My most played:
HE + CSMG HI + Widow SI + CSR (for Plat)
HE is by far the kit I'm most comfortable with. HI I keep forcing myself to use because I'm a terrible sniper and need the practice, and have lots of Sniper Rifle Amps. Eh, and I guess I enjoy playing him, too. SI has the combination of dps and survivability that I need to be useful on plat.
Kits I really enjoy but don't play much:
Slayer + disruptor Talon Shadow + disruptor Crusader melee FQI Talon Merc
FQI aside, these are all very lag-sensitive; also, Slayer aside, I focus them all on melee; so I don't generally run with them unless I know I have both competent teammates and a decent host (or I am the host, which is very rare). But when the stars align? A good match with the Shadow in particular is downright magical.
As for the Volus Merc - I find it incredibly satisfying to trap two phantoms and two 'goons in a small room with one little, goofy, angry ball and watch them all flail helplessly at decoys while he staggerlocks them to death.

The other day I did promotions, so I was jumping on characters I have not played on in a while. I have to say that getting back into action as a Vorcha Pyro was a lot of fun.

I am with mordokai here.He has decoy and drone.Biover,pls.Where is the fun here.Bosses (except primes) totally ignore these powers.Dragoons, brutes, ravagers etc. too. That is not the problem tho.I can't see nothing funny here.I can't imagine how somebody can enjoy it,but this is just my opinion.Sure he can help in team, but solos with that guy are pain.Believe me,i know what i am talking about. Yeah pretty much this. If you are not up against Geth or fantrolls, his powers are pretty much useless. Granted, the drone does atleast some damage, but outside of that, useless. Still, having a drone troll that pesky nemesis out of cover never gets old.

Haven't tried soloing it yet, but once I get my PC manifest up, I probably will make it my first Plat Solo attempt If I were to do a plat solo with him it'd probably be against Geth (ugh, but his power set works the most with them) with either the Dark Lord or Venom. Dark Lord, Venom. I don't see much else having any sort of speed with him against on host Phantoms, imo the most pain in the ass enemy in a plat solo. Maybe GPS or Harrier; Talon could work too I guess, still leaves Phantoms being shitty when they dodge.

Though I was thinking more along the lines of Wraith+Scorpion, as I find the Scorpion better for Phantoms and Dragoons (even if the Venom is funnier). I guess it's just a L2Venom thing.

Most stuff gets withing Reegar range anyway so that usually isn't an issue and it's probably the ideal weapon just in the fact that it melts shields and at 60fps it's insane with Incendiary DoT. I'm not a big fan of switching back and forth between weapons, it just takes too long, so Venom is great with the damage of a shotgun and nullifies Phantoms. However, you'll lose the bonus Shield/Barrier damage, which is really where the Reegar excels, that can be very beneficial when Primes and Banshees come rolling about.

So I'll say my piece regarding the VMS. Also will say this I haven't played the VMS in several weeks and haven't played platinum in a long ass time with him. For me personally why I "Enjoy" using the VMS, which I don't blame most people it sounds ridiculous, considering if for no reason at all you tried to convince someone to use VMS over something like the QME/TGI, he/she probably thinks you took high dosages of Acid, to play VMS outside of Geth. And for me the reason why, is because he's different, he has pet powers and it's up to you to figure out, how you're gonna use those pet powers, it's not as ez mode like popping a stim pack on the TGI and going to town with your harriers and whatever AR or weapon of choice. Also another reason why I like the VMS is because he has, some nice multi roles to it's kit, being able to direct attention away from your team with decoy and the drone, able to do revive trips because of double cloak, healing with shield boost and, slap a weapon him that allows him to do good damage so he isn't dead weight trash on the team. In my opinion I believe the VMS still has decent impact, not to the same degree as using him against the Geth, the Geth is literally the VMS's playground. Going down the list Cerberus, troopers, turrets, engineers, nemesis, phantoms, and centurions are susceptible to Decoy. And all you have is rush down dragoons and a slow atlas marching towards you. I think dragoons should be more than fine to deal with, stick a combat drone on the atlas and watch him get annoyed, as he periodically gets staggered by the Drone's 5A shock, bonus points if the combat drone staggers the atlas at the worse time, and interrupts him firing off of a rocket at you. not sure if the combat drone staggers atlas on platinum because I think the staggers thresholds are different?? Bit of a shame though phantoms of all things to get seduced by a decoy (Good shit bioware, did something right there), probably has caused more salty tears to players from these weaboos armed with a sword that can sync kill you, do ludicrous amounts of damage with their palm cannons, and have insane on host damage reduction, and in my opinion they're more threatening than dragoons, brutes, ravagers and atlases. Not much to say about reapers, banshees is the only thing you have to keep in mind, also drone screws her over which is good for caster classes. Decoy pretty much handles your marauders and cannibals. Collectors I'd probably exercise a bit of caution, be mindful of the scions and seeker swarms and then it should be mostly smooth. They're essentially a more buffed up version of reapers. Scions similarly to atlases get staggered by the shock attack from the drone, and again not sure if they stagger on platinum. Geth is self explanatory, put a decoy on a high elevated platform, and geth bombers can't do anything to it, and only rocket troopers can damage the decoy, and I believe they're less common on platinum, so that works even better in your favour. I don't wanna ramble for too long, but this is my current build I use the claymore on him, there's a couple variations you can go with the VMS, like fast shield recharge with multicapacitor, less points on combat drone, combat drone with rockets, less points on decoy, no passives, no fitness, max duration on decoy, whichever suits you. Arkhne already mentions, the standard things to do on the VMS, decoy > cloak > line up shot > Kill what is attempting to kill your decoy. And throw in a combat drone whenever, and use shield boost to keep you and your team healthy. Platinum geth is fine, I remember one time I cheesed them super hard during either a wave 6 or wave 10 hack circle on firebase rio. To the point I got the entire geth army crowded around the decoy and my team only had to deal with banshees the entire time.

Budget - Cremator I was playing around last night trying to get more credits to unlock more of my manifest. I know lulz Reegar isn't ideal for Gold as we all know its OP as fuck, but I ran this build and OMG... The nazis would be proud... (terrible, I know). Someone accused me of cheating. I am just trying to get my credits as quick as possible with a good kit. My venom is still only I but my Reegar got maxed out very quickly. Its like the game wants me to use it. I am out of shotgun amps so ran targeting (budget).

My favorites are:
- All the Volus. Can't get enough of those rotund goofballs. I particularly enjoy the Protector Vanguard; great to follow Krogans around as a pocket healer. - N7 Paladin Sentinel. Snap Freeze is my favorite ability in the game. Slap that Geth Scanner and you'll be killing everyone behind walls. - Geth Trooper Soldier. All that damage boost plus Flamer plus Reegar Carbine. Everyone in your team will hate you, but you'll be melting Banshees in seconds. - Asari Valkyrie Sentinel. It is just a better N7 Fury. Feels great with a N7 Piranha.

- Human Engineer with CSMG. It just feels so fucking good. - N7 Fury with Wraith. Need I say more? - FQE with Venom/Arc Pistol. Not quite as good as HE but still so smooth. - All three Drells, and all three with Venoms. Gotta go fast and spam those grenades. - Geth Infiltrator with, well, anything. Been particularly fond of running it with the Phalanx or Suppressor lately. - FQI with Javelin/Black Widow. Really underrated kit, stickies shit out a lot of damage and Sabotage is nice to have for U/U lobbies. - Quarian Soldier with Valkyrie. All around satisfying. - Turian Sentinel with Arc Pistol. The old standby. - Asari Valkyrie Sentinel. It is just a better N7 Fury. Feels great with a N7 Piranha. Valkyrie is objectively better. These are some scorching hot takes. Once I learned to use the Fury's teleport melee to be hyper-aggressive, there was no going back for me.

It's like comparing Drell Adept with Quarian Infiltrator. Both are powerhouses and depending on map/difficulty/enemy can be better or worse.
Valkyrie has tankyness and damage vs bosses. Fury has mobility, speed of BE's and ranged BE's + instant hitting and unavoidable power with a stagger (DC)
It comes down to personal preference and style, but for me Fury is 10x more fun. She just has more options.

It comes down to personal preference and style, but for me Fury is 10x more fun. She just has more options. Very solid points. You're absolutely right. I guess I just enjoy the Valkyrie's high-risk high-reward and "in your face" gameplay (it is so fun to shred bosses in seconds). I guess the Valkyrie works better in smaller maps such as Firebase Glacier and Firebase White, where enemies tend to cluster a bit more and you don't have to run around in the open. But if anything, I'd say Valkyrie and Fury work great together. ________________________ But guys, I didn't have much time to write yesterday, but I wanna express my love for the Volus a bit more. Volus were my favorite race since Mass Effect 1, and when we got the Multiplayer in Mass Effect 3 I was really disappointed that there were no Volus to be found, until they finally came. And I was even more delighted when I saw that their kit was of a Medic/Utility. As someone who mostly plays Healer/Support in MMOs, MOBAS and such, it was a dream come true. There is nothing more satisfying than hyper-carrying a team with a Volus and Geth Juggernaut (which looks really funny due the size difference, and seeing them side by side is really adorable). Being capable of enabling the team members with Shield Boost is amazing and feels very impactful, as you can save people from the brink of death. I like the Volus so much that I even made an illustration of them for a Mass Effect collab some years ago:

I'm not aware of how this bug works, though. What does it do? It triggers the GCD of the ally(ies)? Basically if you shieldboost at certain times, usually at exact moment when another player loses shields (same bug may happen if you for example Shadow Strike a shielded enemy and get hit at the same time you will either get stuck in red "I'm dying' screen or turn invisible or your sword will go all weird or all 3 may happen) the powers of your teammate will stop working entirely. It's not a cooldown, they will just stop working and you also may not be able to shoot your gun either. So basically you're defenseless and useless. The only way out is to perform a heavy melee, but most PUGS don't know that.

AVS is a better character for me,but i am a fanboy. No matter of the enemy/map/difficult.She requires more skills IMO,despite the fact she is more tanky.Fury can be better on a lower difficults, but on Plat AVS rules.I've done a tons of speedruns with both characters(with AVS much mire ofc ) and the average time with AVS is faster.Hell i even remember my last game on London with her.It was a duo with Lvca_gr and we rolled vs geth(plat)His host was capped at 120FPS and i died 2 times.I just love her.If i have to be honest,i like Fury as well. She is great, but for me AVS is the master.

BioWare gifted Asari Valkyrie Sentinel with all that power just to hide her true nature... once you embrace the full-on asarigasming melee build, there's no turning back.
