With EA's first remaster this generation (maybe ever? I'm not sure on that) and what seems to be a change in attitude over remasters from focusing on new games to now remastering Burnout Paradise. Here is what they have said in the past about remasters in general. Interestingly to say the lease, these comments were made about the subject of remasters just a couple of months before MEA came out. "Remakes, because of who we are, and this broad portfolio of intellectual property...you add all that together, I don’t know where we find the time to do remakes, […] We’re a company that just likes to push forward. For a lot of companies, remakes are a way to drive revenue. It’s sub-cost, it’s an IP that’s there, you can remaster, and that’s great. We don’t do that here. I don’t think that’s ever been in our culture." I don't know why they would choose Burnout (I loved Paradise by the way) over Mass Effect, this maybe bias, but I feel that Mass Effect as a wider appeal to audiences then say Burnout does. Once Anthem fails, and BioWare is all but shut down.
I can see EA putting together a halfassed trilogy remake with none of the DLC included as a way to leech more money from the BioWare fandom.

My guess is burnout is a comparably easy remake.

If I was EA I would stay away from remaking Mass Effect because no matter what they do it won't be enough or it would be too much and ruin the game there is no pleasing the fanbase of BioWare games so why give them more ammunition to use against them. I have personally seen threads over the years that all have "BioWare better do this" and then "BioWare better not do that" on every possible part of the game.
If BioWare "fans" weren't so fickle I think there would be a better chance.

So either you release super old mechanics on the game or its even more work as you try to upgrade the combat system to something more modern. Now a reboot, where they upgrade all the systems to modern game level and make some story changes here to make ME2 seem more connected to the story and maybe a way not to have no way to continue in the milky way without making a ending canon in ME3 I'd love. It's just not going to happen.

My guess is burnout is a comparably easy remake. Oh I don't disagree, but there comments about remasters have been said that they prefer new games as opposed to remasters. Having Burnout Paradise being remastered says otherwise. I still think it's a long shot, mind you but I just think that it's possible. Especially where the state of the franchise in after MEA. A remaster could help them decide on what to do with the franchise if they should proceed with a new game or not. Note: I liked MEA.

Not as much as the OT, but its still fun. I just don't read much into this because I suspect racing games are probably the easiest games t remaster. I'm not a programmer so I may be wrong, but I suspect there is a reason racing games have such super high graphics that they use them as examples of what systems can pull off. And that reason would make a remaster really easy compared to almost every other genre. And while I doubt it will happen I'd be fine with it, I'm on PC so I doubt it would mean much to me, but if they also released a switch trilogy version I'b be thrilled, on the go ME wold be sweet. I'm looking forward to burnout RM, I love the burnout series and paradise was a solid entry.

This is great news for a Mass Effect Trilogy remaster in my opinion, they specifically said they don't like doing remasters but here they are with one. Just because it may be easier for Burnout does not change the fact they said they would never do it, I had lost hopes of this ever happening but now that has changed.

Yah, I'm not seeing great things in the future for Anthem or ME.
BioWare definitely has some shaky days ahead, and if Anthem doesn't succeed I think it's over for the BioWare teams. Note the plural.
And even then, it's gotta succeed in its intended market. But, I just can't see BioWare becoming like Bungie or like Activision. That's just not who they are.
Possibly we'll see a remaster of the three games. Dunno. With probably so stupidly easy combat that a five year old could master it within ten minutes. Prolly a mix between ME3's combat system and the stodginess of ME1-ME2. "Whew, that wasn't easy." After you barely fought.
It'll be a joke for future generations to laugh at.
Why am I all of sudden feeling sick to my stomach?

Nope. EA will never allow a niche genre to have a remaster. Don't believe RPG's are a niche genre -at least where EA is concerned? Consider this: 98% of the companies that make up EA either make FPS, TPS, racing games. Only TWO make RPG's and one studio has not been heard from since 2014. Which leaves only Bioware as the sole RPG studio. Furthermore as much as some of us want them to be shut down for being killed so much so far -EA will not kill them -yet. EA will want to milk every cent out of Crapthem and continue to milk SWTOR and any other online game it can. Gone are the days of remasters to bring in solidarity money -when people will buy a new game in more bulk. I am not sorry if that crushes dreams but reality is in fantasy is out.

I would love an OT remaster. I'd buy it on the PS4 and the Switch and for my friend's PS4 cause he's never played it and for everyone at work and for everyone at the bar where I go to celebrate if/when they announce it.

I won't lie, I would likely buy a Trilogy Remaster. I am ashamed of that admission, but it is the truth. The OT was my heart and soul once upon a time. Granted I would once again swell with rage and bitterness once I reached the ending of 3 again, but regardless.
It won't happen, ever. You could not simply do a remaster of ME1 without basically totally making a new combat system. This new era of gamers would simply refuse to accept such a horrid and clunky system. Likewise EA would demand the trilogy be redone in Frostbite, because of course they would. Bioware would be totally crippled by that fact alone. All those in game assets and resources only exist in Unreal 3, and would need to be mostly remade from scratch for Frostbite. Bioware would simply be better off totally remaking the OT in Frostbite, which while I would prefer that, with drastic alterations to how the narrative unfolded AND concluded. There is even less chance of THAT ever happening.
So no, nothing will ever happen with this, because it's really just not possible in any way that EA would consider profitable.
