a bit clearer, so to speak.

I spent the last 10 minutes looking for the planet scanning mod, before I realized that both things I mentioned are part of the same mod. If anyone is interested, here it is: No MinigamesNo minigames, and single-probe planet scanning. Thank you for the info. It certainly looks useful. I feel first I must learn/understand how to do things on my own before crossing them off my chores list. I've barely played an hour of ME2 and haven't even figured out yet HOW to scan planets. It took me a bit of time to figure out how to enter the orbit on Omega. Didn't see at once the mini ship dangling between the planets. I need to get rid of the noob discomfort where you feel extremely clumsy during the first game. I may need to bookmark this page/reference for the future. Or more like write it down on a random piece of paper and then lose the paper. There're two; Admiral Kohuku and the rescue of beleaguered Alliance outpost in Styx getting attacked by rachni. Later Shep tracked a signal to an abandoned freighter where you find the recordings of a Cerberus commander talking about the shipment from Noveria; rachni eggs that hatched. Oooh yea... I remember something... Except, I tend to ignore/not memorize the names of the random groups of clowns from the side quests who do pesky things. You heard me, Illusive Man, you're unimportant like that. Like I said in the post further up, the mod auto-wins puzzles and scans an entire planet with only one probe, so you don't have to spend time physically scanning each planet. It saves quite a bit of time. In ME1 scanning was painless. All we had to do was mouse click a planet and click scan, which got performed in one second. It sounds like they've made it a thousand time unnecessarily more complicated, which nobody wanted. The galaxy map is confusing so far too. I believe I'm seeing one system so far, not sure how to zoom out of it. The map was really easy to understand/use in ME1.

Dragon: OK, I understand. I was not mad that you suspect me, I was surprised. No contradiction there.
Sadly I'm on a hiatus with ME2 since the cold did get worse. Gaming is no fun with headaches.

The problem is, that even if someone claims to be good, there is a chance, no one believes you. I tried to answer the questions posed to me, but I'm not sure, if I did a good job dragontartare: Thanks for the mod link. At the moment, I still like the puzzles, but they might get tedious later on and so far, I hadn't had planet survey. Is modding easier in ME2 than in ME1? I want to give my Shop some less military clothing, since she isn't a soldier anymore and I hate those clunky armors. She is a Sentinel, which imo is a bit like a thief or thief/mage combo in fantasy games, so she should have something, that let's her move more freely. BTW: is it a glitch that sometimes my character won't move in battle at all? When I get out ov cover and try to run to the next cover, sometimes my Shep can only walk or do nothing. Is it something, the enemies can do? adonniel: I struggle with the controls too. It's a pain in the backside sometimes. I found the update station, but the lack of stats is frustrating

To everyone: do you think this idea of mine unbalanced the game too far in the other direction? I'm kind of thinking that if we keep going this way in future games, we may need to guarantee that Miranda, Liara, and Garrus are always good in addition to always being in the game. What do you think? I'm not sure I like second-guessing absolutely everyone. fylimar certain attacks can momentarily stun Shepard, but if that's not it, then it sounds like a bug. Or...make sure you've actually left cover before trying to go anywhere. Try pressing your hotkey again before running. adonniel and fylimar This may sound crazy, but don't worry so much about weapon stats. Whenever you pick up an upgrade to one of your weapons, the game will automatically equip it for you. It isn't like ME1 or ME3 where you have tons of the same class of weapon to choose from. The only thing you really need to worry about is the type of weapon you prefer to use, and which heavy weapon you want to carry. The arc projector is a nice default there, but if you have enough heavy weapon ammo and want to annihilate everything in sight, take the Cain. You'll only get one shot with that one, though.

I think Liara should definitely stay on the Good side for balance reasons as well. As for Garrus and Wrex, I think if Wrex is in play, Garrus should probably be on the opposite team. But I don't particularly mind if Garrus remains a Good /Evil role. As for Miranda, if she is Evil, then either Kasumi or Javik have to be Good for balance . I would probably have Miranda remain Good however just to spare myself a headache .

Fair enough. I wanted to do it the "right" way my first time playing, too. I installed mods for run #2 I just wish there were mods for the minipuzzles in ME1. If you lose the mod, you can always just ask again Thanks, I'll keep that in mind. ME1 has the gel, which I view as a quick opener. I got randomly lucky with that gaint bomb as I had 307 gels out of 300 needed to diffuse it. Maybe not as available at the start of the game but by mid I had enough gel not to bother with pesky puzzles. I guess I'm better at talking to people when I have a dialogue wheel to choose from. I could probably use one irl too Oh I don't know. That conversation wheel has tricked me plenty of times. It only gives a fragment of what your character will say and I'm often wrong about what the brief version means. Choosing 'I didn't do it' will likely cause you to drop everything on Cassandra's foot and run for the mountains with an evil laughter. I think we do need more floating roles if spies keep roles. I'll have more thoughts on it after the game is done though. Yea 3 guaranteed roles is too much for the spies. I would think Liara needs to be the only guaranteed role and she should always be on the good side, otherwise, aside from role claims heroes get few clues. Everyone else, I feel, should be a fair game. I also think that players needs to be told immediately upon the person's elimination if that person was good or evil. It doesn't feel right having to wait another night to find out. As for Garrus and Wrex, I think if Wrex is in play, Garrus should probably be on the opposite team. That blows the evil's cover by default.
