Hi all,
What is the situation right now with ammo boosters? I remember reading a thread once about cryo ammo messing up other armor debuffs (e.g., Snap Freeze), but I can't find it after doing some basic searches. Are there bugs with Incendiary or Disruptor ammo?

Every ammo except Disruptor override any buff/debuff with it's own. Same goes with powers.

Thanks. Do you need to prime the target to mess the buff up, or does the buff get messed up with the first shot? So, e.g., if I Snap Freeze something and then shoot it with a Shorty, what happens with the the three rounds of the burst?

Not sure, never gave much attention. Sorry. And I think it's not a bug either, because if effects stack, game would be unballaced and easy. Example: stacking cryo ammo, snap freeze and cryo beam would give over 200% debuff.

Example: stacking cryo ammo, snap freeze and cryo beam would give over 200% debuff. I think they should be additive- if I end up in a PUG I don’t want to worry that I can’t rely on a Snap Freeze because someone else may have Cryo Ammo, etc. But at this point they are what they are and my main concern is not nerfing my own debuffs, LOL. Thanks for the link V.

Just remember how it was when someone brings Disruptor Ammo in all Biotic team in ME3MP.

safest bet is to use either disruptor ammo or just don't use ammo consumables, instead use a weapon one or universal damage or whatever else you have on platinum.
Gold and lower probably doesn't really matter tbh except for maybe like hydras/behemoth etc but it's not that big a deal outside plat.

It depends if it gets to your nerve or not, some people want to have unified ammo consumables, I dont usually care so much. If I see someone with fex. cryo, I then let him have his targets when I have inferno (?) ..
Yesterdays UR buffs really helped to melt Hydras with Hurricane Siphon II, even without any consumable buffs.

As I understand it, ammo types don't even provide a debuff (in the sense of enemies taking more damage)? What I think they do: cryo slows, fire burns (red bars), disruptor takes down shields. Oh, and they provide 'fuel' for explosions (fire, biotic, cryo, tech) with various power detonators. So a power like cryo beam will debuff up until the point someone creates an explosion with a detonating power.
