Aww bless my Lavellen for finding him in a dream. I like that! Much better than him bopping her over the head haha. But... I thought only mages could lucid dream, my girls a rouge. But never mind! Thanks for the answer peeps  (edit: Ninja'd ) I believe it was said that the anchor allows the Inquisitor to find him since it's tied to/the key to the fade. Dwarves usually can't even dream. Also, I still have these as smiley hotkeys.

Random morning thoughts.... Got up to fade tongue scene last night and was wondering.. How on earth does he get you to the fade without you knowing? Obv you would've had to fall asleep. So, when you say i want to know more about you and he says come on lets go somewhere more interesting he must take you to your room and make you fall asleep instantly? He obvs puts you in bed. Then does he go to his own room and fall asleep there? Coz he's not next to you when you wake up.. So what do you guys think happened? I know, i know its a game and it doesn't matter but i like things making sense. My brain likes to make sense of everything and it is exhausting I think it's only mentioned in the non-romance version of the scene, but you were already asleep when you first go meet him. His line "You continue to surprise me" isn't referencing their interest in him, but their ability to dream lucidly enough to find him in the Fade. That being said: Alternatively: omg comic nr 1 sums it totally up! but why is the inquisitor not suspicious because they are in haven? I mean haven is destroyed ... or is it like in "real life" when u dream. because I heard when you dream your logical thinking is kinda disabled and you don't question things.

And the fact the breach is still there which they'd just closed, you'd think there'd be a "hmm something seems off" lightbulb moment. I'm just telling myself that its the whole dream logic thing that you mentioned. Loads of weird random things happen in our dreams which we don't question within the dream.

lovelykotori Mass Effect 2 is an awesome game, so once you actually get into the game I don't think you can stop (I couldn't at least!). And there is Garrus... Also, a reminder; don't forget to install the extended cut before you play ME3! It is vital for a more satisfying ending! The first time I played ME3 I made sure to download the extended cut because my sis-in-law told me how unsatisfying the ending was without it. Evidently something went wrong with the download and install because I ended up with the vanilla ending. I fixed it, loaded, and tried again...I was no more satisfied by the ending, honestly. The one extra line from Garrus was nice, but the circumstance didn't make much sense to me [vague for spoilery reasons]. Something something Solas. ᕙ(⇀_↼)ᕗ Honestly, its go modded or go home, for me at this point. Thankfully there are several ending mod choices. Regarding Fade Haven: The nonromance version does answer the question of why you were in bed. It doesn't answer when, though. First time I played, I spoke with Solas almost immediately after the scene in the grand hall where Varric hints he brought a certain someone to Skyhold. Like... when did I go to sleep? And when the Solas scene was done and I came down from my room, the main hall was cleared of debris, which means I apparently waited a day before doing anything else? O.o Its like the time bubble IB's first Skyhold scene or Cole's last scene are in, I guess. I wonder if Skyhold was originally meant to have a day and night cycle or a triggerable transition like Kirkwall?

Yah...that only happens in dreams...right... I totally didn't question being in HAven that first game. I think the second I boot up a video game, I logical thinking and disbelief is pretty suspended. Also, it hadn't occurred to me, since I didn't see it physically happen, that Haven would be buried in snow and completely unusable. I guess I thought we'd gone to Skyhold because Haven was compromised and we'd gotten too big for it anyway?

I think it was intentionally supposed to confuse the player (it sure as heck did the trick to me!)... as for specific time - I guess they've left it up to us.

May have been better to trigger the scene when you entered the Quiz bedroom for the first time rather than clicking on Solas.

May have been better to trigger the scene when you entered the Quiz bedroom for the first time rather than clicking on Solas. That would've made more sense, like maybe a quest like "retire to your quarters" as part of the explore Skyhold quests. Click on the bed and then it switches to a scene when you approach Solas. It would still be confusing to begin with but that's the point. They way its done at the min it seems i dreamed my whole inquisitor ceremony and my conversation with Hawke coz i strolled over to his room after talking to her.. Haha nevermind.

I have't played the Solas romance path all the way, but I've been listening to music videos of the romance.
Lavellan says, "I loved you, do you think I wouldn't have understood?" Solas says like "I'm sorry" Ir Abelas LAvellan then says, "Ter Abelas." Which, considering context, kinda seemed to me to be saying, "Fuck your sorry." LOL Or is this just wishful thinking?

"Tel'abelas. If you care, give me the truth." is the full quote. I think it means something like "Don't be sorry! Make it right." in this case. So in a way, yes.

It's been a while since I've played through Trespasser so I might be wrong. Elven LAnguageIt says, "I'm not sorry." But if that's what it means, it doesn't make much sense in the context of the conversation. Your version of "Don't be sorry, make it right." makes more sense. I also like, "Screw your sorry. If you care, give me the truth." I think I'll keep it that way in my head. Thanks for your translation though, or I wouldn't even be able to head cannon that.

Just my personal interpretation of it. My Lavellan is very level-headed and she doesn't anger easily. If I was playing a Lavellan with a temper, I would make it, "Screw your sorry!" The elven language isn't really set in stone, so it can be interpreted however you like.

Some phrases in the elven language seem to have multiple meanings, depending on the context/situation. Or whatever mood that particular writer was in that day. Or if the writer was drunk. Or high.

I tend to think that the ambiguity and multiple meanings are done on purpose. I think it's a hint as to the origin of the elves.

I just tend to get a little irritated about the ambiguity of the elven language especially when the devs refuse to give us translations because "spoilers". It's also a little irritating when Lavellans can understand that one line the spirit of wisdom says to Solas but apparently nothing else in elven thats ever said in game - given how that one line is translated into English but none of the others are. And yes I know it was probably just oversight because non-human protagonists were added later. Still annoys me. I also know that others have asked the devs for translations and I don't know that anyone has gotten an answer other than "can't 'cause spoilers". Sorry for getting a little ranty there. It's one of my pet peeves lol.

Agreed that it seemed bizarre that Lavellan could perfectly understand some but not all Elvhen, especially if they drank the Well of Sorrows and could follow all this other ancient Elvhen stuff. But I actually really like the ambiguity of the stuff we do understand. It seems poetic in some ways. Also, perhaps naively, I hope that the ambiguity that crept into Solas' Trade speech (the language you played the game in) carries over into what he tells us in Trespasser. "Oh! You misunderstood. I didn't mean I'd literally destroy your world! It was just figurative speech, vhenan." Team Optimism!

Ehh, things like Lavellan not being able to understand all Elvhen after drinking the Well doesn't really bother me too much because of how she can understand the otherwise impossible to understand Elven writing in the Temple of Mythal. To me its just an oversight and I'll headcanon it out for my character. Although I think in-universe Lavellan might not understand some Elvhen after drinking the Well because it hasn't been revealed to her yet. It isn't like a dictionary or encyclopedia in her head, its more of a connection to priests of Mythal who are not subject to the wills of the person who drank it and reveal information at their leisure. I don't think you can ask it information and expect an answer that matches.

Someone on this thread suggested to me that the reason the elven language doesn't make sense is that when the veil was down, elves used to be telepath/empathic so the language was half felt half spoken. I like that.

Phoray, that's my take on things too. It all ties in to the possibility (probability?) that the elves are spirits in physical bodies.

Apologies in advance for interrupting the thread flow.
Many moons ago, a young Solas romancer and obsessor elven woman left her clan to explore the greater world. She was often prone to such behavior, as were many others of her clan, therefore it was not so strange when the moon cycled through its phases and she had not returned. Eventually the seasons changed and the Solas romancer and obsessor elven woman did not return home. In truth she found solace in another world and the longer she stayed there the more distant the memory of her former obsession love and family became. She found much joy and comfort, and also pain and sorrow, in the Realm of the Elderlings, but eventually she finished catching up on all the published books in the series her time watching this world came to an end and she had to move on or become consumed by the cliffhanger ending that world. It was in those low moments of despair that she remembered an old pain and another world where she had a people to share her pain with. After starting her Lavellan over to replay Inquisition and the Solas hurt once again, and also going on a Dragon Age YouTube binge reliving the memory of her past experiences, she decided she would return home, but what awaited her was not her people. It was a forest of emptiness and echoes of times gone and past. Where were her people? What had happened to her home? She slipped into the Fade and searched for answers by backtracking a whole lot of pages through the spirits that remained there and their memories of the events that transpired. A great calamity had sent her people searching for a new home! As she looked around her once great forest she was saddened, but knowing her people persisted gave her strength. If they had survived their journey to a new home, she would find them.
And so goes the story of the great NeverlandHunter. ...... .... I HAVE FOUND YOU!!!!! Blanketfort, fellow Solasmancerians, my Lavellan lovers, People of the Egg, The Weekes' cult, Agents of Fen'Harel, Team Optimism flag holders, Riders of halla and unicorns, cookie sharers and Solas co-conspirators! I have returned to my people!
