Per Twitter, Fernando Melo is still listed as producer on Mass Effect Andromeda and Mac Walters is listed as "Creative Director, BioWare, Mass Effect Franchise". Fernando is relatively active in engaging questions related to the multiplayer balancing but Mac has been a ghost since last March. I know he may be finishing the collaboration with Catherynne Valente on the novel "Mass Effect Annihilation" but still it seems odd that a Creative Director at a high profile company like BioWare would "go dark".
I know we have a rather robust Twitter thread that covers most updates related to the Mass Effect Franchise but I was curious if anyone has heard any rumors related to movement within leadership related to Mass Effect

I think Mac is on the Anthem team at this point, as the majority of BioWare is. He may crop up again around e3.

Mac was Narrative Director and wrote the "Lore-guide" for Anthem before moving to Andromeda when that project lost its previous project lead around 2014. His media-silence is nothing unusual. He uses Twitter for promoting his games into "gold" around its marketing pre-release hype. Many devs do this and then keep Twitter out of their daily lives otherwise. He just wrote half a novel that released recently and has been wrapping up external media projects on Andromeda I think. Oh yeah, he was attending some panel soon I heard, so he's still working on stuff whether it's Andromeda or Anthem.
Fernando Melo just announced an MP live event update a couple of weeks ago so he's actually still working on Andromeda as producer. All those other big-name devs from Montreal that worked on Andromeda I've seen tweeting about whatever Star Wars or other game they're working on at Motive now. There's nothing but a skeleton staff left from Andromeda but the co-lead writers John and Cathleen are still there according to Linkedin and Cath appeared in the N7-day vid last year. However, prominent writers such as the writers of Drack, PeeBee, Gil, Kallo, the main Tempest content and some main missions are no longer working at BioWare or EA at all. We only have the Edmonton-leads left for the most part so Andromeda 2 would not be able to feel like a natural continuation with this much talent replaced. I wouldn't want it at least.

I'm fine with most of the writers not coming back honestly. I know they were on a truncated schedule when Mac came on board but the respective character arcs for MEA are done. Cora, Peebee, Liam, Jaal, Drack, etc are different at the end, let other writers take a crack at shifting the tone and overall arc of the series someplace interesting. ME2 felt different than ME1...different can be good. I'm down with it.

To me its not that big of a deal either, I am not expecting a literary masterpiece when playing a BioWare game so if there are differences I really don't care. Just like when Robert Jordan died they had another author come in and finish the Wheel of Time series. I still enjoyed what was written, there might have been differences, but frankly to me the primary thing was that I enjoyed what I got not that it was identical.
