Tried out a melee-centric Turian Havoc Trooper in Gold Paradox Kett. Interesting build, but I prefer the hovering gunship to this. Went with all melee passives and level 3 boosters. Still not enough to kill a wraith with one jump melee.

Lanat Siphon Platinum and Gold Solos

I have been finishing up the Lanat weapon challenge and wanted to see how well it performed on Gold and Platinum. Verdict? It is pretty good for taking out 1-2 targets at a time if you load up on weapon passives, equipment, boosters, consistently aim for weak points, and have ample time to charge and line up your shots. The problem with the Lanat is its small clip, charge up time, slow reload, especially when running away or being staggered. Also in a solo with a non-stealth character, the fact that every enemy is targeting you limits the overall effectiveness of the Lanat. In a group match, the Lanat works much better.

On Platinum, you can eliminate Destined, Wraiths, Anointed, Sharpshooters, Anarchists, Agents, Saboteurs, or an Ascendant's Orb with a single charged Lanat shot to a weak point. Two charged weak point shots can take down a Platinum Ascendant and Berserker.

Correction: I think I was just under the threshold to take out an Ascendant's Orb in one shot (or I didn't charge long enough). Having Disruptor Ammo III or a Sniper Rifle Amp IV might have done the trick.

I was able to accomplish this with following:

* Sniper Rifle Amp III: +30% damage
* Reinforced Barrel X: +31% damage
* Disruptor Ammo II: +5% damage + 25% damage to shields
* Apex Training 4A and 6A: +28% damage
* Vulnerability VI: +40% weak point damage
* APEX Training 5A: +20% weak point damage
* Charged Lanat: +100% damage

I don’t know what happens when you hit an Observer with a weak point shot. Either I didn’t hit any during the Platinum solo or its shield gate didn’t bleed any damage over to its health. A followup shot was able to take down an Observer. Because of this, I consider the Lanat to be a more forgiving version of the UR Kishock. If you miss, you still have another shot to finish off the enemy.

Of course, all this is possible via charged shots. The Lanat does 100% more damage at full charge. At less than 100%, be prepared to deal with enemies with a smidgen of health or shields left.

In my Gold solo, I did have to pull out the mighty P.A.W. Siphon to handle the Wave 3 Hack, but otherwise used the Lanat (and powers) for everything else. I used the P.A.W. a lot more during the Platinum solo, but I tried to use the Lanat as much as possible during Wave 5.

As in died with one second left at extraction. Stupid Behemoth red ball of energy drain. Firebase Zero with the Turian Havoc Trooper. So disappointing.

Lonely Upload

Started a public lobby for the hyper shields daily Platinum on Zero Kett. No one joined and I got a Wave 6 Upload. No way I was going to succeed that but I did not give the enemies the satisfaction of downing me. I held out until the end of the timer. Tried to get into the Kinetic Glass a room, but couldn’t (it’s a tricky jump to squeeze through the window).

Unfortunately, I was playing on the Weakened Assault Team (using a Cloak and Dagger Avenger build) and died clearing the rest of the Wave 6 enemies. Stupid Anointed shoots me from across the roof!

Damned if they're silent flankers until Soned starts to build up.. I think they're the most killing machines on Platinum.

Double Feature.

Favorite map, mission modifier, and faction means two Platinum Solos today. Was gunning for a sub-20 on the Platinum daily (Sandstorm, Go For the Eyes, Kett).

First attempt got Upload / Hack / Devices. The Upload wasn't so bad, but the Hack was tough with the re-spawning Fiend and Anointed raining Soned down on me at the LZ.



Second attempt got triple Boss. Was able to complete the latter in 19:41. Sure, it was with an advantageous modifier, but I will take it!

Yes, an enemy down to his last point of health or armor is just as dangerous as a newly spawned one. I have been there too!

Steam Controller

My first (and the last) Platinum Solo with Steam Controller instead of KB/M. I usually play ME Trilogy with SC but it feels less comfortable in MEA. SC is better than regular gamepads (trackpads, turbo mode for triggers, gyroscopic aiming), however, it still can't provide precision and speed of KB/M.

And on the 210th Attempt, the Return of the Kroguard is complete! Triple Devices against Outlaws was really tough and nervewracking, even on Sandstorm, but I finally got it done. Video to come.

Zero/Gold/Dampened Weapons APEX with Juggy.
Forgot to record it and to take screenshot, so this one won't be in Hall of Fame.
Got wave 6 Hack on the middle platform; had little trouble with Krogan twins and Hydra at the start, but when I dispatched them, everything went smooth. Extracted in little over 21 minutes.
