When it comes to DA2 I'm an equal-opportunity romancer. Whether I go with Fenris or Anders depends on the Hawke. Sebastian even got a run, though I found the romance wholly lacking on the rivalry side. Alistair is my canon DA:O romance, since I can't have Teagan or Riordan, though there are a couple of Zevran lovers amongst my many Wardens. My first run was a mage who got dumped, meant to feed herself to the Archdemon, and then watched Alistair steal her kill and die in a glorious beam of light. That may have soured me on Ali for a bit but I just can't resist him. Then again, my canon Warden ended up being a female Aeducan, which made for some awkward scenes. Much as I pined for Cullen for years I found his romance too easy in Inquisition. It just didn't click for me, much to my disappointment. Happily, Solas was there to comfort me...and dump me, leave me, and steal my arm.

Happily, Solas was there to comfort me...and dump me, leave me, and steal my arm. There better be a sweet pay-off for Solas mancers in the next game. I want time devided between my inquisitor and the new protagonist (think of Geralt and Ciri in the witcher series), so they can make up for the lack of content in inquisition.

Deny all you want but the writer did put Briala as a woman of color. I think you don't like people to point it out for what it is. If I remember correctly, its Briala that doesn't like the fact that her skin is a little darker, not Celene. Celene keeps thinking about how beautiful Briala is towards the end of the book. And the focus is not on her skin color it's on her being an elf. Also, please be kind. I don't know if you meant as such, but your last comment is a bit personal. Edit: Yes, it's Briala herself. Page 45: "Her skin was darker than Celene's, though she spent most days inside and showed no tan lines at the bare skin around her eyes. Briala tried to ignore it, but Celene knew that she was quietly ashamed of it." Celene then goes on about how beautiful she finds her. The black curls lightened to gray with the pre-dawn light, then slid to the light brown of cinnamon as the sun brought color to the room. Dirt-brown, Celene had called it. She called her hair dirt meaning that she's filthy and unclean which shows that she hated her but craves her for her own sexual needs which it is a fetish. And the whole thing about "Celene then goes on about how beautiful she finds her." contradicts itself of how she described her and it is obvious that it is a fetish rather than genuine love.

Okay, so if I don't like my husbands beer-gut, but I am attracted to him anyway that's a contradiction? Do I have an unhealthy fetish for bloated stomachs? Or do I hate him, but for some unknown reason I stay with him for sex? When you love a person, things you don't like about their bodies become irrelevant (in moss cases anyway)? Not to mention, she is the bloody Empress of Orlais. She could get another lover if she wished. She even avoids marriage in part because she LOVES Briala. You know what, believe what you will. You want it to be that way, so that's how you will see it regardless of what people say or show you. We enjoy coming here to discuss Solas and exchange ideas, so please try to be nice to people .

now I'm curious and want a statistical breakdown of how many Salosmancers are Fenrismancers, how many are Andersmancers, and how many are "other" I'm an allofthemancer! Pretty sure that's a thing. Though if I had to choose, Fenris is probably my favorite DA2 romance. Salos is a sneaky heart thief. Also an arm thief. Probably stole tiny cakes too.

She never loved Briala. She's nothing but a pet to her and a tool then throw her away when her usefulness served it's purpose. And if she really loved her so much then why did she slaughtered the elves who were fed up by humans, and all they want is justice for the nobleman who murdering elves? (And she told Briala right in her face that she doesn't regret what she did to the elves!) And to top it off she killed her parents who served her, and you mean to tell me that she loved her despite her atrocities that she committed and not feeling any regret? Dude. Get real. 😕 P.S. My point still stands that she "liked" her because of her skin color and it still relates to the common dangers of interracial relationships based on that.

Deny all you want but the writer did put Briala as a woman of color. I think you don't like people to point it out for what it is. That was not the point of the comment. Most of Briala's problems stem from the fact that she's an elf, not PoC. Also - Briala's skin is tanned. There's an excerpt that explicitly states so in the book. "Her skin was darker than Celene's, though she spent most of her days inside and showed no tan lines at the bare skin around her eyes. Briala tried to ignore it, but Celene knew that she was quietly ashamed of it. Not the ears that gave her away as elven even beneath the mask, not the lovely liquid eyes, but her sun-touched skin, dotted with a spray of lovely freckles."It's actually one of more obvious (and stupider, but hey, we people can be stupid that way) origins of racial prejudices based on skin color (not-nobility - darker skin color; nobility - lighter skin color due to not having to spend so much time in the sun), so it's not like both things aren't related. But Briala's issue with her skin is that it's sun-kissed and whether she's actually PoC or not is not really addressed. And while I can't speak for the author I don't think Weekes would be opposed if people imagined her that way. The main heroine of his own book is PoC after all. OK. Let's examine. Now the book have said that Briala's skin tone is darker than Celene's, right? And the writer described her skin tone "sun-kissed" which means she can get darker from the sun, and that right there describes her as woman of color. Fair skin people like Celene cannot get dark from the ☀ only tan and turn red. So there you go.

Laughed at this. It reminds me of this: This Yes, because God forbid characters have lives outside the protagonist. Especially when they've already chosen someone else .
Fallout 4 allowed players to romance everyone at the same time. Is Bethesda showing sexual progressiveness, or just caving in to player entitlement and lazy programmers? YOU DECIDE !

I actually love that they do this. I first felt bad for Fenris, when romancing Anders, because he seemed so lonely. So high-five to Isabella. Now, I have the opisite problem in Mass effect. I ADORE Garrus, but then shepard dies and he ends up heart broken. If I romance Thane, they will both be dead and Garrus and Tali can be happy. But be damned if I don't romance him almost every time anyway because

I have mixed feelings about the whole NPCs becoming couples if you don't romance them thing. On one hand, I think it is nice and the couplings are usually really sweet. On the other, beause of that I can't bring myself to romance those characters anymore because it feels I am ruining that.

Leliana's arc is longer than just one game and is determined by multiple factors and people in her life. Bull's life isn't dependent on us being the one and only best friend - Krem is that best friend. If we take Chargers from him, not even romancing Bull will keep him from betraying us. And so on.
