What do you think of Peebee's Writing?

1) There's a character discussion forum. You can argue that you're trying to keep away from so-called "Romance enthusiasts" all you want - you still picked the wrong forum.

2) Poor wording. Are you asking me about PeeBee's overall character, or the written messages she sends?

3) Poll spam is fucking annoying.

Slightly above average, one of the few characters with any sort of commendable character development. They got something right if I at least didn't find her boring straightaway.

In general I liked Peebee, but I found her writing used an inappropriate number of human idioms without explaining why Peebee uses them. For example, at one point she says Ryder is "batting a thousand," which just seems oddly specific. Why would Peebee know the rules of an Earth game that isn't even the most popular sport on Earth today, let alone in the future? You can say she's just using an Asari idiom that is being translated that way, but I found it jarring. There were several other instances that I can't specifically remember at the moment. Peebee just seemed too conversant with Earth culture and English idioms, which I would be fine with if it were acknowledged. ("Oh, you humans were new, so I obsessed over you for a couple decades. How about that 2035 world series, right?")

Like the other characters, I wanted Peebee to explain the Milky Way to Jaal (a new twist on the info dump characters from ME1) because her perspective would have been amusing, and it also would have served to give information to the players who hadn't played the MET. Also, as a Remnant researcher, I wanted her to have her hero moment where she figured something out about the Remnant that furthered the plot.

Peebee: Relatively speaking, one of the better written parts, but I only rated Good. I don't think any of the companions were written Excellently.

The writing got the job done -- she's established as selfish, a loner, and very private about her past early on, which intrigues the player into wanting to know why. Which the loyalty mission explains. Her banter vs. Cora was pretty good, acting as a so-sick-of-asari foil. Her banter vs. Drack was good too, as "old timers" complaining about being old, lol, and about regret.

She was like half Indiana Jones and half teenager (well... she was young).

She could have been better if they would stick with one of the halfs, used fewer human slangs and just go with the "be more Alien" idea.

Not bad, not good. Beside the forced flirty situation right at the first meeting, and the invitation for the sexy time at zero gravity without player input, that is becaming really tiresome for me (can I play a non otome game where my female protagonist is not mistaken as bi/lesbian without any player input from the game? If my character likes girls will let know. Thanks. I know, is mostly the problem of writing with a straight male protagonist as default, but still is a little annoyng for me)
I have little to say. Sometimes Peebee was funny (with sleeping Jaal on the Nomad, for example) but many times she talked like a very spoiled kid, and annoyed me.
I Don't hate her, I find her funny sometimes, I just felt annoyed by the forced flirting from time to time, and the exessive childishness.
I appreciated the fact that she is not Liara 2.0

I like her writing fine, but I would have preferred a proper commando, whose closest equivalent would be somewhere in between Ashley Williams and James Vega. Of course, this would require reworking the basis of Cora’s character, but I’d be fine with that. Better an asari go on about huntresses and reminiscing on them anyway.

Peebee is the Sera of MEA. I like Sera, but I don't need her blueprint in every game. I would rate her as mediocre.
