I used to stand for what's right
believing I'm some Hero
trusting in my might,
I used to look up to Shepard
eons ago,
but now, he is gone;
vanished without a sight

before the thrumming began
before I could feel the chills
I used to believe in a better tomorrow

Oh, what a fool I was
looking beyond the hill
heart not so full of dread and sorrow

But now something bigger,
has gotten a hold
and try as I might
I cannot get free

the strings are winded too tight
and under their control
I am no longer me

But why should I resist?

Under their gaze, the inevitable

So I will serve and do my bidding
