Also her way of describing the Creators as "those who the elves worshipped as gods" rather than simply "the elven gods", sounds more like something Solas would say. So what do you suppose she is getting at here? Morrigan doesn't really believe in ANY gods. If you talk with her in the temple, Morrigan will express doubt that the elven gods were really gods and say that maybe they were simply powerful mages. Solas gets annoyed and accuses Morrigan of dismissing Mythal outright and Morrigan will then say that one need not be a god to have value. And her beliefs are most likely a product of being raised by Flemeth. Flemeth would know, after all.

Considering how Solas views gods, you'd think he'd agree with her. And, as it turns out, she was right. Maybe he was annoyed by that more than anything.

Hah, could be! To be honest though, I think Solas was more annoyed that Morrigan seemed to be dismissing Mythal completely, as in if Mythal wasn't a god then she didn't matter at all. Which, given the way Solas feels about Mythal, really would annoy him.

I thought Solas was annoyed that Morrigan was acting like she was an authority on elven culture while getting so much of it wrong. Kinda like how in Futurama, Fry visited a museum of his time period that assumed the machines that built cars were Neanderthal shaped robots and that the pizza paddles used to pull pizzas from an oven were disciplinary tools.

It seems like the Temple of Mythal was probably the largest amount of frustration and annoyance Solas had experienced in one place in the entire game. I mean he can't reveal too much or run the risk of revealing himself and then there's this person who spouts off about elven history/lore like she knows it all! But she's wrong and he knows it but he can't say anything ... gah! lol

Like seeing the place of your childhood as a tour. ...Right, before I forget again, I wanted to ask if anyone was interested in starting up an Elven thread like Tapster's Taven for dwarf fans. I'd start it, but I'm not sure that's a good idea since I've got an absurd title stuck in my head. "Dalish-iousness! Their elfishness brings all the shems to the yard!" *facepalm* No...I definitely should not pick the title. It's so offensively wrong on so many levels.

Reminds me of seeing photos of a place I used to live in. It was a military base (when I lived there) but now most of it's been abandoned. It was incredibly surreal and kind of depressing. Obviously not on the same scale as I imagine what Solas would feel but still. And that title may be horribly wrong but still it made me laugh ;D

If Solas has woken up for the first time since he put up the Veil, it might explain why he's so desperate to bring it all back. He's like Javik, where it was but an instant to him sleeping through all those millennia. Man, thinking about walking through New York City after several centuries of abrupt abandonment would be tragic and trippy. As for asking about starting an elven thread up, I figured I'd ask the Solas thread first since all Solasmancers are dalish players and the odds are highest that someone might have an opinion about making an Arlathvan 2.0 thread like in the old forums.

I think that what makes elves elves aren't genetics as well, I mean, I'm pretty sure that's what PW means in this tweet: The only option you are left with is magic. It's kind of interesting once you think about it, the elves of Thedas, while very different from their ancestors, are still elves. If elves are elves because of magic that would mean that once the Veil is removed they might undergo some serious changes and become more like the ancient elves. If I had to guess I'd say the reason the current elves are so small (both shorter and skinnier than humans) is because they are magically malnourished. Like a child that doesn't get eat well won't grow up well, an elf that isn't connected to the Fade won't reach full growth potential. I'm guessing that elven children born after the sundering of Veil would be as big as ancient elves. "Genetics is the study of genes, genetic variation, and heredity in living organisms." - I'm quoting the wikipedia definition of genetics. Elves may become elves by magic, but it's still because their parents DNA (magic DNA whatever). So it's still genetic. Trust me, I'm biotechnology student ( and I breed chickens in free time). I just LOVE your theory that modern elves are magically malnourished! It explains everything so well. Can we Blanketforters get some fried chicken ?

Can we Blanketforters get some fried chicken ? NO!!! I could never kill my chickens. They are my my pets primarily. And they have blue skin and meat, so it would be the strangest fried chicken you had ever eaten. However I have fridge full of their super organic, ecological, etc. eggs. Have a picture of my favourite one, his name is Red If Solas has woken up for the first time since he put up the Veil, it might explain why he's so desperate to bring it all back. I think it was different for Solas. He slept, yet was (semi)conscious in the Fade and managed his agents (if he had more than Felassan) from there. When he finally awakened it must have been surreal experience for him, but not because he wasn't aware of time passing, but rather because he experienced history in fade in form of dreamlike visions created by spirits, it felt unreal and that is why he, at first, thought of modern thedosians as tranquil and not real.

I love your chicken, particularly that little "hat" over the beak (I dare say it has a correct term but that's how it looks to me). I know what you mean about not being able to eat you chickens, I'd be the same. I've been considering getting some chickens but I think I'd soon be overrun with them. Instead I have two ponies, a rescue cat and a wild pheasant who has adopted us and become a little less wild as a result.
What seems strange about Solas is that he must be aware of things in the real world. He recounts how he saw a baker in Par Vollen. That could only be via the Fade and considering how anti-spirit the qunari are, it is curious he should have seen that vision at all. So the stories he gives about places down south he could actually have visited during the year he was awake before the Conclave but that one seems out of place. He also mentions to someone about seeing Val Royeaux back when it was a primitive settlement. I wonder if that was just in his sleep or he has actually visited it.
The problem about the pro-elven thread is that it always seems to attract people who are anti-elf. How about calling it Telanadas (nothing is inevitable), which is a suitably optimistic name for a thread about elves.

It's in a banter with Blackwall I think, and he says at some point that he "left that memory quickly," so yeah, dream. That being said, I still think Solas wasn't just sight-seeing in the Fade for all that time. He probably tried to reach out to the Dalish via dreams, if that Keeper's hound story that Merrill tells is any indication. It'd explain his hostility towards the Dalish as well - he didn't talk to one clan and then immediately give up when they attacked him. He tried probably multiple times over the centuries and was consistently rejected. Now to be fair to the Dalish, I'd be pretty spooked too if Satan showed up in my dreams to tell me he's really nice guy and just wants to chat about some Fade rocks. But still, it's the only thing that really makes his distaste for the Dalish make sense. Also no opinion on the elf thread. I only made a Dalish PC because I was told you get the most romance options that way, so I probably won't be hanging out in there

The problem about the pro-elven thread is that it always seems to attract people who are anti-elf. How about calling it Telanadas (nothing is inevitable), which is a suitably optimistic name for a thread about elves. Chicken are great. They are pretty self-sustaining, every year I have 10-15 chicks and with the money raised from selling them, I can easily afford vet and grain for my main herd of 5. And eggs are the best, it's none of the bullshit they are selling in markets The correct term is "comb" I suppose, but for my rooster, the beret is more fitting. This photo was taken 5 years ago when he was still chick, now his comb covers most of his head. Chickens from this breed are unnatural mutants. NightSymphony - Red thanks you very much for compliments. He says that he woken up a year before the events of Inquisition, so I suppose he didn't make a break in his nap since he created the Veil. The only explanation why he saw this is that he was seeing it in the fade. He must have been aware in his sleep enough to maneuver Fellasan. Even if the events of Masked Empire were taking place less than year before Inquisition (I don't think so), Fellasan is awake (if he really is ancient elf) since Briala was teenager and he already was doing Solas job. So I can safely assume Solas was aware of time passing in his slumber, to this pint he could observe real world events and instruct his agents. ellawyn - Dalish legends say that Dread Wolf indeed was stalking dreamers, I don't have codexes but I'm sure it was said somewhere in games, so you are right. On the old forum I lurked in some elf threads and the amount of hate was enormous indeed. But I will look forward new elf-centred thread here.

I don't have an opinion on a dedicated elf thread either. Personally, I feel like I get all my elfy discussion right here in the Blanketfort. Solas is the nexus if so many things, after all.

Ooooo, that would explain a lot. Like walking amongst people you've mainly just observed like in a story. And you have pretty chickens! That is a gorgeous blue! The problem about the pro-elven thread is that it always seems to attract people who are anti-elf. How about calling it Telanadas (nothing is inevitable), which is a suitably optimistic name for a thread about elves. I don't think the Qunari are necessarily anti-magic, just massive control freaks. Makes me think of what Bull said about dragons and how they represent wild fury and chaos and the appeal of taming that fury, of bringing that chaos under control. That is troubling, and I've noticed that there are some very passionate opinions on the dalish. I was hoping for more positive outcomes like a successful Wycome mission that was not dependent on player choices. I like Telanadas!

I have a question for those of you in the Blanket Fort. Have any of you translated what the Nightmare Demon says to Solas in the Fade at Adamant? I am very curious.
