...if anyone has fifty minutes to spare and feels like riding the nostalgia train, I found this. It's an interesting look at the franchise (and its marketing) from infancy til now. I'm curious to know what direction they'll go with DA4's trailers, whenever they get around to releasing some.
*I noticed a handful are missing

Did I miss it or is "Violence" trailer (with Marilyn Manson's song) not in this list? That was THE BEST!

I'd not seen the early Origins trailers in their entirety before. Why do you suppose they show the Warden with glowing blue eyes? Was that when they were thinking of a different unique ability that allowed you to kill the arch-demon? Then they just left it in because it looked cool even though it was no longer part of the storyline? After all, glowing blue eyes are usually associated with someone being possessed or linked in some way with a benign spirit. Surely, if it was meant to show the taint within them then the eyes should have glowed red.

Did I miss it or is "Violence" trailer (with Marilyn Manson's song) not in this list? That was THE BEST! I didn't see that one (my least favorite actually looool), the casteless dwarf one, or the really tacky one with Morrigan/Leliana gyrating all over the Warden (that might've been part of the Violence trailer, it's been so long since I've seen it). Might've been a couple missing from DA2 and DAI but I didn't watch it all the way through. I'd not seen the early Origins trailers in their entirety before. Why do you suppose they show the Warden with glowing blue eyes? Was that when they were thinking of a different unique ability that allowed you to kill the arch-demon? Surely, if it was meant to show the taint within them then the eyes should have glowed red. I think it's just 'cause it looked cool. Kinda like Leliana flipping from a zillion feet in the air in the Sacred Ashes trailer and not breaking every bone in her body.

I assumed it was to show the effects of the rune on the sword giving him a sustained buff (ENCHANTMENT! in other words).

After all, glowing blue eyes are usually associated with someone being possessed or linked in some way with a benign spirit. Surely, if it was meant to show the taint within them then the eyes should have glowed red. The glowing blue eyes, was an early concept for the wardens, to give them an unique trait and uniqueness in their aspect, like a visual distinction per say. If it had something more into it, we will never know, as it was a ditched concept. I don't know if it's true but I read somewhere that one of the reasons it was ditched is because it could be weird for people seeing their eyes glowing, and that the fact that the color was blue could not please everyone taste and well a couple of more silly reasons to not put it in the final product. I've said it a lot of times, but ditched concepts like the commoner Origin, the barbarian one, the concept of your companions getting the taint and putting them through the joining etc, had a lot of potential, this actual concept we are discussing from the blue eyes for the Grey Wardens, all were really cool ideas.
