I haven't seen this on the forums before so I thought I'd share it here right now. While looking up the work of one of my favourite environmental concept artists, Richard Wright, I stumbled upon a nice concept art matte painting that was apparently used for the E3 2015 announcement trailer for Mass Effect Andromeda. The picture below appears to be a very early version of Habitat 7, because of the floating rocks. What do you think? Here is the link tot artist's webpage. Could have been Kadara as well, due to that crazy shade in the water and the rocky outcroppings. Might have been that Kadara's vegetation was not supposed to look similar to Eladeen's before.

My problem with Andromeda is that, the in game environment don't resembles the game's concept art.Concept art looks waaaay more good than the final product.

Even the concept art of Andromeda looks dull. It's a great painting, but the environment is lifeless which is boring for me.

My problem with Andromeda is that, the in game environment don't resembles the game's concept art.Concept art looks waaaay more good than the final product. That is normally the case, artists don't have the restrictions of developing a game around what they draw and it might just not be possible to recreate and work on the machines they are aiming the game to run on.

It might be, but in ME1 some of those places were just gorgeous in game. Plus, knowing that you could get there was another thing. That picture? Looks like it would take the mako from ME1 days and days to get up there.
Meh.

My problem with Andromeda is that, the in game environment don't resembles the game's concept art.Concept art looks waaaay more good than the final product. I went into the game expecting lush environments, like several planets looking like the good parts of Aya or all of Havarl. Instead every single place is desolate and trying to kill you. Granted they had the plot excuse of saying the imagery scans of the Cluster they went off of would be hundreds of years old by the time they got there, which in the end happened to be the whole Jardaan getting obliterated and their terraforming network screwing everything up. Apparently the event triggered by those Element Zero bombs cascaded across the Cluster and tore entire planets apart. Would've like to see that happen actually.
