Great. All weapons that I have at X and with variants. Piranha and Rozerad were pretty good already; this is going to make them even better. Eager to try out the buffed out Sovoa; wonder if they fixed the priming issue with it (or would that require a patch?).

Interesting. I suck at math but Savoa top dmg went from 79 to 105 which I believe is ~33%. Sustained dps on thethird race is 832 so 832*.33 = ~1105 [edit - missed the ROF increase, that is huge...] making sovoa a true beast when factoring the massive force increase should = stagger fest. [edit - oops, missed the massive ROF increase for Sovoa. holy shit that is a massive increase....] nm I misread the #'s - sovoa is mostly rof and force increase with modest damage boost.
Meanwhile the already godly rozerad got a ~24.4444% rof boost which similarly makes it more beastly but without the downsides of slow projectile flight time.
Silhesh should be more competitive
Valkyrie is still bad on paper. Again my math could easily be wrong but sustained dps is more or less equal to sweeper vs health and armor (719 for Valk, 715 for sweeper) but falls WAY short vs shields where sweeper is over 1k dps and valk still stuck at 719. I'm not sure how they calculate "burst" dps but if you apply a 17.3684% increase (223 is 1.173684 more than 190 listed on thirdrace) then new burst DPS is over 1k which is up there. I have an X Valkyrie and 2 variants so maybe I'll dust those off, finally.
On paper at least that Valkyrie buff is woefully insufficient as this gun will still lag behind many rare guns and still a bottom end UR but maybe there's something I'm missing...

Why do they keep buffing the Piranha?!?! It has already been an atrocity since the last buff.

Why do they keep buffing the Piranha?!?! It has already been an atrocity since the last buff. Its a highly inaccurate weapon. It requires a 100% weapon boost from hover on specific kits to make it better. Yet, it was losing to the Shorty on damage output. If you're bettering your hover skills, doing all this work to boost its accuracy and it still can't beat the shorty, its a stinking shame. IMHO, It should be more powerful than the shorty with hover. And since you have to go through the pain of mastering hover, it should be able to beat the shorty with its armor dmg bonus, etc as a reward. This is a long awaited damage boost. The shorty can continue to be the go-to weapon for any ol' scrub. Piranha needs to be qualified as the weapon for the elite.

They buffed the Silhesh? Significantly?
WTF!? That thing already fucking melted. Think I had it at VIII when I quit.
I haven't played in a couple of months, but I might dust it off for a few games just for lulz.

The Piranha also got a clip size increase from 8 to 12. A Turian Soldier can have a standard clip size of 15 with 5B Munitions Training and with Dump Heat can get up to 27 shots in one clip!

I haven't played in a couple of months, but I might dust it off for a few games just for lulz. Yeah. Pistol buffs are a really weird thing to do at this point. I'm not really sure what they're thinking. The whole point of previous changes was to get a better balance between pistols and long guns. This kind of screws things up again. I would have rather seen a buff to the Revenant as well as a reload time reduction to single shot sniper rifles.

I figure they are making the base UR weapons more powerful because most players starting today will never get their URs to a high level, let alone UR variants. If they get a Rozerad drop today, would they use that in favor of a Siphon/Concussive/Bulwark weapon that was Rare or lower? Buffing them so they did more damage might make them decide to go for the UR instead.
Now, for those of us that have been playing a long time, our high-level UR and UR variants just got even better.

ALL test are performed with level X or equivalent variants (since all variants are level X). Gold DIfficulty All test are done based on a few factors.. Price (URs being worth 1-10M payed on to unlock them), Weapon class comparison, Funtionality (headshot accuracy, stun rate, ect), and overall fun factor scale. Sovoa Test done with base Sovoa with AR short barrel and AR mag. Pre patch- Complete trash, not even worth 1M, Great for getting a useless finger workout. Barely a 2 Post patch- No longer trash, would say it can be called an UR and worth 1-3M. A solid 6, not bad at all, but not all that great. Ronnie's Feelings- Much more single shot assault rifle feeling, but doesn't feel very AoE and can't seem to prime anything. This is imo now the UR variant for those who like using Mattock/sandstorm/halberd type weapons. Special note, that If this weapons "siphon" mode drains well, it will get bumped up a point or 2. EDIT***After Unlocking the Siphon and actually getting to focus on the performance rather than surviving, I will give this gun alittle more credit. A solid 7 for vanilla 8 for siphon. Special Note*** Try this weapon out on a turbocharge class like Havoc or Commando with incendiary ammo and full weapon buffs with assault rifle boosters...just don't break your fingers... Rozerad Siphon III with Pistol Receiver and Pistol Targeting system (no scope accuracy) Pre patch- Very high DoT, "comparitively" very high accuracy and lightest UR. 9 Post Patch- Ok, don't know who fucked up, but this is now the only auto weapon anyone should use once its unlocked. 10.... Ronnie's Feelings- Soooo yea, this thing primes as fast as the Hurricane now, and has a faster rate of fire and damage and better accuracy than the hurricane... anyone still using the hurricane just does not have this weapon. Period. As for the buff, I can't tell if its because it has a higher STARTING RoF, or if the gun "spools" up faster, or both, but the start-full fire time feels like it was cut in half or more. Also can't tell if the Cap RoF was raised as well. It seems like its shooting much higher than 975. On another note... the gun seems to have "lost" accuracy due to the speed at which it fires co-relating with the accuracy bloom. Valkyrie with AR short Barrel and AR Receiver Pre patch- Very Poor comparable DPS, Not reliable offhost, Very accurate, Great Headshot weapon and overall utility. 6(offhost) 8(on with great aim) Post Patch- Same shit. I couldn't tell there was a patch change... 6-8 Ronnie's Feelings- I actually really really like the valkyrie even though the RoF and actual DPS is trash. The gun is light, reloads fast, and unbreaking P.A.W. diamond accurate. Shooting enemies regularly is meh damage, but headshots drop enemies VERY well. The main reason this gun is on my regular rotation is the siphon "chunks" of HP I get from kills. Gun fills HP bar on the regular. Naladen Concussive I with SR barrel and -20% weight mod. Pre patch- Great AoE, Close and long range functionality with no hip penalty, mediocre damage. Worth about 6M and rates about 6-7 Post Patch- The extra damage/force and 15 extra RoF, this gun feels much more comfortable and priceworth. Rate a solid 7 maybe alittle more. Ronnie's Feelings-I don't use the Naladen much, not really my style, I like to hit hard and move on, and naladen took to long. After patch it feels more bang and move. Not a bad weapon at all, great to use, but not very platinumy. Worth about 7M imo.

So these balance changes to the Soava would explain why my Turian Havoc was twatting everything even faster today, good to know, in fact, most of those buffs will add a lot more.
Nice.

Silhesh and Rozerad both seems to "get there" faster now, there meaning enemies faces Also man that Sovoa blast power, so much stagger! Need to test Piranha and the rest later. This day was just blasting away with silhesh (II), rozerad (VII) and equalizer (X)

Hopefully they give the extremely overweight, overlooked and underpowered Soned a touch of love in another 3-4 months. I want to like this gun so badly, but its weight and completely bad performance just is a big turn off. You would expect it to do something amazing given its so heavy. But it gets replaced by Hurricane (which now is replaced completely by Rozerad) soon as you unlock it. The only reason I find to use Soned at all is in +50% Assault Rifle damage missions, with Platinum 40% booster.

So they still decided to do some balance changes. Kind of surprising but it would have been nice if they, oh I don't know, fixed warp's expose evo while they were at it.

But then again I don't know, my opinion of bioware is only solidified in that the games they produce, are unreliable and untested. Other things, like this balance change just continue to surprise me.

The buffs are hilarious, though I'll jump on the "rozard didn't really need the buff but YAY" bandwagon. The other changes are all justified for sure.
The Soned really could use some love, mainly because of how impractical it is on platinum due to high amounts of berserkers in most waves. It's weight also hinders it for my default "carry 2 random scrubs in platinum" class (usually I play operator while buddy plays stealth grid, usually we have to duo 3 waves before a 3rd/4th joins). Soned needs to do 30+% more ramped dps than a hurricane for its cost (weight, ramp up time, accuracy) to be worthwhile. Clip size is not a substitute for dps when a blaze Hydra is running you down while berserkers spam flak.

Dat rozerad...! Too bad I don't have it up nearly high enough to get a siphon version. But it's great on the stealth/priming toons nonetheless.
Also, Biower is still doing updates???

These people are idiots. Yesterday I would've agreed, at least with the "glad I moved on" sentiment if not the balance-related specifics (a part of me is just glad they're still trying), but I got an invite last night from a buddy I hadn't played with in months and dropped in for a half-dozen plat games. It was only the second time I'd logged in since the week after the last two characters dropped, and the first non-solo games I'd played since well before that. Had a lot of fun. I may pick the game back up for while. Re the balance changes: I was happy to discover that they finally got the Piranha right. Played with both Piranha and Shorty a couple of times each, and neither felt like they outclassed the other.
