I can't really see the Geth or Quarians being on the Ark given that one, or both races? could potentially be wiped out. Not true. It is canon that regardless of what occurs on Rannoch, there are Quarian and Geth still around allied with the galactic forces. They can just be in much smaller numbers depending on what happened. Plus chances are we leave before Rannoch anyway so both would still be around.

Only races I would like to see return are: Quarians, Batarians, Geth (and Protheans)
However, it seems unlikely or unrealistic that any of them would actually make it to Andromeda. So who I believe are going to be there: Volus and Salarians. It would be funny if the Turians were left behind.

I see only the Yagh not being really in the Ark. Well, at least if some Salarian didn't decide to take one or two "test subject" to study... After all, Yagh had nothing to fear from the Reapers, since their race didn't have yet the tecnology to travel in space.
Geth I can see as not being in the Arks "offically", but some program can simply be somewhere in some computer, ready to start a "new generation". Plus, they had a way to "enter" in the Quarian's suits. It would be interesting seeing Quarian and Geth living a simbiotic life.

I think at the very least Turians, Salarians and Krogan. Perhaps even Volus and Elcor, but I doubt Yahg and Geth..

,.-~*´¨¯¨`*·~-.¸-(_MEA_)-,.-~*´¨¯¨`*·~-.¸ The only race I can really see for sure tagging along on the Ark are the Vorcha and the Geth.
Both these races have always been a staple of the mass effect franchise, appearing on cover art, in trailers, and the main protagonist themselves - Commander Shepard - was indeed a Geth Trooper. Joke races, such as the Asari, just wouldn't make any sense going to Andromeda. They're nothing but a miscellaneous race. An afterthought, designed only to fill up the universe of Mass Effect.
Humans could possibly make an appearance in Andromeda, as there were a few human squadmates in the previous titles. However, since they are such a niche race, I don't see them making a very major appearance. Last but not least -- Turians. They could potentially make an appearance, but since they can be killed off in Mass Effect 2 if Shepard sides with the Collectors, it isn't guaranteed.

Salarians and turians will be there.
I wouldn't think anyone on the development team foolhardy enough to incur the wruuuath of the Mass Effect fanbase by excluding them.
In that vein of thought, I'd expect to see quarians also, maybe one geth. The quarians can be there, and the geth, regardless of Rannoch.
People seem to forget the exiled quarians that would be nowhere near the Migrant Fleet when the Rannoch situation happened, and thus can be in Andromeda, since many exiled quarians would still be able to contribute somehow in whatever capacity onboard the ship.
I'd like to see geth make a return, other than that, drell, but they are the ones I expect won't be there, unless they are accompanying hanar.

I'm standing by Flynn's comment that humanity took along those races that contributed (solely to the ARKCON project?).
Besides the Council races, I don't see too many "others". However, I cannot understand what contribution the Krogans made.

The Krogan can be there purely on the strength of their adabptability, after all any species that can survive & thrive on Tuchanka can thrive any where, i could also make an argument for the inclusion of a friendly faction of the Geth, they require no food and what better way to maintain & crew your ships whilst every one is in stasis.

,.-~*´¨¯¨`*·~-.¸-(_MEA_)-,.-~*´¨¯¨`*·~-.¸ Our dear Qs may actually be taken along because of their AI expertise.
I'd definitely be surprised if the Quarians were not included. I've seen some people in other threads try to argue that they wouldn't be likely to have contributed, but that makes no sense to me. In addition to their AI expertise that you mentioned, they are also the foremost experts in the MW on living on ships and transporting large groups of people long distances. They are masters of jury-rigging broken tech with limited resources, and they understand how to grow food, manage living needs, and generally cope with the variety of issues that face a spacefaring race. It would be extraordinarily strange for the humans not to ask for their assistance on such a project.

It's ironic that the best species for this kind of mission are the ones most of the galaxy have a negative view of, like the Geth, Krogan, and Rachni. It could be interesting to see both sides put away the prejudices of the past for the purpose of joint survival. We kind of got that in ME3, but this would be able to really focus on it.

Krogan are there for security... you know how people like to gatecrash the end of the world last lifeboat out of dodge kinda thing This is not sarcastic ... I love the visual you created in my mind.
Dodge (technically, Dodge City, KS) ...
Lifeboats ... in Dodge ...
Gates ... to guard the lifeboats ... in Dodge.
Krogans ... guarding the gates ... that guard the lifeboats ... in Dodge.
And some poor idiot, trying to crash the gates (stampede?), to get to a lifeboat, in Dodge ... because it's the end of the world ...
And we all know, lifeboats depart Dodge promptly at the end of the world ... so don't be late.

However, security is a future endevour = in Andromeda and "those that contributed" is an action in the past. I may be nit picking here.... just trying to tie lose ends.
