Not sure if this is the right place to ask, so, sorry if not but... I've been trying to find a tutorial how to do character body swapping in MEA, like replace Liam with Reyes or Jaal with Reyes. I see a lot of pics and some vids but no tutorial anywhere. I've also followed threads where people ask the same thing from players who have done body swapping but no one has ever bothered to answer these guys. It feels like some big secret no one is willing to share. I want to try, so please, can some one point me into right direction?  |

There are tutorials for armor swapping and other things linked in stickied posts at the MEA modding discord server. Its probably best to try these and ask in that discord if you don't find anything. AFAIK character model swapping is done by replacing linked meshes in the character ( you want to replace)'s meshvariation file with links to meshes of the character you want instead. Party members' meshvariation files can be found under game/characters/party/blueprintbundle_partymember_NAME/
. Though I'm not sure it is completely possible yet to replace party members with other characters due to the bundle loading mechanic. When the Character you want instead has its files only loaded in specific places (e.g., only Kadara) you will CTD everywhere else. |

At Discord some people were asking the same thing without any lightening answers, so I didn't get very far back there. They thought that it had something to do with presets and I tried but only made the game crash. My intent was only to replace Liam's face/hair with Reyes face/hair, like here... www.nexusmods.com/masseffectandromeda/mods/382 I know it can be done, since you can have your the other sibling in the team by replacing the face model and I'm currently playing as an asari. Edit: Well, I tried fiddling with the blueprintbundle files, as well as few others but nothing seems to make a difference. I able to change Liam's face to one of the preset faces (Vik) - which Reyes also uses, I think - but that's about it. Without any kind of instructions/tutorial it's really like fumbling in the dark.  Edit2: Tried just swapping the preset files only but that made the game crash again.  I really want to start my fourth playthrough but I have to replace Liam before I can do that. Edit3: So, no one has any idea how to do this? |
