From the narrative, it seems as though Vella protected her attacker? Or maybe I'm reading it wrong and overthinking it. The fact that the quarian is "innocent" while the asari is just "a certain asari" is suspicious to me. But yeah, what Gervaise said originally.

You know, I tried to find a good gif of a skeleton eating popcorn to post here yesterday, but none of them were satisfying enough, and I figure you guys deserve the best, or nothing at all. The afterlife is rainy and cold, but there are free brownies, so that's a plus.

as the night grows near
deep in the Tuchanka wilds
two figures fend for themselves
fresh from becoming exiles

one exile was responsible for crimes
involving the surviving group
their hands still blue and bloodied
their minds still fresh from another
messing with someone's pea soup

the other exile was rather unfortunate
for they were as innocent as they could be
their crime being only stalking the others
to figure who they were, without being seen

whatever their crimes now
do not matter against the new threat they face
mother nature, indifferent she is
to the starving exiles
as they imagine they were in another place

to fight against going hungry,
and to scratch their violent itch
the evil exile goes off to hunt
hoping to surviver the encounter,
with a belly full, and hands rich

untrusting of their rugged environment
the innocent human decides to just sleep instead
desperate to make it out in one piece
and to outlive the wicked he dreads


and as the Mouse dreams away
all alone in his frail tent
there stalks a pack of five
waiting, hungry, and filled with predatory
intent

and as Aethyta hunts away
hands bloodied once more
belly full, enriched with meat
their lies a deep bite mark
in the arm, laced with venom
thus, an accelrated heartbeat

As the pack attacked
satiating their hunger for the long day
all that was left of Mouse
was his torn tent
The Tuchanka winds drifting it away

It was too late
when Aethyta realized the bite
thus sealing her fate
so with blood rage, she went back
not content with dying unless someone
pays with a forceful attack

Conrad didn't see it coming
he was too caught up listening to his admired "boo"
but when it was all over; Aethya down
he was in the arms with the one
he knew to be true

Death and mother nature
holding hands as the night finally falls
with yet another one frail, drifting from life
the dwindled group soon wonders
