Oooo, we could all have a Fandom Tea Comparson. It'll be like a Forum Tea Party. I think we know exactly what kind of tea party it'd turn into.

Gunpowder for Anders, sprinkles for Hawke... Edit: also the Sera tea. "This tea contains a high level of caffeine"

SIGH...
I bought the Merrill tea...
In my defense, it sounded... dalish-ious.

Puns are a little like blood magic.
Potentially corrupting, but when properly used, capable of great things.

Omg, the Kaidan one sounds delicious. I'm going to order some this weekend. *nods to self* Do I need a special thermometer to steep the tea? I've never had loose tea like that? How do you measure it out? SO MANY QUESTIONS

How do you measure it out? SO MANY QUESTIONS You need one teaspoon of tea for each cup you want to brew, roughly speaking. (If you're making multiple cups at once, you probably want to add an extra teaspoon to make it a bit stronger.) You probably want a tea pot of some kind. (It's possible to brew it in the cup using various strainer-like devices, but pots are easier and less likely to result in leaves all over the place.) Also a strainer if the pot doesn't have one built in. Put some hot water in the pot and tip it out in order to warm it up before you put the tea in. If you're making green tea, a thermometer can be helpful because you shouldn't have the water above 80 degrees (Celsius) when you pour it over the leaves or it will be scorched and bitter. If you're making black tea the water should be boiling anyway, and you probably don't need a thermometer to tell you when that's happening.

How do you measure it out? SO MANY QUESTIONS For that tea? No. Its mostly black. As the above poster said, one teaspoon (cooking teaspoon, not what you'd use for eating) per cup. Its black tea, when the water is boiling, gently pour over the leaves. Let it sit for 3 to 5 minutes. Remove leaves from tea. The hardest part is if you dont have anything to infuse with. Something has to hold the leaves. Unless you plan on straining you tea after you steep it, but who wants to do that?

A word about strainers/infusers...make sure it is something with a very tight weave, so even the smallest bits of leaves can't get through. My personal favorite is Finum.

But I've contacted Adagio twice with questions, always responded within 24 hours. I have a pot like this Amazon Tea pot that comes with a built in but pop out strainer.

Hey, all that matters is you get the water to the right temperature.
Some people just like the "ritual". I know that electric kettles are much more efficient and heat more accurately, but then I wouldn't get to hear my teapot whistle when the water is ready.

I made some Varric yesterday. I couldn't find the strainer ball thingy that I'd gotten at some point, so I used a coffee filter to get the leaves out. It was working fine until I lost my grip on the filter and made a huge mess It wasn't bad. I think I let it steep too long, and next time I will use more leaves to get a stronger flavor.

One way to get the full flavor from your tea leaves is to make sure they have room to completely expand and unfurl in the water. Keeping them all bunched up in a little ball means they can't release all that goodness.

The leaves were loose in the water, and then I just poured everything through a coffee filter when I was ready to drink it.

Alas, you can't get the Dragon Age or Mass Effect ones on the UK site. I shall have to stick with Twinning's Earl Grey. Considering some of the descriptions, it may be a good thing

Can this be the unofficial merch thread? There's so much cute shit on etsy and redbubble. The Bioware store seems really lacking in comparison... which, you know, no big deal, but there's clearly a market for this stuff. Like these plushies! Look at tiny beardy Blackwall! Or this bracelet! Or literally all of this!

Oh yeah, tea and bourbon are like 75% aesthetic to me. If I don't have a fancy cup sitting with me at a table, I have very little interest in either. The teapot really ramps up the luxury of the aesthetic experience so is important to me to enjoying any teas.

I am always weirded out by the fact that electric kettles aren't ubiquitous everywhere. Living in Australia, I don't think I've ever been into a house or a workplace that didn't have one.
(Never mind the tea, how do you make instant noodles without one???)

(Never mind the tea, how do you make instant noodles without one???) Boil water in a pot. Add noodles. Poke impatiently until they are exactly the amount of under done I prefer. Pour in big bowl. But "soon" I'll have a Hot Water Tap. Ish fancy, and is pretty much an electrical kettle that's attached to the sink.

Instant noodles = microwave food. Or boil water on the stove.
