Hi All,
Looking for a favor here. Shortly after ME3 was released, somebody wrote an essay regarding what he or she felt were the thematic problems with the ending of ME3. In my head, I remember the author calling the endings a thematic betrayal of the series, but I don't know if that's actually verbatim or not. This was, I believe, prior to the release of the extended cut. If I recall correctly, the author was a philosopher or some other flavor of academic, but that's really all I remember about him or her. I happened to reference the existence of this essay elsewhere, and somebody asked me for a link, but I have been unable to dig one up. As far as I can recall, this essay got a lot of discussion on the original BSN back in the day. Does anybody remember it, and if so, could you provide a link to it?
Many thanks!
P.S. My goal is not to discuss the merits of this essay or the (potential) problems with the ending of ME3. That has already been done many times (!) before. I'm just hoping somebody remembers this essay and can point me to it!

Meanwhile, despite the ending, ME3 remains my favorite game. I suppose I'm lucky I play on a PC and the ending can be modded in a more agreeable way.

I keep going back to the well for more and more. I have an embarrassing 1400+ hours logged in on Origin, and by far most of that is SP.

The part I always love best about people saying there are thematic problems with the ending are how single minded they are. No other possibility or ideology can exist besides theirs despite the game being about personal choice and actions that they game creates inconsistencies the size of planets to allow it to happen. The endings fit the thematic of almost every possible set up the players can do with in the game. With each ending fitting the choices made rather perfectly.
