Space Cowboy in the narrative where Garrus shot Wreav, Garrus seemed to be a good guy shooting an enemy. Was that done on purpose to indicate he's a hero, or was it simply intended to not reveal anything in particular about Garrus? Sorry I missed this. I'd prefer you made up your own minds about Garrus Wreav, EvilWrex.. hahaha

At the citadel already? That was fast! Yeah udina is a good pick. I feel sorry for anderson though. Not yet. I've talked to Miranda and Jacob. Both of them claim the Council is useless again. I didn't go to Citadel. I've just finished exploring new Normandy and set course for Omega since they said we need to recruit some scientist. Landed on a station and ran into a merc guy making pancakes out of some sniveling alien. That's about it. I've also met Tali, but she refused to join my team. I wander if there will be another opportunity to recruit or she held a grudge for yelling at her in ME1. I guess there was a mini toaster boss fight when I met Tali. It's funny I've used rpg kiting tactics in a shooter game to get rid of it without even dying once. That stupid robot kept chasing my Shepard around a bunch of crates and trying to unload his machine gun into her face at point blank rage. While we kept running is circles, Jacob and Miranda were standing directly behind the toaster and unloading all of their ammo into it.

I don't know how many times I had to use Shep as bait in so many of those boss fights... A.I hacking helps a little to get the mech off your back, for like a second. Then it just boots back up to unloading everything on to Shep, and just Shep.

I only had a moment to use one skill on him and then it was meet heavy machine gun. The freaky part is how he's not nice and slow like those nice toasters in ME1. This guy is FAST. I must have made 500 circles around the crates until it kicked the bucket. What's with Shepard tank all the time anywho. I understand if Shep is a tank class, but going agro on squishy one is certain problematic.

I guess it's supposed to make it challenging for the player, but instead it makes your companions pointless. That toaster freaked me out. He didn't do any introductory dance and ran directly at Shepard. I only had a moment to use one skill on him and then it was meet heavy machine gun. I'm playing a sentinel in ME1 and just did Liara's recruitment. The last krogan kept charging me because Ash and Garrus were dead already. Very annoying, but if they were up, the mobs pretty much left me alone. Focusing on Shepard was far more noticeable in later games. It did happen in ME1 though.

oops. Voting Romice. *** Regards the mech, I just drag everyone into the building; why even run about? There's ammo for the grenade launcher in there. I just directed the other two to cover, hunker down, use Miranda's warp, etc and just whittled down the mech. I hardly use the grenade launcher.

And where did I contradicted pela? I trusted her (I would put in here a confused smiley, only I can't access them on the cellphone). Sorry, I meant you seemed to contradict yourself when you told pela you understand her suspicion of you, but didn't understand mine I'm voting dragontatare Don't know what she's doing trying to raise suspicion on me. Asking you to actually participate so we can judge your guilt or innocence isn't the same as raising suspicion. The spies know your true allegiance, but as heros we have no idea. If you yourself are a hero, then you aren't doing much to help us win. I'd have a much harder time disliking them with Anderson in charge. While Udina is a Marker sent to pick on. You could always hate the other councilors while still liking Anderson He's awesome and I wish we got a lot more of him in the games. Landed on a station and ran into a merc guy making pancakes out of some sniveling alien. That's about it. Zaeed? He's the only companion whose loyalty I refuse to earn, but lots of people really like him. He's useful in a fight. The scientist you're going after on Omega is an awesome character too, and you maaaaay find that you'll recognize Archangel I wander if there will be another opportunity to recruit or she held a grudge for yelling at her in ME1. If you want an answer to that, yes, you will get to recruit her later, no matter how much you yelled at her in ME1. That recruitment mission is a bitch, too. Take plenty of heavy weapon ammo. I guess there was a mini toaster boss fight when I met Tali. It's funny I've used rpg kiting tactics in a shooter game to get rid of it without even dying once. That toaster freaked me out. He didn't do any introductory dance and ran directly at Shepard. The praetorian? Yeah, it targets Shepard directly, no matter what Shepard's class is. Kiting is a good way to keep away from it, just like the Arishok

Very annoying, but if they were up, the mobs pretty much left me alone. Focusing on Shepard was far more noticeable in later games. It did happen in ME1 though. That bothersome Krogan was the second longest fight after that 1st big toaster. He has the meanest punch ever that killed Shep in something like one of two hits. But, he wasn't necessarily after Shepard specifically. I had Ash on the team and sometimes I got lucky he went after her first while I had time to keep firing at him. But yea once he attacked Shep specifically it was over. He was faster too so couldn't outrun him. I like ME story, but I don't like shooters in general. ME1 is better than ME2. ME2 is doing all this additional complexity with clips and weapon reload and etc. That's too much attention to weapons for my taste. I like my games to be rather simple. So far I haven't exactly figured out how the armour and weapon upgrades work, but I've noticed the lack of inventory. So much for getting the gel by recycling the loot.. oh wait.. what loot... there is none at least not in inv which doesn't exist. This has a bad taste of non pc friendly console combat. It's weird how J doesn't open the journal.

The armaments are also much better. The tougher ones are the possessed praetorians. Those in ME2 are definitely a bit difficult.

So much for getting the gel by recycling the loot.. oh wait.. what loot... there is none at least not in inv which doesn't exist. I actually like ME2's way better than ME1, which I find cumbersome. An in-universe upgrade rendered omnigel obsolete, so you don't have to worry about that anymore. Once you pick up the scientist, you will use the upgrade console in the science lab to add any upgrades you pick up. You can check out Shepard's armor choices up in her cabin and apply them by clicking on her dresser/closet thingy. You don't have to worry about managing squad armor, and you will be prompted to choose their weapons when you take them on missions. When you pick up upgraded weapons, they will be automatically equipped to each squadmate who can use them (though you can switch back to a previous weapon if you want). Incidentally, mods are available to auto-win the puzzles and to make planet scanning go faster, if you are interested.

But yeah that praetorian. ugh. heh Oops, yeah, wrong mission. Hey, they both take place on planets with rectangular buildings and lots of critters to shoot. That's my excuse and I'm sticking to it. adonniel , there's something to look forward to! The praetorian! That's not a praetorian, dragontartare . You'll confuse adonniel. But yea once he attacked Shep specifically it was over. He was faster too so couldn't outrun him. I did it about 5 times before I got fed up with having to drop the difficulty just to get through it. I have no patience for that. I dont remember having such difficulty before. Maybe just rusty? The krogan hides until all your team are dead and all the geth are dead, then charges you. At least what it did to me. I could have been better prepared, like I didnt have unity yet. Usualy I do a bunch of little quests before I do that one too. I like ME story, but I don't like shooters in general. ME1 is better than ME2. ME2 is doing all this additional complexity with clips and weapon reload and etc. That's too much attention to weapons for my taste. I like my games to be rather simple. Same, I play for the RPG parts. Sadly, as you noted, they really stripped out a lot of rpg elements in order to appeal to the 'cod' crowd. Or something. ME2 is still a fun game if you take it as the main focus is meeting all the characters. Yeah and M doesn't open the map. Because there is no map. In most places anyway. The hubs have a map iirc. No omnigel either, they lampshade that later in a dlc. They made it simpler in a lot of ways but not in ways I liked. Definitely made to be more console friendly. Mind you ME1 was a console exclusive before they ported it to PC. The biggest change to ME2 from 1 was the near abandonment of interesting world building for the 'rule of cool'. Even more so in 3 and in MEA.. well... I'm not going to say anything about that one.

You could always hate the other councilors while still liking Anderson He's awesome and I wish we got a lot more of him in the games. I wish Shep could hit on Anderson. Zaeed? He's the only companion whose loyalty I refuse to earn, but lots of people really like him. He's useful in a fight. He seemed like an utter creep. I'm sure he'll get along fine with my Renegade Shepard. That's not a praetorian, dragontartare . You'll confuse adonniel. That's a YMIR anti-infantry mech. Yeah.. that's the guilty bugger. Too late for that. I feel like Shep wasn't the only one who got blown up two years ago. I don't remember ANYTHING about Cerberus from ME1. Weren't we fighting the Reapers and some overgrown fire hydrant with a massive superiority complex?

I spent the last 10 minutes looking for the planet scanning mod, before I realized that both things I mentioned are part of the same mod. If anyone is interested, here it is: No MinigamesNo minigames, and single-probe planet scanning. Just make sure you scan the gas giants in the Sol system. Yep. Definitely probe them a few times, even if you have the mod above. I wish Shep could hit on Anderson. I see it as too much of a mentoring relationship for that, but I do wish we could see more of him and Shepard working together. He seemed like an utter creep. I'm sure he'll get along fine with my Renegade Shepard. Yeah, I can't stand Zaeed. Utter creep indeed. Even with my renegade I couldn't bear to get his loyalty. Can't say more without spoilers. I don't remember ANYTHING about Cerberus from ME1. Weren't we fighting the Reapers and some overgrown fire hydrant with a massive superiority complex? They show up in some side missions and do sleezy, shitty things. We weren't fighting them primarily.

They were involved in a couple of a side missions in ME1 that you might have not played or forgot about, but don't worry. Everything to know about Cerberus they'll explain in ME2.

There're two; Admiral Kohuku and the rescue of beleaguered Alliance outpost in Styx getting attacked by rachni. Later Shep tracked a signal to an abandoned freighter where you find the recordings of a Cerberus commander talking about the shipment from Noveria; rachni eggs that hatched.
