NOMAD

Not heard of that quest and this is my second playthrough. Thanks will look it up on youtube.

In 14 runs, I sorta got a bugged version of it once (which was my first indication of the mission), got it for real two other times.

If you've left Elaaden, you need to go back, hit the nearest forward station (based on your google search of the mission) and hoof it to the oasis from there. When you get to the oasis, you will have a choice, with respect to the person you encounter. I've done both choices, the obvious choice is the one to take (IMO). Either choice completes the mission.

You don't need to hoof it back to the Nomad, you can fast travel to a forward station and repair the Nomad there.

It is a quest, there should be a NPC in the area where you broke down and completing a minor event where they are will resolve the issues with the Nomad. I would suggest loading a save prior to porting back if you have one for I think you might have to walk all the way back out there to resolve the quest if you don't.

In the quest "Out of gas", The quest starts when you travel along the northern border of Elaaden map, around the center.

That's... kind of what happens, eventually.
