Selection of each person for the various tasks is vital. So as Sgtreed says, you may get one choice right for that particular section but if you get the other one wrong then someone will die and not necessarily the poor choice. It is what I enjoyed so much about ME2; that your choices really do make a difference to the outcome. A real screw up Shepard can even die themselves.
Provided everyone is loyal then it is down to thinking what you know about each person, their leadership qualities, their survival skills, their biotic power, etc. Sometimes it is better to let your LI lead a team, even if it means they are not with you for the entirety of the mission, because they are the best person for that job. You have to think with your head and not your heart.

You can talk openly about the suicide mission. I was spoiled about that years ago I haven't played much the last week. I was busy writing and had found Riverdale on Netflix. But I think, I don't have that much to do until the suicide mission. The mission, where you get Legion and some minor stuff. If Legion doesn't hurry up with his loyality mission, I really can't help him. One question: if I kill off Miranda in the suicide mission, then I would not have to bother with her in ME3? I took Jacks side in their fight and so far, whenever, I try to talk with her, she is just bitchy and tells me to go to Jack. I decided, she is not worth it and I don't want to bother with such a character in ME3. So if there is a way to get rid of her without loosing anyone else, I would take it. The rest of my crew is fine and I don't want to loose the Scottish mechanic, he is fun and bad at card games

You can talk openly about the suicide mission. I was spoiled about that years ago I was spoiled even before I got spoiled. Still, experiencing the spoiler is not the same as reading about it. I still find plenty of surprises during the game play. I knew that team members will die, but didn't know when and how or the tricks needed to keep them alive, aside from higher chances with loyalty. The game gives description of the skills required for each task and recommendations for the team members. It seemed clear that Tali or Legion are best for the first one and hybrids aren't a good idea, but there was no way of knowing 1st team leader will also influence it. I must say though Miranda isn't really the best choice for anything, but she's such stuck up implying she's best for all jobs. One question: if I kill off Miranda in the suicide mission, then I would not have to bother with her in ME3? Admittedly, I was more inclined to pick the members my Shepard cared for the least or had less pragmatic interest in keeping alive. The rest of my crew is fine and I don't want to loose the Scottish mechanic, he is fun and bad at card games Sure sure rub the salt into my wounds. I loved those engineering crew members and their lack of skill in cards. Another evil choice right there, but it will be interesting to see the replacements in ME3.

I must say though Miranda isn't really the best choice for anything, but she's such stuck up implying she's best for all jobs. She's actually a good choice for Leader, if she's Loyal. Also, Space is right about the replacements in ME3, but the scenes with them instead of the original crew members just aren't same imo. The scenes in ME3 with the replacements were pretty much meant for the crew members to be there and you can tell. So I usually try to save everyone during the Suicide Mission so I don't have to see Not Mordin, Not Jack, etc. Oh and you should be able to complete Legion's loyalty mission in time, flyimar, but there is another confrontation with him and Tali. If you're unable to settle the dispute, I would pick Tali and talk to Legion afterwards. You could be able to regain his loyalty with a less demanding renegade or paragon check.

Apologies for the delay in posting this but as I believe you are both veteran players I think you may appreciate this tie breaker. For the sake of those players who have yet to complete the trilogy, possible spoilers are hidden so it is your choice whether to read them or not.
Shepard studied the two suspects. Why had his fellow heroes made this so difficult? Either one could be hero or an enemy, both or neither. He realised there was a way to test this.
“Okay, I want them placed in separate rooms where they can’t communicate with one another.”
He went to the first person and placed 3 boxes with a button on the table in front of them: one was coloured blue, one was coloured green and one was coloured red. Then he did the same for the second person. After leaving the room he opened the com channel to them both.
“One button will allow you to live, one button will eliminate you and one button will let you live but convert you to the opposite side.”
Please PM me with your answer. This is a first come first served choice. If your choice has already been taken, I will ask you to choose again. You have twenty four hours to decide. If you fail to choose then I will decide the outcome by random selection.

Shepard watched through the screen as the buttons were pressed. He sighed and shrugged. They were still no wiser.
“Okay, you are free to go.”
Both occupants left the room and were welcomed back to the team.
Nobody was eliminated.

Actually I guess since it was an either either or choice, only one had nothing happen, the other switched sides. And since the game isnt over, the one who switched wasnt the villain. This means one of those two is a cerberus agent now.. hmm

I wonder if Gervaise would be able to look me in the eyes and say there is no bias right about now. Yes, absolutely. I gave the two players a choice. I even made that choice relevant to the setting so veteran players could use their knowledge to inform their decision. Going forward it should still be possible reason things through based on everything that has happened thus far. The odds still favour the heroes.

Actually I guess since it was an either either or choice, only one had nothing happen, the other switched sides. And since the game isnt over, the one who switched wasnt the villain If you read the description for the Harbinger of Doom you will realise that this statement is not necessarily true. So long as either the Cerberus Agent or Harbinger is in play then the game will continue.

It would have been better to inform the players that a tie could result in players being turned prior to the start of the game since I personally wouldn't have opted for a tie had I known, but it's a fun way to resolve ties.

Prior to the start of play I hadn't thought of any of this but when the tie occurred I had an idea to make it less random chance and give the players some agency. I was also very conscious of the need for fair play all round. Trust me.

I'm just jelly that villains seem to win all the tie breaker situations lately. I bet both Moon and Tittus are evil now with our luck.

I was also very conscious of the need for fair play all round. Trust me. Obviously I have no idea whether the results of this day have benefited the heroes or not. But, when I break ties in my game, I still ensure the player choice is taken into consideration. The players have voted to eliminate either Moon or Tittus and neither was eliminated. When I have used the vials, I have ensured to make conditions that one person would die no matter what. Neither getting eliminated is like villains getting a double kill or one free night for killing. You have also taken a player away from the Hero side on a whim during the previous voting round by converting them into a neutral evil role. Seems like an overkill to mess with the ratio again by randomly converting. The villains are getting too many out of the blue benefits.

Only one of them can select any given option. There's also the possibility the ceberus or the harby agent got converted back to the good side. (I doubt we are that lucky though) That said, Gervaise is in my position last game, learning the Gm role so I'm willing to wait and see what she does with it. She did say something about wait and see for the next narrative.
